Montreal Anti-Torture Exhibition: Canadian Policeman Condemns Jiang and the Chinese Police Who Take Part in the Persecution (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) On August 1, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Montreal
held an anti-torture exhibition at the Mont-Royal Subway station to expose the
Jiang group's brutal persecution of practitioners. Because the station is
located inside a famous tourist attraction, people came to view the exhibition
in an endless stream. Many viewed the posters and real-life models carefully and
signed postcards in support of bringing Jiang to Justice. Some also learned
Falun Gong at the exhibition site, some burst into tears when they were watching
the exhibition. After viewing the exhibition, a police officer who was
patrolling the area expressed his outrage over Jiang and condemned the Chinese
police who participated in the persecution.
China Doesn't Have Freedom of Expression While viewing the exhibition, a young lady told the reporter in Chinese
that her father is a Canadian diplomat in Beijing and she thus lived in
Beijing for two years. She said: "In China, Chinese are not allowed
to talk about Falun Gong. However, I knew about it because I had a
reporter friend. My friend told me about Falun Gong and he also told me
that they (the western reporters) had been told not to report on Falun
Gong." The Sharp Contrast Between Canadian Police and Chinese Police During the exhibition, two police cars came to the site. Police
officers first listened to practitioners' introduction about the
exhibition and the persecution, and then viewed every poster and the
real-life torture models carefully. They helped practitioners to
reposition the posters and took some truth-clarifying CDs and other
materials when they left. After learning that Jiang encourages Chinese police to use more than
100 torture methods on practitioners, one police officer was shocked. He
said: "Jiang is so inhuman, he will go to hell. Police should protect
citizens but they treat good peoples so brutally. It is hard to
imagine." He then asked: "How can I help you?" A
practitioner then told him that the best way to help is to let more people
know the truth. He then said that he would try his best to help end this
persecution and he would tell his coworkers, relatives and friends as well
as his supervisors about the persecution. In the end, he said: "Thank
you so much for telling me the truth of Falun Gong. Otherwise, I wouldn't
know the persecution is so severe." All Kind-hearted People Condemn the Persecution When seeing a "Chinese Policeman" pressing a practitioner's
head with an electric baton, a western lady yelled at him, "Don't do
that!" "Don't do that!" At another scene, an elderly woman was very angry with the
"Chinese Police" and asked: "Why you do this to her (an
elderly female practitioner who was acting as a real-life model)?"
She also asked the practitioner: "Do you voluntarily do this?"
The practitioner answered: "Yes. Many Falun Gong practitioners in
China are being tortured like this, I know you are a good person. Please
help us." The lady said: "Sure, I'll sign the petition
now." A young fellow is a forest conservationist. After viewing the
exhibition, he commented: "The persecution is to cut down all the
"cultural forests" passed down from ancient times. Why do they
persecute such a good thing?" People Supports The Righteous Campaign to Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice
Practitioners prepared postcards for citizens to express their support
to bring Jiang Zemin to justice. A western gentleman said: "I never thought that such atrocities
could still happen in the 21st century. I must sign." Ms. Helisa wrote on a postcard: "Stop the persecution. Sending
good people to prisons is anti humanity." Kakov wrote: "I stand with all Falun Gong practitioners." Another gentleman wrote: "I sincerely hope that we will win this
lawsuit." A viewer wrote: "This persecution is an attack on all human being.
Attorney General Cotler should remember the Holocaust." A catholic nun viewed the exhibition and then came to sign her name.
She said: "I can't believe such a terrible thing is happening. I will
pray for the end of the persecution." People in succession came to sign; sometime there was even a waiting
line. The postcards soon ran out. Viewing the people's pure hearts to
support Falun Gong, a practitioner had a good idea: He bought a 5m long
cloth and laid it on ground for people to sign. Many people then
immediately kneeled down to sign. It was very touching. A western lady around 30 years old said: "Though I have a
different faith, I can see you are good people and your belief in
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. I support you." After signing her name in support of bringing Jiang to justice, another
lady asked: "Will my signature change the situation? A practitioner
who was illegally detained in China and was later rescued to Canada told
her: "Every signature is like a drop of water, and all the signatures
of kind-hearted people will then form a sea of justice that will end the
persecution." Your Efforts Are for Others Christine told practitioners: "You have done a great thing, your
efforts are for others. To stop this persecution relates to everyone. I
will tell my friends and relatives come to help as well." Ms. Assegra told practitioners: "I know what is happening in
China. I thank you for showcasing the persecution and letting more people
know about the persecution. Falun Gong is good, thank you for bringing it
to Quebec.
