On March 31, 2004, Hanyang District Court secretly sentenced practitioners Liu Qingshui, Wu Zhiqiang, Wang Jinsong, and Zhang Quanqing. Wu Zhiqiang was sentenced to three and a half years of imprisonment. Others were sentenced to three years.

Liu Qingshui and Wu Zhiqiang appealed right away. Wuhan City's Intermediate People's Court ignored the appeal after a two-month delay and kept the original sentence. On June 7 and June 8, their family members visited them. That was over a month ago and we have not had any additional information about them since. Their whereabouts are unknown. Their families also have no idea about where they'd been sent for imprisonment.

At around 7:00 a.m. on July 20, 2004, officers from the Shaheying Police Station went to Zhangba Village, Shaheying Township and arrested practitioner Ms. Zhang Sujie.

Clearwisdom.net had reported Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Sujie's experience of going to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. In late June 2004, after some officials read that article, they attempted to trick Zhang Sujie into telling them who sent her article to Clearwisdom.net, but didn't succeed. Later Zhang Sujie had a stomachache and vomited for a long time, which left the policemen no choice but to tell her husband to take her home.

It has been reported that Zhang Sujie is currently detained in Qitun Village. It's unknown which detention center she is in.

On the afternoon of May 31, 2004, Liu Zhanlu and other policemen arrested practitioner Qi Fengzhen, who lives in Liuhuabeili, the Linghe District.

Before Qi Fengzhen started practicing Falun Gong, she was extremely weak and had a disability. She often had to take medicine and injections. As a laid-off worker, she couldn't afford the medication. Her body manifested the symptoms of bone tumors. She was then so desperate that she wanted to commit suicide, but someone introduced her to Falun Dafa. During her several years of cultivation her health was so good that she didn't need to take one pill or have one injection.

She was put into a brainwashing center, and police tried to coerce her into renouncing her belief. She sternly told the personnel at the brainwashing center, "Everyone is writing his own history and decides their own future. Good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with evil. Falun Dafa only benefits the country. Freedom of belief is a right bestowed to every citizen by the Constitution. I have not violated any law! It is you who are violating the law."

In order to protest the persecution against her, Qi Fengzhen staged a hunger strike. The next morning she suddenly fainted. Li Xiejiang at the brainwashing center pronounced, "Send her to a hospital for a checkup. If there is no big problem, take her back here." The hospital result showed her blood pressure was 150 and her heart was racing. She was then allowed to go home.

Li Li, Zhao Zhisheng, Yuan Lin, Xu Na and other practitioners held in the Beijing Women's Prison have recently started to negate what they did before that went against Dafa under the threats from the prison guards.

Practitioner Ms. Zhao Zhisheng, 51 years old, was severely injured after being beaten up and kicked. In addition, the guards stepped on her neck, struck her, seized her by the neck and dug into her eye socket. She was beaten unconscious, and prison guards doused her with water to wake her up. She was forced to stand facing the wall for several days. Her wounds are still not healed a year later. Once, she was tortured so severely that she started hallucinating and started talking to the wall.

Practitioner Ms. Xu Na witnessed the whole process of practitioner Ms. Dong Cui being tortured to death within eight days. She stepped forward to expose the crime. Currently, those practitioners who nullified the "renouncement of their belief" are experiencing severe hardships. They hope they can work together with practitioners outside, to negate the "renouncement of their belief" and evil persecution.

Policewomen Li Xiujin and Sun Hui discovered that practitioners Gao Yanbo, Li Ping, Tong Li, Deng Chunxia and Zhao Xiuyun and others who are being held in Jiamusi City's Forced Labor Camp were studying Master Li's teachings. They extended these practitioners' detention terms by one month, disregarding Chinese laws.

At about 9:00 p.m. on July 21, 2004, more than ten plainclothes special agents from Jinzhou City's National Security Bureau broke into practitioner Ms. Wang Lige's home located in the Wenzhengyuan # 11-72, Linghe District. Only her child was at home. They lied to the child, saying that they were checking on the local residents. After they got in, they searched the whole house. At around 9:30 p.m. Wang Lige came back home. She was pulled into the home as soon as she opened the door.

Wang Lige rebuked such criminal behavior, told them about Falun Gong and kept sending forth righteous thoughts at the same time. At about 10:30 p.m. the police confiscated a computer (worth 4,000 Yuan), a printer (worth 4,000 Yuan), a box of paper (worth 120 Yuan) and truth-clarifying materials (1). They ordered Wang Lige to sign the list of confiscated items. Wang refused and asked them for their search warrant. They took out a piece of paper with some words on it, flashed it in front of Wang and then put it back. Shortly after, some police personnel from the Zhengda Police Precinct came and twenty policemen filled the building. At around 11:00 p.m., all the police went downstairs. Some of them left, while some sat in the car monitoring Wang's apartment. At around 3:00 a.m. the following day, Wang Lige escaped from her home with the power of righteous thoughts. Right now she is living in exile.

It was reported that practitioner Ms. Wang Jiao from the Railway No. 1 Middle School was arrested on July 21. The detailed information is unavailable currently.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Tang Hui from Handan City was arrested during the 2004 Spring Festival when she tapped into a cable TV system with a Falun Gong truth-clarifying video. Since then, the police have not permitted her family to visit her or even send her bedding. It is reported that Tang Hui is currently being detained in cell No. 24 at Shahe City's Detention Center.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Jinfang from Handan City was arrested by persons from the Handan County Police Department for distributing truth-clarifying materials. She is currently being detained at the Handan County Detention Center.

At about 7:00 a.m. one day, Dafa practitioner Jia Jincheng from Qumai Township, Handan City, Hebei Province was called to the township's police precinct by Liu Weijun and three other policemen. These three policemen sent Jia Jincheng to a detention center. They attempted to extort 5,000 Yuan from Jia's family. They threatened that they would not release Jia Jincheng unless the family paid the fine. Jia's family had to borrow money from everywhere. Finally, after they gave them 3,600 Yuan, Jia Jincheng was released.

However, ten days later, Li Jianguo, an official of the township's political and judiciary committee, took several people with him and went to Jia Jincheng's home. They threatened to send Jia Jincheng to a brainwashing center. Jia's family had no choice but to pay another 1,600 Yuan. No receipts were given for the two illegal fines.
