Facts About the Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Jin Jilin of Gansu Province

Jin Jilin is a 41-year-old Dafa practitioner from Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. In March of 2000, Mr. Jin was arrested and detained for 15 days by the Yuzhong County Police Department for appealing in Beijing about the injustice done to Falun Dafa. In September of the same year, officers from the Yuzhong County Police Department ransacked Mr. Jin's home, confiscated his property, and sent him to the Yuzhong Detention Center. After arriving at the detention center, Officer Chen Wengang searched Jin Jilin's body, and kept the 200 Yuan (1) cash he found. That night, Chen sent some prisoners into Mr. Jin's cell, and they covered him up with a blanket and gave him a severe beating.

After being detained in the Yuzhong Detention Center for over a month, Mr. Jin was sentenced to 12 months' hard labor to be served at the Pingantai Forced Labor Camp. During a meeting at the Pingantai Labor Camp, Mr. Jin strongly protested against some officers who were trying to slander Falun Dafa, and all the other Dafa practitioners responded to the protest simultaneously, saying, "Stop slandering Falun Dafa!" For that, Mr. Jin was locked up for 7 days for disciplinary action.

On October 5, 2001, Jin Jilin was released, but in mid-November, some scoundrels reported him for distributing truth-clarification materials and clarifying the facts against Falun Dafa. So Mr. Jin was compelled to live away from home in order to avoid being arrested again.

On May 3, 2002, Jin Jilin was arrested again for printing Dafa materials. This time, he was sent to the Xiguoyuan Detention Center. Betrayed by other prisoners, he was transferred back to Yuzhong, where he was put on secret trial. During the trial, Mr. Jin spoke out boldly, saying, "Falun Dafa is great!" He was beaten badly by the officers, who later sentenced him to 10 years of hard labor to be served at the Xiguoyuan Detention Center.

While Jin Jilin was at the detention center, he demonstrated his unshakable belief in Falun Dafa. To break his willpower, the center director, Wang Yanhui and the chief warden, Wang Zhenya, decided to put Mr. Jin through another torture. With arms and legs handcuffed and bent to the back, they strapped both the hand and leg shackles together using a short piece of wire. Thus, Mr. Jin could neither sit down nor stand up, but was forced to partially lean against the ground with his shoulder, half-squatting. He was left in this position for five days. The metal cut deep into his skin, and his hands became swollen and not a piece of healthy skin was left on his whole body. For months afterwards, Mr. Jin could not wear any clothes.

Seeing that all the tortures didn't make Jin Jilin submit and renounce Falun Dafa, the officers sent him to the Dashaping Prison for more persecution. On arriving at the prison, and as soon as Jin Jilin stepped off the vehicle, he shouted out loudly, "Falun Dafa is great!" His voice shook the whole building. The officers put him in chains and left him in the high security cell for another 7 days.

All the other Dafa practitioners in the high security cells wore handcuffs on both hands and feet, and the shackles were strapped together with a piece of wire, leaving only their fingers free to eat rice with. At night, they slept on the bare concrete floor, with no blankets, and the officers never stopped using electric batons on the prisoners.

Seeing that they still could not move Mr. Jin's willpower, in early March of 2004, officers from the Dashaping Prison sent him to the Dingxi Prison, where he was continuously shocked with electric batons and also violently beaten and kicked. Nevertheless, Mr. Jin kept clarifying the facts of Falun Dafa to the prison officers, and he often shouted out, "Falun Dafa is great!"

During the 50 days of his imprisonment, Jin Jilin was under severe disciplinary treatment and his entire body was severely injured.
