Czech Republic: Falun Gong Press Conference in Prague on the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture (Photos)

July 09, 2004 |

(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday June 26, 2004, the United Nations International Day in Support of the Victims of Torture, Czech and British Falun Gong practitioners gathered on Prague's Krizovnicke Square by the famous Charles Bridge to honor the memory of those whose lives have been taken in Jiang Zemin's 5-year campaign of genocide waged against Falun Gong in China.

Masses of tourists from all over the world watched the group of practitioners demonstrate the graceful exercises of Falun Gong. Lots of them came to ask for more information. When the tour guides, who lead large groups of foreign tourists around the city on a guided tour in their own language, learned about the shocking violations of human rights that are happening to Falun Gong practitioners in China, they informed their groups of tourists. This allowed many people to learn the truth about Falun Dafa. One lady guide noticed a poster with the Falun emblem and started to translate the poster text to her group of German tourists. She told them that the swastika was always considered a precious symbol of happiness and good fortune in many civilizations and it was a well-known symbol long ago before it was abused by Hitler during the Second World War.

At about half past eleven in the morning, statements of support and greetings from two MPs and one senator sent to Falun Gong practitioners for the press conference rang loudly through Krizovnicke Square. These greetings and expressions of support, together with the reading of Senator Ruml's Statement by the secretary of the Olympic Watch Committee, are bringing the light of hope to those who are imprisoned and tortured in Chinese prisons and labor camps for still refusing to give up their belief. The whole world is starting to see through Jiang's veil of lies.
