A Fatal Auto Accident Caused by a Drunken Policeman from Beima Branch Police Station of Longkou City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Policemen from Beima Branch Police Station of Longkou City, Shandong Province recently arrested four Falun Gong practitioners. On July 3, 2004, they sent two of them, Ms. Yu Guiying and Mr. Wang Shugong, to the Xiadingjia brainwashing class. Both of these practitioners had agreed not to practice Falun Gong any more after being arrested. On the way, Ms. Yu and Mr. Wang were killed in a car accident when the car, driven by a drunken policeman named Luan Jiliang, collided with a big truck. The other two practitioners who had refused to give up Falun Gong survived, and were sent to the Zhangjiagou Detention Center to serve long-term detentions.

At about 8 p.m. on the evening of July 2, 2004, policemen from Beima Branch Police Station of Longkou City had broken into the homes of Wang Qinghai and Wang Shugong in Wazi Village of Beima County and arrested them. On the afternoon of July 3 they arrested the other two Falun Gong practitioners, Li Zhishuang and Yu Guiying, from Lijiacun Village, Taishang.

Around 3 p.m. in the afternoon of July 3, Yu Guiying's family was informed of her death. When her family members came to the site of the accident they saw the awful sight of Yu Guiying's mangled body.

However, Wang Shugong's family was not informed of his death until as late as 8 p.m. that night, and the officers in charge didn't allow his family members to see the body at the time.

On the morning of July 4, family members of the two dead practitioners carried wreaths to the Beima County government and asked for permission to see their bodies. While doing this, the family members told the crowd that Ms. Yu and Mr. Wang had become healthy through practicing Falun Gong, but they had come to a miserable end after they were arrested by the government, and now their family members were not even allowed to see their bodies.

Receiving no response from the Beima County Government, the family members ceremoniously burned the wreaths in front of the gate of the government building in memory of their lost relatives. They were not allowed to see the bodies until the afternoon.
