Melbourne, Australia: Practitioners Gather in Front of Chinese Embassy and Call for Attention to the Shooting Incident in South Africa (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of June 30, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners
in Australia held a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy. They called on
the international community to pay attention to the incident in which
Australian Falun Gong practitioners were shot in South Africa and help end
the Jiang faction's inhumane persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
During the visit of Chinese officials Zeng Qihong and Bo Xilai in South
Africa, 9 Falun Gong practitioners from Australia went to South Africa to
appeal and prepare a lawsuit against the Chinese officials for their
responsibilities in the persecution. Around 8 p.m. of June 28, the 9
practitioners were on their way to the Presidential Guest House in two cars and
one was hit by gunshots. A practitioner was wounded and the bones in one of his
feet were shattered. The car was damaged seriously.
A spokesperson for the Australia Falun Dafa Association said that the Jiang
faction's state terrorism not only existed in China but also is being exported
overseas. From this case in which the Jiang faction hired
gunmen to shoot practitioners, we can see that the Jiang faction uses inhumane
means in the persecution of Falun Gong. We call on the international community
to pay attention to the incident and help end the persecution.
One Falun Gong practitioner who just came to Australia said, "Because of
Jiang Zemin's order, police open fire during unlawful rounding up of Falun Gong
practitioners in China. I never imagined that this could occur overseas."
