Mr. Dong Dejun from Dehui City, Jilin Province Dies after Brutal Beating in Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai By a practitioner from Dehui City
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Dong Dejun, 61, lived in
Tiantun, northwest of Zhitian Village, Wutai Town, Dehui City, Jilin Province.
On February 3, 2002 (Chinese Lunar Calendar), policemen from the Wutai Village
and the Dehui City Police Departments apprehended him. Mr. Dong was brought to
the Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai on March 27, where within only two days he was
beaten until he was physically disabled. His nervous system was damaged and he
could no longer take care of himself. After experiencing pain from the torture
for over 800 days and nights, he tragically passed away on June 27, 2004. After the truth of Falun Gong and the persecution had been effectively
exposed in Changchun City through tapping into the cable television network on
March 5, 2003, Jiang's regime went on a rampage and issued the secret directive
to "kill [Falun Gong practitioners] without exception," thus
starting a big wave of arrests throughout the province. On February 3, the chief
of the Wutai Village Police Station, Mou Xiaojun, and policemen Guo Fengjun and
Li Xiuyou colluded with policemen from the Dehui City Police Department to break
into Dong Dejun's house. In front of numerous onlookers, they abducted Dong
Dejun and took him to the police station. Dong Dejun, true to his belief in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and
Forbearance," did not write the required "Guarantee Statement"
(1) and was therefore illegally detained in the Dehui City Detention Center. He
was then sent to a labor camp. On March 27, 2002, he was sent to the notorious
Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai. A few days later, Dong Dejun's family received notice from the director of
the labor camp, Meng Xianglin, telling them to come to Changchun to pick him up.
It had only been a little over ten days since they had last seen him. When his
family members visited him in the hospital, Mr. Dong was emaciated, unconscious
and clearly close to death. The labor camp told the family that it was due to
his hunger strike. However, this was not the truth. According to an inside source in the Yinmahe Labor Camp, on the second day of
Dong Dejun's assignment to the "Re-education Squad" he was cruelly
tortured. The witness reported that some prisoners dragged Dong Dejun to the
bathroom across the hall from the No. 2 Dorm, and beat and kicked him. After
they kicked him to the ground, they kicked him in the head with heavy leather
shoes. Dong Dejun fell unconscious instantly. Realizing that Dong Dejun was close to death, the guards and the prisoners
took Mr. Dong to Jiutai City Hospital by car to try to save his life. However,
the hospital could not save him because his brain was damaged. From there, they
sent Dong Dejun to the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Changchun. After the
experts had examined him, they claimed that his brain had been injured so
severely that a massive blot clot had formed. There was nothing anybody could do
to help him. In order to avoid responsibility, officials from the labor camp
lied to the family, who then took him back home with them. After Dong Dejun reached his family home, he was still extremely weak. His
veins constricted when his family tried to inject him with medicine. Amazingly,
under the tender care of his family, Dong Dejun recovered a little and survived
for a while. Unfortunately, due to extensive brain and nerve damage, he never fully regained his mental faculties. The left side of his body had been beaten until it was
paralyzed. He was forced to lie in bed and could not take care of himself. He
lived together with his 83-year-old dad. His niece especially took care of him
for his daily living. In this way, a previously healthy, elderly man with high moral standards, who
followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance"
was persecuted to death only 17 days after he was apprehended and two days after
he was sent to Yinmahe Labor Camp. In June 2004, after having suffered the pain from the torture for 800 days,
Dong Dejun's health gradually worsened. He tragically passed away on June 27,
after ineffective medical intervention. The staff at the Yinmahe Labor Camp in Jiutai are responsible for the murder
of Dafa practitioner Dong Dejun. The instructor of the "Re-education
