Factory Manager is Abducted, Over 60 Employees Come to His Defense and Are Also Persecuted

Dafa practitioner Tian Shihong, the manager of Grapery Factory in Wendeng City in Shandong Province (Address: Dongfang Village, Wencheng Town of Wendeng City) was illegally arrested by local police and "610 Office" on July 6 for practicing Falun Gong. Over 60 workers in the factory strongly opposed this act. The employees started attempted to remove the handcuffs from this good person's hands, but the police attacked the workers brutally. Many workers were injured and some were even beaten until they lost consciousness. Later on, the employees went to the Appeals Office of Wendeng City together in order to rescue their manager, but the head of the police department and the secretary of the politics and law committee forcibly dispersed them. Ten workers were illegally detained and Mr. Tian Shihong was sentenced to 3 years of forced-labor.

On May 10, 2004, because Mr. Tian Shihong explained the truth of Falun Dafa to people, the "610 Office" of Wendeng Police Department illegally arrested him. During the detention, the Police Department of Wendeng City secretly broke into Mr. Tian's home and illegally confiscated the computer that Mr. Tian's daughter used for study. Eight days later, Mr. Tian left the detention center with righteous thoughts and was forced to become homeless.

Around May 20, the "610 Office" of Wendeng Police Department went to the factory where Mr. Tian worked, and caused interference there, and they also searched the whole factory.

In July, Mr. Tian went back to the factory. On July 6, the police of Wendeng City suddenly arrested Mr. Tian in broad daylight and aroused the condemnation and firm resistance from over 60 of his employees. These workers all said, "Our manager is a good person and you cannot arrest good people!" However, the followers of Jiang still acted willfully. The employees started the grinding wheels hoping to break the handcuffs that were on the hands of Mr. Tian, who cultivates Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance). The splashing sparks burned and injured workers' arms, but those workers just ignored it and they only thought about saving Mr. Tian. Those policemen found the situation was not so good. They started beating the workers, and they used their cellular phones to call for help. Shortly after, a few police cars and a group of police arrived and treated the workers brutally. Some workers' faces were injured in the beating, some almost lost their consciousness, and the whole scene looked horrible. In the end, the policemen still took away Mr. Tian and one female worker.

After Mr. Tian and that female worker were taken away, in order to ask for justice, these workers exercised their citizen's rights that were endowed by the Chinese Constitution to appeal. These workers went to the Appeals Office of Wendeng City to ask for justice for Mr. Tian and that female practitioner and also proved that they are good people. The employees patiently waited for over 2 hours at the Appeals Office. But what surprised them was that Liu Xinjiang, the deputy secretary of the City politics and law committee, Liu Chunxi, the head of police department, the head of the Huanshan Road Police Station, and the head of the detention center, Wang Conglun, led over 60 policemen to forcibly scatter the 50-60 workers that went to appeal, and illegally arrested and detained 10 responsible people from the factory. In addition, one elderly person of nearly 80 years of age and one lady who took a child with her were fined 200 Yuan each before they were released.

Workers that were detained include:

Li Shuyun, the wife of Mr. Tian Shihong, 15 days' detention;
Mi Zhiru, the manager assistant, 15 days' detention;
Li Hongli, the workshop director, 10 days' detention;
Xu Xinye, the workshop director, 10 days' detention;
Sui Jilin, the workshop director, 10 days' detention;
Feng Yongjiang, driver, 10 days' detention;
Li Cheng, worker, 15 days' detention;
Chu Chenggang, 15 days' detention;
Li Jincai, 15 days' detention;
Tian Mingjun, 10 days' detention.

On July 8, Dafa practitioner Tian Shihong was illegally sentenced to 3 years of forced-labor and sent to the Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo City in Shandong Province.

It was learned that since 2001, the police and "610 Office" of Wendeng City often harassed Mr. Tian Shihong. Mr. Tian left the brainwashing class with righteous thoughts after being on hunger strike for 9 days. The workers could not tolerate such unreasonable and unlawful persecution of good people and argued strongly with reason with the police, but in the end were treated with the wild assault by the policemen in Wendeng City.

Such brutal actions that trample human rights without consideration of consequences took place under the direction of the head of Police Department of Wendeng City and the secretary of the Politics and Law Committee, and it happened during the period when the Supreme Procuratorate had decided to seriously investigate the human rights violations by people in power.

Due to the Wendeng police's kidnapping and persecution, the Grapery Factory became almost bankrupt. Over 60 workers faced the crisis of losing their jobs. But this crisis was caused by the staff of the local government that followed Jiang's regime and participated in the persecution of Falun Gong.

We appeal to all levels of Procuratorates as well as all forces of justice overseas and inside China, to pay attention to the plight of Dafa practitioner Mr. Tian Shihong and all detained Dafa practitioners, restrain those police and people according to the law, and return justice to the law.
