I am a Falun Dafa practitioner who has had the precious opportunity to attend two of Master Li Hongzhi's Fa lectures series. Let me say from my own experiences and tell people around the world: Falun Dafa is truly great!

1. The miracle that happened to me when I first learned Falun Dafa

I was physically weak since childhood. My mother often took me to doctors in various places. My admission to elementary school was postponed as I was not able to walk until I was six or seven years old due to weak bones. Later I had to give up my teaching career due to illness. One day, during the first Chinese lunar month in 1994, a friend of mine mentioned Falun Gong during a conversation. The three Chinese characters, Fa-lun-Gong, lit up in my mind and right away I had the urge to read the book. In the past I have always been quite stubborn and refused to believe in anything. However, the book Falun Gong immediately changed my perspective. With the plainest words, this book has revealed the immense Fa (1) and principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and imbued new content into the traditional legacy of physical cultivation. The discussions on the cosmos, time-space, life, substance, and the origin of humankind intrigued me by its broadness and depth. What's even more valuable is that this is the righteous Fa, which places emphasis on the restoration of virtue and the enhancement of character. These were my initial understandings of the book. I cried in my heart: This is truly the genuine Buddha Fa that I have been longing for. My mind, which had been sealed off, was cleansed, purified, and elevated. So I sat up the whole night to copy down the exercise instructions and started practicing.

Then a miracle happened. All my illnesses, including being underweight, heart problems, numbness over half of my body, shaking, severe shortage of blood platelets, near-sightedness and other eye problems including loss of focus, all went away. I was even able to get rid of my eyeglasses. The feeling of emerging out of years of torment through illness could simply not be expressed by words. I gained over 20 pounds in just one month. A healthy glow replaced my sickly-colored face. I was able to stand straight and became energetic. It was a like I was reborn. It is Master Li who gave me a new life.

What I admire most is the profound Fa and principles that teach people to be virtuous, kind, live dignified lives, and strive to be the best person one can be. This is a fountain of blessings for those who live in this world of deteriorating moral standards but who continue to hold onto traditional values. I never thought about curing my illnesses by practicing Falun Gong. However, I was able to say goodbye to all my illnesses and have had no need for medication ever since. I started to look much younger than others my age. My colleagues, friends, and schoolmates were all surprised by my change. They asked me for my secret and I told them with pride that this was the magnificence of Falun Dafa. Witnessing my change, many of my relatives have also started practicing Falun Dafa.

My husband was the happiest about the restoration of my health. He attributed my recovery to Falun Gong whenever he ran into his friends. He also asked my friend who introduced Falun Gong to me to take me with her whenever she would have an opportunity to meet Master Li. Falun Gong has benefited my entire family, and the whole family is grateful to Master Li. My 12-year-old son wrote down with great care in his diary: The person I respect most is Master Li Hongzhi.

2. Meeting Master Li

At the end of April 1994 a rare and precious opportunity came along and I went to Changchun City, Jilin Province to attend the seventh session of Master's Fa lecture series. I was able to listen to Master's lecture with my own ears and see Master with my own eyes. Those were the most important and most precious moments of my life. The auditorium in Jilin University was packed. People from all over China, of diverse ethnic backgrounds, from various social groups, all listened quietly and with immeasurable respect. Tears were in their eyes. The two-hour lecture was interrupted every now and then by warm applause. Here people found the path that would lead them to the final destiny of being human -- the returning to one's origin and true self.

Master Li not only teaches Falun Dafa practitioners to cultivate their character, he sets an example for all practitioners. He always arrived half an hour before the start of the lecture to talk with students and answer any questions they might have. He was kind, peaceful, and compassionate. Although it was a demanding job to lecture on the Fa every day, Master always granted the students' requests to take pictures after the lecture. Only a few people from my area went to the lecture and thus I was concerned that we would not be able to take a picture with Master. I wrote a note to Master expressing our wish. Consequently, we were asked to stay after the lecture was over. Master stood in the middle and smiled while a picture was taken. Master also told the student taking the pictures to accept payment to only cover costs. It was not allowed to make money off of other students. The character and the moral nature of the students were elevated. They were as close to each other as a family. Everyone tried to behave as a practitioner. They respected the elderly, took care of the young, were courteous toward one another, and returned all valuables that were lost. A fellow practitioner who went there with me lost her bag in the auditorium in a rush to catch the train. When she got back to the auditorium everyone was gone. She was surprised to find that other students had left it on the stage. We were all greatly moved. Master has said that Falun Gong is a land of purity.

Ten days went by fast. I remember that during this memorable trip to Changchun, we could not sleep at night. We had so much to tell Master, and on our own accords, all of us wrote down our true feelings. Even those students who could hardly write did their best to write down what was on their minds. That scene made me feel so encouraged. I wrote these words to Master: "This is what I have been looking for. I will practice diligently. No matter what difficulties or dangers down the road, I will walk down my path all the way to the end. I promise to live up to the great name of Falun Dafa practitioner and never bring disgrace to Master. I will share the greatness and beauty of Falun Dafa with loved ones."

3. Falun Dafa has blessed my entire family

My eldest brother is a cadre who joined the Party several decades ago. He was still weak from a chest operation when he heard that I went to Changchun to learn Falun Gong. He became interested and picked up my copy of Falun Gong. He could not put it down and followed the instructions to do the exercises. As a result, he quickly recovered from the operation.

There was widespread food-poisoning in our area and a lot of people suffered. Even his son, who was healthy and strong, was taken to the hospital. But he himself was spared, which amazed his colleagues.

Soon after I returned from Changchun, I went to visit my mother. I missed the train and decided to ride a bicycle to her home twelve miles away. Mother asked me whether I took the bus or train, and I told her I rode a bicycle. She thought I was kidding, but when she spotted my bicycle in the yard, she was shocked. She couldn't imagine that her daughter who would become breathless while climbing only three flights of stairs could travel such a distance by bicycle. My mother burst into tears. Her gratitude to Master Li Hongzhi then brought many miracles to her courtyard.

Mother cried frequently when my eldest brother joined the army, and her eyesight deteriorated severely when she reached her fifties. Now in her eighties, after practicing Falun Dafa she is able to thread a needle and stitch quilts by hand. Others praised her health, and she gave all the praise to Falun Dafa.

My youngest brother worked in damp conditions and as a result the muscles in part of his body became withered. He limped and could not climb over a step, or get onto a train. He looked much older than his forty years of age. He could no longer go to work and lived on medication. After practicing Falun Gong, his condition improved significantly. He quit smoking and drinking, and his appetite was restored. In 1994, when walls on all sides of our yard crumbled after a flood, my youngest brother, who just returned from Harbin where he learned Falun Gong, was able to rebuild all the walls from the ground up. Now he is in his fifties and is healthier than those who are younger. He went back to work and was awarded the title of a model worker for several years of his accomplishments. His colleagues all called him by the nickname "super kind man" for the high standards he set for himself by following the guidance Master Li gave Falun Dafa practitioners.

My older sister every now and then suffered from severe dizziness. When she was ill, she kept vomiting and could not get out of bed for days. She dared not ride in any vehicle. After practicing Falun Gong, her illness disappeared. She traveled by train for a dozen hours to Changchun to learn Falun Gong. Her dizziness never returned in the ten years since she started practicing Falun Gong.

My little niece was having a hard time keeping up with her schoolwork due to chronic headaches. She had to remain in the fourth grade for two consecutive years. When she was in junior high, she started practicing Falun Gong with the rest of the family. Her grades improved so much that she ranked among the top students in school. Upon graduation from junior high, she was admitted to both a prominent senior high school and a professional school.

4. An entire family under persecution for practicing Falun Gong

The miracles Falun Gong has brought to my family are too numerous to tell. Friends and relatives have all witnessed the changes we have gone through and they all marveled at the wonders of Falun Dafa. Jiang Zemin's lies could only deceive those who haven't been exposed to the truth. With ulterior motives, Jiang's regime started its suppression of innocent people. Our family, like millions upon millions families in China, has remained under persecution. On the night of September 11, 2002, my brother was abducted and taken to the local police station. He kept telling the officers the truth about Falun Dafa, but was brutally beaten in return. He was thrown into a detention center for over fifty days and released only after several leaders in his workplace pooled the money to bail him out. Many Falun Dafa practitioners were detained by local police prior to the Sixteenth National Party Congress (on November 7). One practitioner broke her leg and was nevertheless carried to the detention center on a stretcher. My brother, sister, and niece were also abducted and remained under detention for fifteen days. My niece had been taken into the police station and the detention center numerous times in the past five years for her steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. Each time she managed to escape with righteous thoughts in mind. Because she practiced Falun Dafa, she never received a raise in salary despite her outstanding work.

In 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was held in a detention center for fifteen days. The police took the 3,000 yuan (2) I was carrying. Even back then, a lot of people knew the reason why Jiang wanted to persecute Falun Gong, but they were too scared to speak out. Even a kind-hearted police officer in the detention center said, "This has always been a facility for criminals. Bringing so many good people here is shameful to our country." Officials from the local police station and residents' committee have often shown up at my home or my work unit to harass and threaten our family. Neighbors and colleagues have all expressed their indignation at the unfair treatment we have endured.
