Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Yaping from Huangtun Village, Xiajiabao Township, Qingyuan County has been tortured so severely in Benxi City's Prison that he has serious anemia. According to a prison doctor, Wang Yaping has suffered from blood infection. His whole body became swollen, he had fluid on his lungs, and he felt extremely physically tired. The doctor said his life is in danger. Wang Yaping is currently held at the prison's Education Section.

Recently, more than 20 female Dafa practitioners held at Harbin City's No.2 Detention Center held a hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest and detention. Police don't allow family members to visit these practitioners and strictly block all information about the practitioners' circumstances.

It is now known that there were 42 Dafa practitioners from all districts of Shanghai arrested during the first ten days of May 2004. One of them, practitioner Ms. Zhang Lijuan, was put into Minhang District's Detention Center on May 14, 2004 by order of the Minhang District Police Department chief.

In April 2004, police from the Changning District arrested practitioner Ms. Yan Li. As they failed to find any excuse or evidence to persecute her, they had to release her in the form of "bailing out for hospitalization," but they still monitor her. Approximately eight practitioners were arrested at the same time. One of those, 70-year-old Ms. Yu Peiying may be tried as "The No. 1 Defendant." Yu Peiying and Yan Li were both sentenced to forced labor and had been arrested and harassed several previous times.

On June 20, 2004, practitioner Zhang Zhen from Chaluhe Township distributed Dafa truth-clarifying material to people in Sanjiazi Township. He was reported to police when he handed the material to some personnel working for the township government. Later on, police from the Sanjiazi Township's Police Station arrested Zhang Zhen.

During the evening of June 17, 2004, Chou Yongsheng, Fangzheng County's Political Security Section chief, and policeman Wang Hongyuan, accompanied by a police officer from the Dalianhe Police Department, suddenly broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Jiang Yulian in Shahezi Village/Fangzheng County. They searched Jiang's house and confiscated a copy of the book of Zhuan Falun. Then they arrested Jiang Yulian and held her in Fangzheng County's Detention Center. The current circumstances of Jiang Yulian in the detention center remain unknown. Since July 22, 1999, Jiang Yulian has been arrested and held many times. One time she was sentenced to one year of forced labor. She was mistreated with all kind of tortures in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. In order to avoid the persecution, her entire family had no choice but to leave home, and not long ago they wandered into Dalianhe Town.

Dafa practitioner Zhang Jinqiong is around 30 years old, and is from Xindi Town in Honghu City, Hubei Province. She is an employee of the city's Cotton Mill Company. In 2001, for persevering in Falun Gong practice, Zhang Jinqiong was arrested by people from the local "610 Office" (1) and sentenced to two years of forced labor, to be served in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp, where she suffered all means of torture. She did not cooperate with the evil persecutors, and eventually walked out of there with the power of her righteous thoughts. In May 2004, the local "610 Office" arrested her again. We don't know if her life or death hangs in the balance right now.

In early April, police from Nanchang City took concerted action to raid practitioners and arrest them. More than a dozen Dafa practitioners were arrested from home. Police ordered special agents in parks to covertly photograph people with camcorders and monitor or follow practitioners. As a result, several Dafa truth clarification material production sites were recently damaged.

Additionally, at noon on April 12, three policemen broke into the home of the Xu Jianrong and Wang Guoying practitioner couple, and forcibly arrested Xu Jianrong, while confiscating a compact copy machine and some Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Wang Guoying walked away with the power of righteous thoughts. A hearing-impaired teenage daughter was left at home without care. Police often came to harass the daughter, and asked for her mother's whereabouts. Wang Guoying is living in exile. She could not go back home.

More than 100 practitioners are being held in Jiangxi Province's Female Forced Labor Camp, including determined practitioners Wu Jingjun, Kong Xiangming, Xiao Genxiang, Chen Huaying, Chen Fanghua, and others.

During the afternoon of May 5, 2004, Wang Guozheng, the Political & Security Section chief, and Ma Zhaoyun, officer from Jianchang County's Police Department, Huludao City, led four policemen from a higher police authority to the work unit of practitioner Mr. Ren Qingli and forcibly took Ren Qingli to the county police department for interrogation. Since they didn't get any results after an hour's interrogation, these four police officers took Dafa practitioner Mr. Ren Qingli with them and arrived in two police vehicles, to search Ren Qingli's home, where they made a mess.

Ren Qingli's wife, Ms. Zhao Haiqin, had been living in exile for over three years. She was hiding in the home at that moment. At first, those gangsters didn't find her hiding place. Wang Guoqing found her when he did the second search and found Dafa materials, CDs and books and other personal belongings. They confiscated two cell phones and a PDA. Zhao Haiqin clarified the truth to those policemen; Wang Guozheng, however, slandered Dafa. Ma Zhaoyun put Zhao Haiqin into handcuffs.

Ren Qingli managed to escape from police custody, and then left home once again, to avoid further persecution. Ren Qingli's work place was searched and Dafa books were confiscated. Zhao Haiqin was put into Jianchang County's Detention Center. She was transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp after holding a hunger strike for five days. A teenage child is left at home without care.

In early June 2004, a large amount of flyers exposing the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong appeared in Dangshan County in Anhui Province, which scared the people in the Dangshan County "610 Office." They were extremely afraid. The Dangshan County "610 Office" enforcers invited personnel from Suzhou City's "610 Office" to assist in arresting practitioners. Deputy chief for Dangshan County's Police Department, Shao Zhufeng, led the effort. They arrested practitioners Wei Shezhang, Zhang Hongzhan, Zhang Liying, Hu Jinling, and others, and initially held them in Dangshan County's Detention Center. The practitioners' present whereabouts are unknown.

Dafa practitioner Mr.Wang Shiyuan, a Ph.D. candidate, is from Hongdong County's Vinylon Factory, Shanxi Province. Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Shiyuan was arrested in October 2000 after he traveled to Beijing to appeal. Policeman asked him how old he is. He replied 27. Then the policemen took off all his clothes and poured 27 barrels of cold water on him. Afterwards he was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp in Tianjin City, where he was beaten and otherwise inhumanely tortured. He was on a hunger strike for six months, but was not released until he was tortured to his last gasp of breath. His university dismissed him. Following is additional information:

On March 20, 2004, Shanxi Province's Coking Factory in Hongdong County found Dafa truth-clarifying materials. The provincial Police Department sent officers to investigate. Personnel from Hongdong County's Police Department and from the Political & Security Section from the Vinylon Factory went to search Wang's home late at night. Wang Shiyuan tried not to cooperate with the arrest, but policemen forcibly removed him from the home. He shouted out, "Why do you arrest me? I'm not guilty! Falun Dafa is Great!" He was held in Hongdong County's Police Department and sentenced to three years of forced labor. Now he is being held in Taiyuan City's Xindian Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Fan Yanli, 31, was an employee of Huozhou City's No.4 Ceramics Factory. In February 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but was sent back to Huozhou City's Detention Center and illegally detained 36 days by persons from the Huozhou City Police Department. After handing over a 3,000 Yuan (2) "deposit," she was released.

In January 2001, Chen Zhongqi, Ren Liangming, and others in the No. 4 Ceramics Factory attempted to brainwash her, and forced her to do heavy labor. They deprived her of her freedom for over 30 days.

During the 16^th Chinese Ruling Party Congress in 2002, Ren Liangming, Huozhou City's "610 Office" head, captured Fan Yanli and took her to the No. 475 Army without due cause. Fan had been illegally detained there for nine days under the surveillance of special personnel.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Fan Yanli has been subjected to three illegal house searches so far, merely because of her belief in Falun Dafa. Whenever a holiday approached she was always harassed, which hurt her entire family. Even talking about it, her 89-year-old grandmother becomes scared and trembles in tears.

In April 2004, Ms. Zhang Yuqing, who lives in dormitory No. 13 of Jinan City's Engine Factory, and Ms. Zhu, who lives at the Luji Building, were tracked down while distributing truth-clarifying materials. Lawless policemen went to Zhang Yuqing's home three times to harass her. On April 21, Zhang Yuqing and Ms. Zhu were arrested. It was reported that Ms. Zhu was fined 10,000 Yuan. Both were detained at the No. 2 Female Prison in the Jiangshuiquan District in Jinan City. So far they haven't been released.

Since July 20, 1999, when the persecution began, personnel of the Miyun County "610 Office" closely followed orders from the head evildoer to actively persecute Falun Gong practitioners. During the past four years they have illegally arrested, detained, put into forced labor, and sentenced more than one thousand Falun Gong practitioners.

In the past six months they have frequently raided Dafa practitioners. On November 7, 2003, lawless plain clothes policemen, led by Zhang Baoling, the Xibinhe Police Precinct chief in Miyun County, went to Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Shufang's home. They duped Wang into opening the door by claiming that they were personnel from the residential committee. Then they arrested her and searched her home. They confiscated over 10,000 Yuan and some other private belongings. That same day they arrested more than ten Dafa practitioners, including Zhang Yulan and Zhang Shurong. Most are over 50 years old, with the oldest woman being over 70 years old. All were sentenced to two years of forced labor.

On February 28, 2004, just before The Two Conferences, "610 Office" personnel secretly arrested four Dafa practitioners who only practiced at home, including Zou Shuyi. They were sentenced to two years of forced labor.

On April 20, 2004, Tian Liwen, chief of the police department's National Security Section, led several policemen to arrest four Dafa practitioners at their work units. Practitioners arrested include Li Hong, from the County's Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Li Xiuxia, an officer of the County's Health Department, Qi Guangran, secretary of the Party committee of the Non-staple Food Products Company, and Wang Jiachun, Party branch secretary. Their homes were searched and Dafa books and computers were confiscated. At the same time the policemen also arrested several other older village women.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Dang Xiaoyan, from Qujiapu Village, Shimen Town, Zunhua City, Hebei Province, was abducted and taken to Shimen Town's Police Precinct for illegal detention by policemen Wen Jingchun. At night she was transferred to the Zunhua City Police Department. When her husband asked for her release at the police department, policemen did not allow him or any of her family to see her. They ordered her husband to take away all her shoes and clothes he had brought with him. Her whereabouts are still unknown, several months after the illegal arrest.

Ms. Dang has a disabled husband, a daughter, and two elderly parents in their 80s. Her father couldn't even see her before his death. Her sister Dang Xiaolan was also arrested one day for appealing for her. Currently, her sister's whereabouts are also unknown.

Ms. Wang Ping from Tonghua City protested her illegal detention after her arrest by persons from the National Security Team. She and other Dafa practitioner's went on a hunger strike at the detention center to protest the illegality of this affair. That is the reason the National Security Team sentenced her to three years of forced labor in advance and sent her to Changchun City's Heizuizi Female Forced Labor Camp.
