Austria: Austrian Media Reports on the Lawsuit Against Jia Qinglin
(Clearwisdom.net)On August 30, 2004, when Jia Qinglin paid a
visit to Austria, the Austrian Falun Dafa Association, the International Human
Rights Association, the human rights organization, "Society For Threatened
People", quite a lot of individuals, as well as Falun Gong practitioners who
have been persecuted in Beijing, all got together and filed a lawsuit in the
Vienna Inquisitorial Court charging Jia Qinglin's brutal persecution of Falun
Gong practitioners and suing him for crimes of torture. Austria's leading media
reported on the lawsuit. On the day Jia Qinglin arrived in Austria, the news that he
was being sued was published on the website of the Austrian Radio Station,
claiming that Jia shouldered the main responsibility for the inhumane
persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and furthermore giving notice that
the Austrian Falun Dafa Association was to hold a press conference on this issue
the following day. On September the 1st, one of Austria's most important
newspapers "The Standard" also reported about the lawsuit of Jia Qinglin on the
day before he went to see the Austrian Premier and President. The article said
that after Falun Gong was banned in China in 1999, hundreds and thousands of
practitioners were detained and many of them tortured to death.
