By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) When I shared the facts about Falun Gong to a friend of mine, he asked me, "You (Falun Gong practitioners) have been giving us free VCD's and other types of materials that obviously cost a lot of money to produce. Where do you get the money from?" I said, "I have been saving up from my grocery expenses." His eyes widened in amazement. "You must have been distributing truth-clarification materials for more than four years. Does all the money come from cutting down your grocery budget?"

"At first, I used my personal savings to produce truth-clarification materials. After I ran out of all of my savings, I started to cut down my monthly expenses to make truth-clarification materials."

Then he asked, "Why do you put yourself through such hardship? Is it worth it?"

I explained, "What we Falun Gong practitioners have been doing is like trying with all our might to save a man from falling from the edge of a cliff. Wouldn't you think it's worth such effort to save lives? Jiang Zemin has been running a smear campaign against Falun Gong and telling the Chinese people lies about Falun Gong since 1999. As a result, those who didn't know the truth about Falun Gong have been led to hate Falun Gong and have even helped the Chinese police to persecute us. There is an ancient Chinese proverb, "Plant melon seeds to harvest melons; plant bean seeds to harvest beans." (It refers to the universal law that, as often expressed in the West, "What goes around, comes around.") You might have already noticed the rising number of disasters and catastrophes since Jiang Zemin started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999. Locust plagues, sandstorms, large scale ferry accidents, plane crashes, coal mine collapses, deadly gas leaks and many other disasters have been seen all over China since 1999. Many Chinese people think these are purely natural disasters, but they are in fact what our ancestors have told us--the effects of persecuting good people!"

I added, "The famous comedian Niu Zhenhua, known to every Chinese household, recently died in a car crash. Many of his fans mourn his death. He may have died in a car crash, but isn't the man that actually caused his death Jiang Zemin? Niu Zhenhua was asked to play a role that slandered Falun Gong in a TV drama series. Think about it for a moment. Falun Gong promotes the principles of ¡®Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance'. What does it mean to help Jiang Zemin condemn these principles and persecute people who conduct themselves by these principles? Doesn't it mean to celebrate the opposites of these principles: lies, cruelty and violence? What kind of world would we help create if we follow Jiang Zemin's orders to condemn the principles of ¡®Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance' and to celebrate the opposite? Besides, according to Niu Zhenhua's family, Niu had been most cautious throughout his life, including in his driving. Getting into a deadly car crash was the last thing they'd expect. What if the car crash was a sign of heavenly rage like our ancestors have cautioned us? With this information in mind, you'd understand why we are determined to distribute truth-clarification materials to the Chinese people, to share with them factual information about Falun Gong, and to reveal Jiang Zemin's lies. We are trying with everything we can to pull people that have fallen prey to Jiang Zemin's lies back from the edge of the cliff, from the brink of disaster."

"One practitioner I know was fired from his government job because he was determined in cultivating in Falun Gong. He found a part-time job offering only minimal wage. Still, he saves money on his food expenses, and never has a decent meal. When he finally saved 300 yuan, he used all of it to make truth-clarification materials." [The current average urban worker's salary is 500 yuan/month in China].

When I finished telling my friend these stories, his eyes became moist with tears. I know in my heart that every practitioner thinks of the people who have not learned the truth about Falun Gong each day. Despite the fact that practitioners are enduring tremendous torment from the persecution, they are saving every penny from their humble incomes to make truth-clarification materials. They walk from one street to another tirelessly only to share with people the truth about Falun Gong, to save them from Jiang Zemin's lies, and to prevent them from falling to the same tragic fate as Niu Zhenhua.
