Authorities in Chongqing City Step up the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Advance of Jiang's Visit


(Clearwisdom.net) Several days ago, Jiang Zemin came to visit the city of Chongqing surrounded by Sichuan Province. Before his visit, the Chongqing authorities stepped up the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and detained many practitioners.

Deng Xu is the provost of the Baiyun Elementary School in Yubei District of Chongqing. He has worked very hard to help students, and is well loved and respected by students and their parents. Since he is also a practitioner, he persists in clarifying the truth and promoting Falun Gong. He used his own savings and purchased computers to make various truth-clarification materials, and passed them to fellow practitioners for them to distribute.

On August 12, 2004, Deng Xue was arrested by police while delivering truth-clarification materials. When the police came to arrest him, he was not afraid at all. Instead, he condemned their evil deeds and loudly shouted "Falun Dafa is a righteous way."

The police were extremely frightened, and they beat him in front of the local folks, who watched the entire event. Deng Xu bled profusely. The local folks were very indignant, and they condemned the police. The police then took away Deng Xu and fled.

We call upon fellow practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts to support practitioners who are arrested and detained.
