1. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Jichun County Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners

Jichun County Party and government organizations at all levels in Huangguang City, Hubei Province have drastically escalated their persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. It has been reported that party secretaries and leaders of villages and towns have received instructions from higher authorities to secretly keep a close eye on Falun Dafa practitioners.

At 11:00 p.m. on June 28, police arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Hu Yunhua, Ms. Gong Xiaolan and Ms. Hu Jinzhi, who were trying to raise public awareness of the persecution in Datong. The practitioners are being held at Wuzhuang Detention Center in Caohe Town, Jichun County. As of July 6, they had been on hunger strike for eight days.

2. [Inner Mongolia] Two Falun Dafa Practitioners in Yakeshi Arrested

Around May 28, De Shaochen and Zhu Dacheng, leading other officers from the Forestry Police Department, suddenly broke into Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Shuying's home. Facing arrest, Ms. Huang shouted loudly to resist her abduction and her neighbors were alerted upon hearing the sound of toppling furniture. In the end four fully armed police officers carried and pushed her into a police vehicle. She has been taken to a brainwashing unit run by the forestry bureau.

In addition, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Aihua was forcibly taken to the Forestry Bureau Police Department. She had to remain there for over a month and was released only after her family paid a deposit of 2,000 yuan (1). On June 27, the police lured her and her family to the police department with the promise of returning the deposit. Ms. Liu was arrested instead and taken to a forced labor camp, where she is now serving a three-year term.

3. [Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Zheng Baozhen Arrested

On May 24, 2004, officers from the Public Security Division of the Hailaer Railroad Branch Police Department in Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia forcibly took into custody Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zheng Baozhen, an employee of the Yitulihe Railroad Hospital, because she shouted "Falun Dafa Is Good" from her home into the Yitulihe railroad station. She is being currently held at the branch department's detention center. She has held a hunger strike protesting her unlawful arrest.

4. [Nanchun City, Sichuan Province] Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms. He Xiaohua and Ms. Li Xiaofang

On the evening of July 23, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. He Xiaohua, an employee of the No. 2 Weaving Factory, and Ms. Li Xiaofang, who lives on Honghua Street, were arrested by police on a stake-out in Shunqing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. The two practitioners were hanging Falun Gong truth-clarifying banners on Beigandao Street. They are possibly being held at the Gaoping Detention Center.

5. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner You Yongwang Arrested

At noon on July 20, 2004, Tian Fulai from the Goumenzi Town Police Station in Lingyuan City led Chen Zhi and other officers from the Lingyuan Sate Security Unit to a coalmine, where Falun Dafa practitioner You Yongwang works. Four officers forcibly carried You into a police vehicle. You is being unlawfully held at the No. 1 Detention Center in Lingyuan City.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Sun Shufen Inhumanely Tortured at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Sun Shufen is a Falun Dafa practitioner who lives at the family quarters of the Changchun No. 1 Autoworks. She was arrested by officers from the Nanguan Police Station while distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in Nanling Residential Area. She was first taken to the Changchun No. 3 Detention Center in Shuangyang District and subsequently sentenced to one year of forced labor at Unit 3 in Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Sun has remained steadfast in her belief in Falun Dafa and thus has been enduring all sorts of inhumane torture at the hands of prison guards and collaborators who betrayed their belief in Falun Gong and assisted the persecutors.
