Mr. Chu Defu is from the town of Gongkouzi, Qingyuan County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. On May 25, 2003, police from the Panjing City Police Department of the National Security Unit, arrested Chu from his rented apartment in Shuangtaize District, Panjing City. The police also took 57,200 yuan (1) from the apartment and have not returned the money. On March 5, 2004, the Shuangtaizi District Court sentenced Mr. Chu to eleven and a half years in prison. He was sent to Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province in the beginning of July.

On July 17, 2004, two practitioners from Qinhuangdao were arrested while handing out truth-clarifying materials in the Kaifa District by the police from Unit #110. One of them was sent back home due to health reasons; the other is being detained at the No. 1 Detention Center in Qinhuangdao City.

On July 22, 2004, the police broke into Ms. Li Yumei's home after she kept them out for six hours. They arrested Ms. Li and took her to the police station. There were six or seven police and two police vehicles involved in this incident. It is believed that their intention was to find the production source of truth-clarifying materials.

Li Yumei was illegally sent to a forced labor camp for two years before. During her incarceration, she was subjected to various torture methods such as being shocked with electric batons, and being hung and beaten, etc. But her righteous thoughts were always strong and firm. Her husband left her and re-married while she was in prison. Li's jail sentence was extended and when she got out she was still being subjected to harassment. During the SARS epidemic, she was sent to the city brainwashing center where she protested by going on a hunger strike. After four days, she had a high fever and was sent back home. After that, she had to leave home for one year to avoid illegal arrest and further persecution'. She was unable to see her father for the last time before he passed away. During that period of time, the police also tried to locate her whereabouts. In May of 2004, she returned to her hometown with righteous intentions to save sentient beings.

Ms. Mo Ping is around 20 years old. She had previously been sent to a forced labor camp. At the end of May 2004, she was reported to the police while passing out flyers that explained the facts of the persecution in Shizuishan City, Ningxia. On June 5, the police arrested her again, and she is now currently being detained at the Shizuishan City No. 1 Detention Center.

Tongliao City Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Xiurong was arrested by the local police and has refused to cooperate with them. She has been taken to an unknown location by Tongliao City's "610 Office."(2) Policeman Shao Jun told Ms. Liu's second daughter, Tian Xin, "If you want find your mom, call these two people." Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Lingru was an employee at the Jinzhong Prison in Mancheng County, Hebei Province. She was detained at the Baoding City Detention Center for one year and nine months. After going on a hunger strike for over a month at the detention center, they were afraid taking responsibility for her, so they transferred her to the Hebei Taihang Prison where she has continued her hunger strike. On July 8, she was again transferred to the No. 2 Prison in Shijiazhuang City.

Ms. Zhao Lingru was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Baoding City Nanshi District Court. She is still on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She is extremely weak, and her physical condition is cause for concern.

Anshan City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Low Yan has been imprisoned at the Shenyang City Jail. There she was tortured until her life was in danger. The prison then released her for medical treatment. After she recovered she was again taken to the Shenyang City Jail (originally called Shenyang Dabei Prison). Two police from the Songsan City Police Station visited Ms. Low a few days ago. They took her to the police station for questioning. On her way back home, several unidentified people forcefully took her back to the Shenyang City Jail.

In other news, Anshan City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun Guijuan was again taken by the police, and her whereabouts are currently unknown. Ms. Sun was previously kept in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp where her life was put in danger due to the persecution she has been subjected to. She was released for medical treatment about a year ago.

Banners and posters designed to defame Falun Dafa recently appeared around the town of Mawang, in Jiulongpo District. On July 16, 2004, in the morning around 4:00 a.m., practitioner Ms. Li Hongrong went to Mawang Elementary School and cut down the defamatory banners there. She was arrested by police who were waiting for her there and was taken to the Mawang Police Station. She conducted a hunger strike at the police station. On July 20, she walked out with righteous thoughts. One day after she returned home, she was again taken to the police station. Her current condition is unknown.

On July 21, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Qi Hongyi and Mr. Liu Zhiyong were arrested by the police from Yulou Police Station for hanging up speakers that broadcast the facts of the persecution against Falun Dafa. When practitioners Qi Hongyu and Liu Yuxiao went to the police station demanding their release, they too were detained and sent to the Panjing Bohai Detention Center.

On July 22, 2004, Qi Hongyu had a sudden heart attack and was released.

Baoding City Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Shuxian is an employee of a film factory in Baoding City. Because she clarified the truth about Falun Gong at work, one of her male co-workers started practicing Falun Gong. He was also actively involved in clarifying the truth about the persecution. He was caught by the factory security posting Dafa materials. After being interrogated, he told them that the materials came from Ms. Liu Shuxian.

On June 23, 2004, police from the Tianwei Police Station arrested Ms. Liu from her workplace. They also videotaped the office at the film factory. Afterward, they searched and ransacked Ms. Liu's home and confiscated Dafa related books and materials, as well as Ms. Liu's address book. It is unknown whether she is still being detained at the detention center or the police station. The details need further investigation.

The practitioners in Fujian Women's Prison are being brutally persecuted. On every Tuesday and Thursday morning, they are subjected to "political education," during which they are forced to constantly watch videos defaming Falun Gong. The prison officials also setup so-called "tiger teams" that force practitioners to give up their beliefs by subjecting them to various high pressure tactics around the clock. In order to make a profit, the prison forces practitioners to work long hours, sometimes for five days and four nights straight. Practitioners have to take their three meals at their workbenches. For the elderly who cannot meet the quota during the day, they are told to take the work back to their cells and sleep only after they finish the required quota. Some practitioners are cuffed and are not allowed to use the toilet, and some are not allowed to eat. Other common punishments include being forced to face a wall for extended periods of time, sleep deprivation, etc. Practitioners are subjected to the most brutal and inhuman treatment.

At the end of August of 2003, the Zhifu District's "610 Office" arrested Dafa practitioners Hou Shufeng, Zhou Shuchun, Mr. Zhou Zhijun, Ms. He Xiuling, Ms. Qiu Wenjuan, and Ms. Sui Shumei, and others. The police also ransacked a Dafa material production site and confiscated a photocopy machine and 40,000 yuan.

On January 12, 2001, Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Chengqin went to practitioner Xu Yingguang's home to return a raincoat. As it happened, a few other practitioners were also there, Ms. Ci Yuhua, Liang Ru, Li Yueping, and others. Soon after, police from the Wendeng City Police Department broke into Xu's home without any legal documents. They searched the place and arrested all the practitioners present.

At the time, Ms. Zhou Chengqing's 80-year-old mother was sick at home and could not take care of herself. Zhou's ex-husband was also ill and could not take care of himself. He was living at Zhou's home at the time. Zhou's husband and her daughter had already both been given three-year prison terms for practicing Falun Gong. Only Ms. Zhou had stayed at home to take care of the two sick people. When Zhou was illegally detained, she requested to call relatives to take care of the sick, but even such a basic right was taken away from her. As a result, the two sick people stayed in bed for two days without heat, food or water in the bitter winter. Later, when another practitioner from Sanlihe District, Wendeng City was released, Zhou was able to ask her to tell her relatives to take care of the two sick people.

The detention center wanted to release all the practitioners before the Chinese New Year, but the city police department refused. The people who are directly responsible for this case include the Wencheng Sub-Bureau director, Wang Guoan, assistant director Xu Haifeng, and policeman Li Yinglin.

Five people from a team of 15 who were working on a Farm in Jiaying, Helongjiang Province were arrested for making Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. They are practitioner Ms. Li Xia (over 40 years old), Ms. Zhang (over 50 years old), Ms. Pu (over 50 years old), non-practitioner Mr. Wang Dianwen (over 40 years old), and Mr. Che Liming (over 30 years old).

Without notification to their families, these five people were secretly sentenced. The three practitioners were sentenced to 3 years in prison and the two non-practitioners were sentenced to 2 years in prison. The charge was disturbing social order.

On the afternoon of June 14, 2004, the head of the "610 Office" at the town of Peng in Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province, police officers, Zhou, Li Junhu, and Fan Xiaogang led over a dozen people to arrest Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Qingxue (about 30 years old) at Juzi Village. They then went to the home of his father, Mr. Li Jiabin. The police confiscated all Dafa related books, materials, audiotapes, CDs, and two banners and then arrested him as well.

Li Jiabin is currently being detained at Peng City Police Station, and his son Li Qingxue is being detained at an unknown location in Chengdu City.

Zhengzhou Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Yuxia was reported to police while she was putting out truth-clarifying materials on Fengchan Street at around 8:00 p.m. on July 12, 2004. The arresting police officers took her to the Fengchan Street Police Station. The police then searched her residence and found nothing. Ms. Gao was sent to the Jinshui District Detention Center.

On July 7, 2004, Liu Chunxiang from the National Security Section of Beining City led a group police from the Goubangzi Police Department to the home of Dafa practitioner Ms. Wei Baoxiang. They ransacked her home and forcefully took her into custody without any legal procedure or documents.

Ms. Wei is currently being detained at the Beining City Detention Center. In order to resist such persecution, Ms. Wei has now been on hunger strike for 17 days.

On June 16, 2004, police from the local police station arrested three practitioners from the Daxin Industrial Development District. They are Li Xiaoping, Song Shuhui, and Fang Xiao. On that same night, they were taken to the Daxin District Detention Center. The police also confiscated one address book, one computer, one printer, and all Dafa related books and materials.
