Changchun practitioner Li Zhiyong was tortured in Jilin Prison until he almost died. He was transferred to the Infectious Diseases Department of Jilin City Jilin Railroad Center Hospital for treatment.

On February 24, 2004, police destroyed a Falun Dafa information production site in Xuchang City, Henan Province. Miao Zhongkai and Chang Guopin led the police from the Xuchang Public Security Bureau, and Wen Jianwei and Li Hongwei from the Public Security Sub-Bureau at Weidu District. They had secretly monitored the site for a long time, followed practitioners, and installed a phonetapping device. Photocopying equipment and Dafa truth clarification materials were confiscated during the raid. Several practitioners were arrested, including a practitioner with the surname Zhang, Ms. Wang Feiyuan, Ms. Fan Jinzhi, Ms. Zhang Meizhi, and Zhao Zhongfu. The police monitored and harassed several other practitioners.

Ms. Wang Feiyuan is around twenty years old and is from Nanyang. She graduated from Xuchang's Normal College and is currently detained at the Xuchang Detention Center. The police are attempting to sentence her to prison.

Ms. Fan Jinzhi is around fifty years old. She retired from working at the Nanyang City Wool Mill Factory. Since July 20, 1999, she has been detained many times for continuing to practice Falun Gong. The police managed to have her sentenced to one year of forced labor. However, she was not admitted to the labor camp because she did not pass the physical exam. She was released for medical treatment.

Ms. Zhang Meizhi is around fifty years old. She worked for Xuchang Normal College. She has been detained many times for not renouncing Falun Gong. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor in Zhenzhou Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Zhang is around twenty years old. He is a physics teacher at a middle school in Xuchang County. He was released after being detained for several days.

Mr. Zhao Zhongfu, 35, is from Yuzhou. In April 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained by the local police. On March 1, 2004 while making a phone call to a fellow practitioner, agents from the Zhenzhou National Security Bureau arrested him. Zhenzhou National Security tortured him to try to get information about other practitioners from him. He was released after being detained for one month in Zhenzhou.

On June 8, 2004, police officers from the Rongcheng City "610 Office" (1) launched a raid to arrest practitioners. So far, the detention of at least ten practitioners has been confirmed. The police also plan to conduct brainwashing sessions.

Practitioner Mr. Bi Guohua, 64, retired from the Rongcheng City Zhongshui Steel Wire Factory, and lived in Beiche Village, Shidao Town of Rongcheng City. He firmly refused to cooperate with the illegal actions of the police. Officers from the "610 Office" beat Bi Guoha, causing serious wounds. Mr. Bi died on the way to a hospital.

Qin Haijie, 23, and his mother are practitioners from Renhe Town of Rongcheng City. The police arrested both of them on June 8 and confiscated their computer, printer, CD burner, and other items valued at around 20,000 yuan (2).

On April 20, 2004, policeman Zhou Yinchi, Director of Chengguan Police Station at Yunmeng County in Hubei Province, together with Yu Meng, Zhang Liming, and Chen Fuqing of the Yunmeng County National Security Team broke into practitioner Li Xiaoming's home. They took Li Xiaoming to the Chengguan Police Station in Yunmeng County. Li Xiaoming was brutally beaten and his ear bled badly. He was transferred to Yunmeng County Detention Center. On June 4, 2004, Yunmeng Public Security Bureau sentenced him to one year of forced labor and sent him to Xiaogan Forced Labor Camp. Because Li Xiaoming did not pass the physical exam, the forced labor camp would not accept him. He was sent back to Yunmeng Detention Center. On June 7, Li Xiaoming was sent to Shayang Forced Labor Camp. Currently, he is held in the third team of the Qilihu Forced Labor Camp at Shayang.

On April 21, 2004, policeman Zhou Yinchi and officers from the Yunmeng National Security team ransacked the homes of Ms. Ceng Cuihua and Ms. Liu Qiaoyun. They took both practitioners to the Chengguan Police Station at Yunmeng County for interrogation. The two practitioners were detained at Yunmeng Detention Center. Ms. Liu Qiaoyun went on a hunger strike to protest the maltreatment she was receiving. The National Security Team refused to release Liu Qiaoyun until she was almost dead. Police extorted 3,000 yuan from Ceng Cuihua's family and then sent her to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center.

Around noon on June 22, 2004, police took Panjin City practitioner Han Chonghui away, and he is being detained at the Panshan County Detention Center. This case is still under investigation.

Three practitioners from Jiangxia district in Huhan City Zhou Youyu, Huang Huiping, and Wu Shengguo were taken away by officers from the Jiangxia District "610 Office" and sent to Yangyuan Brainwashing Center on May 15 and June 4, respectively.

Since July 20, 1999, some officials of the Liaozhong County Professional Education Center in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province were coerced to participate in the persecution of Falun Gong. The officials now actively spread lies from Jiang's regime that slander Falun Gong, and deceive and poison the minds of the staff and students at the center. In 2000, they held a signature campaign that attacked Falun Gong, displayed posters showing propaganda about Falun Gong, forced every class to have a discussion session in which students had to state their positions about the Falun Gong issue, and incited hatred of Falun Gong among the students. In early 2004, right after the winter break, the center obtained a new principal, Wang Bangchao (male, around 40). He made a new list of regulations for the staff and students of the school to follow. One of the regulations is called School Discipline and it focuses on slandering Falun Gong. This regulation has been posted in every classroom. The school has ten classrooms and every student is exposed to such propaganda.

On April 27, 2004, police from the National Security Team of Yitong County Public Security Bureau and police officer An Jinzhi of the Zhengyang Street Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Guo Chunyan in Menjiatun and detained her for fifteen days. After other practitioners exposed this illegal act, instead of regretting what they had done, the perpetrators arrested Guo Chunyan again and sentenced her to one year of forced labor. The villagers are currently trying to stop the persecution against Ms. Guo Chunyan.

On May 20, police officers from the National Security Team of Yitong County Public Security Bureau and the Xiwei Town Police Station arrested practitioners in Xiwei town. Names of the arrested include: Ms. Li Su-e (sentenced to one year of forced labor), Ms. Guo Chunyan (sentenced to one year of forced labor), Zhang Limin (sentenced to two years of forced labor) and a practitioner whose surname is Li (sentenced to forced labor). More information about their circumstances is being sought.

Yitong County Court in Jilin Province handed down heavy terms to three arrested practitioners. Chen Jinru was sentenced to four years of forced labor. He was eventually freed because of his righteous thoughts. Ms. Xu Hongyan and Ms. Chen Yuxia were sentenced and sent to Heizuizi Women's Prison.

During the night of June 21, 2004 (eve of the Dragon Boat Festival), Yitong County practitioners put up more than 200 banners stating, "Falun Dafa is Good" in Dahushan town and at the Toudao Scenic Site. People who got up early saw the special scene. Practitioner's righteous actions helped people to see Dafa in a different light.
