Music Is Also an Effective Way to Spread Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) I recently read a notice issued by the editors of Minghui (1) calling for songs and musical pieces from Dafa practitioners in China. I think it's imperative that we do so. In order to save more people, we, as Dafa practitioners, should spread Dafa and clarify the truth to people in diverse ways, using diverse forms.

Music is an art form that is loved by all people. A good musical work strongly appeals to people. It arouses their sympathy and moves their hearts. A musical work created by a Dafa practitioner is filled with positive factors. Compositions of Dafa practitioners contain strong compassion, which touches people's heart even more than other music. Sometimes we use Dafa songs or music as a starting point to clarify the truth to ordinary people and this method has produced good results.

When we create truth-clarification VCDs for Falun Gong, we can use different songs to fit specific needs. For instance, when we arrange the contents of a truth-clarification VCD, we start with the song, "Coming for You" along with truth-clarification pictures, followed by materials that expose the rumors and lies, the persecution of Falun Gong, an introduction to Falun Gong, the symbolic trial of Jiang and so on, ending with the musical piece, "Sit by My Side." We have distributed these VCDs and have received pretty good responses.

After "The Inaugural Chinese New Year Global Gala" was held this year (2004), we chose some essential programs from the four performances that displayed the beauty and glory of Dafa. We copied them to VCDs and gave them away as Chinese New Year presents. People liked them. Even those who were deeply deceived by the anti Falun Gong propaganda, as well as those who were quite afraid of Falun Gong, gladly accepted the VCDs. This paved the way for practitioners to further clarify the truth to them.

In addition to Teacher's lectures, I recorded to my MP3 player a song entitled, "Wish," composed by Dafa practitioners. Early in the year, I went to a nearby hair salon for a haircut. When the two young barbers saw me listening to my MP3 player, they were curious and asked me what I was listening to, so I let them listen to the song, "Wish." Taking turns, they listened to it several times and told me that it was a very good song. I told them, "This song was written, composed and sung by Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa practitioners are very good people, and songs composed by good people are surely pleasant to hear. Falun Dafa practitioners have composed many good songs." The female barber told me that she could almost hum the tune of the song. The male barber asked me where he could buy the song because he wanted to buy one for his own listening. I promised him that I would try my best to get him an audiotape of Dafa songs, and that made him very happy. Then I clarified the truth to them in more detail, telling them more about Falun Dafa and answering their questions. It went very well.

Last month, my cousin and her family came from thousands of miles away to visit me. I seized the opportunity to clarify the truth to them. While my family and I were preparing lunch, I played a truth-clarification VCD for them. When the song "Everything is New" was playing, my 20-year-old niece blurted out, "This song is so pleasant!" Since she loved the songs so much, I played the song "Wish" for her on my MP3 player. She listened to it several times and was enthralled. She told me that this song was so pleasant to listen to, especially the line with "Master," and that she could almost sing it by herself already. My cousin's husband was a qigong enthusiast. After I explained the facts about Falun Dafa and the persecution to him, he wanted to learn more about Falun Gong and to read Zhuan Falun. Since my niece loved the Dafa songs, I gave her and her family a CD with Dafa songs and music, the book, Zhuan Falun, [main teachings of Falun Dafa] and a Falun Dafa exercise instruction videotape. My niece thanked me again and again, and said she would definitely treasure my gifts.

The above are my personal experiences of how the Dafa practitioners around me and I used the form of music to assist introducing Falun Dafa and clarifying truth. As long as we truly treat ourselves as cultivators, with righteous thoughts and righteous actions, any form can be used to clarify the truth and to eliminate the evil factors that prevent the public from learning the truth.
