Chicago Area Minghui School Officially Founded
By a Falun Dafa Practitioner in Chicago, United States
(Clearwisdom.net) On July 31, 2004, the Chicago area Minghui School was
officially founded. With the guidance of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and
Forbearance," it mainly teaches Chinese and introduces Chinese traditional
culture. The school also teaches Falun Gong exercises and organizes children's
activities such as handcraft, singing, dancing, games, etc. The school leads the
students to participate in many activities, giving kids a chance to be in a
group environment. They share and help each other, forming a cultivation
environment in which these young practitioners can improve themselves together. Right now, the kids are studying how to write "Falun Dafa is good" in
Chinese, and started learning how to write "Lunyu", the foreword of Zhuan
Falun (the main text of Falun Gong), in Chinese as well. In addition, they
read Zhuan Falun in Chinese for one hour each day. The students have also learned how to sing the Chinese song "Coming for you."
They will learn how to play the traditional Chinese waist drum and how to make
paper lotus flowers. The kids also participated in the Children's International Games in
Cleveland, Ohio this year. They told children from other areas and countries
about "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" and that Falun Dafa is good. Students from the Minghui School also organize parties. They invited some
non-practitioner kids to join them, and share their experiences on learning
"Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." In the future, the Minghui School will
admit children from the general public. On January 6, 2001, the first Minghui School was founded in Washington D.C.
Many Minghui Schools have been opened around the world since then. For example,
there are Minghui Schools in Sydney, Melbourne, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa,
Thailand, Tokyo, Seoul, and many cities in Taiwan. In the United States, there
are Minghui Schools in New York City, Atlanta, Houston, New Jersey, Minnesota,
and Colorado.
