Gong Zhenqing from Jilin City Suffered a Relapse and Passed Away after Being Forced to Renounce Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Gong Zhenqing, male, 45, was from Jilin City, Jilin Province. His home was at Apt # 409, Building No. 29, Residence of Jihua Petroleum Refinery in Yushu Street, Longtan District in Jilin City. He started to practice Falun Gong in October of 1996 and his physical health improved in many ways.

In November 2000, the police station at Jihua Petroleum Refinery kidnapped Gong Zhenqing and detained him for 15 days.

Only half a month after Mr. Gong was released, the police station tried to force Mr. Gong Zhenqing to give up practicing Falun Gong again, but Mr. Gong refused. Then the police station sent Mr. Gong Zhenqing to the No. 3 Detention Center of Jilin City. After a month in the detention center, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor at Huanxinling Labor Camp in Jilin City. Mr. Gong's health suffered a lot due to the persecution he endured in the labor camp, and he was bailed out for medical treatment.

During his recovery at home, Mr. Gong received pressure from his family to give up practicing Falun Dafa. Policemen from the local police station also went to harass him often, threatening and intimidating him, which made Mr. Gong Zhenqing unable to practice the exercises and study Falun Dafa books peacefully. Mr. Gong Zhenqing was harassed so many times that he was seriously traumatized physically and mentally and he finally gave up his practice of Falun Dafa.

In the last few years after he gave up the practice, Mr. Gong began to suffer relapses of old diseases, including uremia. Starting from May 1, 2004, he could not eat any food. Local Dafa practitioners talked with him and he began to deeply regret giving up the practice.

On June 15, 2004, Mr. Gong Zhenqing wrote a solemn statement and expressed his will to resume his practice of Falun Dafa, to double his efforts to make up for lost time and become a genuine cultivator. However, because he had quit practicing for such a long time, his health continued deteriorating. He passed away at home at 11 p.m. on the evening of June 22, 2004.

The following is the solemn statement of Mr. Zhenqing Gong:

My name is Gong Zhenqing, and I am 45 years old. I started to cultivate Falun Gong in October 1996 and my health improved tremendously as a result.

However, in November of 2000, the police station at Jihua Petroleum Refinery kidnapped me along with 8-9 other Dafa practitioners, including Huang Guangyu, Shang Chunguang etc., and took us to the police station. The policemen also confiscated some truth-clarifying materials and reported my kidnapping to the security department of my factory. Security department head Dou tried to force me to tell them the source of the materials. I refused to tell them, so he then kicked me and beat my head. Subsequently, I was detained for 15 days.

Just two weeks after I was released and went back home, the police station came to harass me again and pressured me to give up practicing Falun Gong. I refused to cooperate with them, so the police station sent me to the No. 3 Detention Center of Jilin City. After one month in the detention center, I was sentenced to one year of forced labor. In the labor camp, all the detained Dafa practitioners started a hunger strike together to resist the persecution. Policemen used many electric batons to wildly shock practitioners, and they beat and kicked us for a long time. Many practitioners were beaten so fiercely that few areas on their bodies were left uninjured. Some detained criminals were stunned and even frightened to tears after witnessing such brutality. After I was sent home from the labor camp, due to my strong attachment of fear, I could not focus on studying Falun Dafa teachings. The police station also came to my home to harass me often and made me unable to practice. As a result, my old illnesses recurred and I have been unable to recover. I wish to double my efforts and become a genuine Dafa practitioner.
