Sydney, Australia: Reenacting Torture Methods to Expose Jiang's Evil Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 31 and August 1, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Sydney held a live mock torture exhibition to provide more people with an opportunity to learn about the brutal persecution of innocent people who believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance."

The exhibit was held in a public park in front of City Hall, near the local shopping center, just opposite from Liverpool Road where a stream of people continuously passed by. Besides the reenactment of torture methods and display boards explaining the torture methods, practitioners also prepared a variety of materials for truth clarification and collected signatures in support of Falun Gong. In addition, explanations introducing Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful journey were continuously broadcast with the accompaniment of solemn and moving music. On the other side of the exhibition site, a group of Western practitioners were performing songs composed by Dafa practitioners. The entire scene was very touching, attracting many people to stop and watch. When people saw Falun Gong practitioners reenact the brutal methods used to torture practitioners in Mainland China, they could not believe their eyes, and were astonished that such things could even occur in the 21^st Century. When practitioners explained to the public that those practitioners suffer brutal persecution in China simply because they refuse to renounce their belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," many people took the initiative to sign their names on the petition and expressed that such terrorist acts must be stopped immediately.

An older Australian woman who was in her 70s, walked over to us and said, "This persecution is too cruel. I've known all about you, and also witnessed your unceasing efforts and your peacefulness over the past few years. You will definitely triumph." Another two people from Australia told a practitioner who played the role of a prison guard, "We Australian people welcome you Falun Gong practitioners, and we hope that all Falun Gong practitioners in China who suffer persecution can come to Australia. We welcome you." Another man said he could hear the practitioners' music and singing about "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" from across the exhibition site. "It's wonderful!" he said.

Ashfield is an area where Chinese people live and gather in Sydney, and there are many snack bars and drugstores across from City Hall, run by new immigrants from China. Many Chinese people visit the area daily, and on such a fine and sunny weekend, there were Chinese people there, shopping and eating out. Most of them were astonished and carefully viewed the anti-torture exhibition, and many people took truth clarification materials before leaving. Practitioners noticed that through these years' truth clarification, many Chinese people whose minds have been poisoned by the vicious propaganda and lies of the Jiang regime have begun to understand and now see the persecution more clearly. Their attitudes have changed tremendously, and quite a few Chinese people dared to sign their names on the petition in support of Falun Dafa. A man in his 30s who brought his son said, "The Party is truly evil, Jiang can do anything malicious. What you are doing is right, you must expose it." Another older Chinese man from China said quietly to our practitioners, "I've known all about the persecution of Falun Gong. My friends in China practice Falun Gong and we are clear about everything."

Clarifying the truth and collecting signatures

Practitioners patiently answered different kinds of questions and guided people to understand the truth. When meeting with people whose minds had been seriously poisoned, practitioners used their compassion to melt their misunderstanding. A young woman from Shanghai who married a westerner didn't understand our anti-torture exhibition, and said, "You're causing the Chinese people to lose face." Our practitioners told her, "It is Jiang's faction, that committed these crimes, that should be ashamed. Falun Gong practitioners love the country and the Chinese people. What we oppose is only the persecution. Covering up crimes cannot make our country become better. Exposing and stopping the inhuman behavior, stopping more tragedies from occurring, that is being responsible to the country and to the people. Falun Gong practitioners persist in righteous principles and uphold justice, which is the manifestation of being patriotic. The practitioners' kind explanation helped the woman accept the truth at last. She said that she would tell her family and her business clients that all this is true. She stayed for a while and took some truth clarification materials and then said goodbye to practitioners. Practitioners were pleased to see more Chinese people learn the truth.

Practitioners who played the different roles in the exhibition had to exchange roles due to being short of hands, so they didn't have time to take a rest. Practitioners who took care of logistic also quietly did what they could do. All the practitioners maintained a compassionate and pure state of mind during the entire two day activity.
