Exposing an Injustice: The Lie of Duan Yulan Killing Her Husband

(Clearwisdom.net) The intentionally falsified claim that Duan Yulan killed her husband was once widely spread as propaganda by TV stations and other media in China. But it was actually just a deception fabricated by those following Jiang's orders to defame Falun Gong.

Ms. Duan Yulan was from Jingmen, Jingzhou Disctrict, Hubei Province. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal against the injustices thrust upon Falun Gong and its practitioners. The local 610 Office [1] and police station illegally arrested, detained and persecuted her. They held her against her will and against international standards for human rights in the Second Brigade of the Shayang Female Labor Camp in Hubei Province. I was also detained there and lived in the same cell as she for over six months. Yulan shared that she practiced Falun Gong and improved her character to others many times. She also exposed the falsified propaganda that she killed her husband.

Before Ms. Duan Yulan started to cultivate Falun Dafa, she had a very miserable family life. Her husband had a very bad temper and was very cruel. He frequently beat her and scolded her for no reason. There was one time when her husband beat her so badly that she could no longer take it. She grabbed a kitchen knife and injured her husband. Later she divorced him. All these things happened before she started to practice Falun Gong.

After some time, she became married to her present husband. After she remarried, she started to practice Falun Gong. After she practiced Falun Gong, she regretted injuring her ex-husband. She said, "It is not right to combat violence with violence. When spouses have conflicts between each other, they should have tolerance and resolve their issues calmly. If I had started cultivation earlier, things like that would not have happened. Cultivation of Falun Dafa helped me to get rid of my hatred. It is Falun Dafa that taught me how to be a good person."

At that time, she told people her story as an example of how she improved her character after cultivating Falun Dafa. She wanted to tell people that Falun Dafa was good. When she was clarifying the truth to the guards and policemen in the labor camp, she told many of them the story of injuring her ex-husband with a kitchen knife before she refined her character through the practice of Falun Dafa.

Afterwards, because of the long-term high-pressure persecution, she surrendered to Jiang's henchmen and was "transformed" against her will [2]. The story of her injuring her ex-husband with a kitchen knife before cultivating Falun Gong was used by the 610 Office in Hubei province and some local policemen to fabricate the story that she had killed her husband. It was a rumor created to frame Falun Dafa. In the fabricated lie, it was said that Duan Yulan killed her husband with a kitchen knife because she practiced Falun Gong and went insane.

Actually, Jiang's followers have fabricated many shocking rumors to frame and defame Falun Gong practitioners since July 20, 1999. These include the "Tiananmen self¨Cimmolation", "suicide", "killings" and so on. The rumor that Duan Yulan killed her husband was not the first lie. It is just one of the many lies fabricated by those following Jiang's orders.

[2] "Transformed people" are the people whose minds have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture by Jiang Zemin's regime.
