Dafa Practitioners from Taiwan Travel to the US for the Washington DC Conference and Boston Parade (Photos)

As early as this past March, some practitioners in Taiwan realized the
importance of this year's Washington DC Experience Sharing Conference in July
and started to contact fellow practitioners who didn't come out often or who
had never been to other countries, to share their understanding. Soon, they
organized groups to go to Taipei to apply for visas to the U.S. Amazingly,
when a U.S. diplomat noticed that they were Falun Gong practitioners, he said
that all Falun Gong practitioners could come to his window to apply for visas.
The application was surprisingly smooth, and practitioners all got their visas
the next morning. Because there were a lot practitioners, they had to fly to Washington DC on
different dates. The first group participated in the press conference on
Capitol Hill, the Great Wall of Courage project and the candlelight vigil. The
second group was barely able to catch the conference. The third group,
however, had a lot tribulation: Their flight was first delayed in Taiwan, and
then practitioners were separated into different flights in Malaysia by
airline staff. As a result, friends and family members were all separated from
each other. While working on self-cultivation, such as eliminating
attachments, practitioners also started to send righteous thoughts to
eliminate interference. Because of the delays, the third group didn't make it to the DC conference;
however, they somehow reunited with other practitioners at a highway rest
area. Though they deeply regretted missing the conference, they were still
very happy to join the others to participate in the Boston parade. On the buses, practitioners sent righteous thoughts, recited "Lunyu"
and studied Zhuan Falun and Hong Yin II (1). Sometimes,
practitioners sang Dafa songs together. In Boston, the Taiwanese practitioners performed the famous Mt. Ali Dance
and Kejia Umbrella Dance during the parade and participated in an anti-torture
exhibition. It is worth mentioning that the Taiwanese practitioners only had
three days to learn the dance. They went to Ali Mountain to learn the dance
and practiced about 2 hours every day. The Kejia Dance performance was even
more amazing, as the practitioners didn't get their dance costumes until the
day before they left Taiwan, and only got a chance to practice the dance on
the night before the parade. Despite all the difficulty, they gave a real
outstanding performance during the parade. After the activities in Boston, the Taiwanese practitioners went to Niagara
Falls, as they knew that there would be a lot of Chinese tourists there. The
group of over 100 practitioners then divided into two parts: one started to
practice the exercises, the other half took every opportunity to talk with
Chinese people. The scene was really magnificent. Because the hotel where the practitioners were staying was quite close to
the Falls, practitioners went to the Falls to practice the exercises in the
mornings. Some practitioners taught the Falun Gong exercises at the site, and
many people came to learn. One small girl could assume the double lotus
position right away! Some practitioners discovered that a nearby hotel had some Mainland Chinese
guests. Besides practicing at the Falls, some practitioners then went to
practice Falun Gong at a site facing that hotel. A few practitioners also
approached those Chinese people to greet them and give them Falun Gong
truth-clarifying materials. On the way back, practitioners went to the Statue of Liberty and sent
righteous thoughts in front of the Chinese Consulate in New York. Every
morning, practitioners met outside to practice together; every night,
practitioners studied the Fa (2) and exchanged understandings together in
their hotel rooms. At each place they visited, practitioners distributed
flyers while wearing the yellow Dafa T-shirts. The trip to the U.S.
strengthened practitioners' understanding of the importance of cooperating as
a whole body. (1) Zhuan Falun comprises the main teachings of Falun Dafa, "Lunyu"
is the introduction to Zhuan Falun, and Hong Yin II is the
second volume of Master Li's poetry. (2) Fa: Law and principles; the teachings of Falun Dafa.
