(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Cui Zhilin was a 43-year-old resident of North Fuxin City. On September 18, 2002, Mr. Cui and Dafa practitioners Zhang Jie, Zhao Hua, and Lu Guojun were abducted by the Fuxin City "610 Office." Cui Zhilin was sentenced to 11 years in prison and was detained at the Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou City. In spite of the detention, he kept on practicing Dafa. On August 5, 2004, his family was suddenly informed that he had jumped out of a building. When his family arrived, Cui was found lying in the reposing room, but the prison authorities could not show any evidence that Cui had committed suicide by jumping out of a building.
At the strong insistence of his family, forensic doctors were called in to check the body. That was when his family first found that Mr. Cui's body was full of injuries caused by beating, and he had been reduced to only skin and bones. His nose, ears, and mouth were all stuffed with cotton balls, and there was a big hole in the back of his head. In one location, his gums were rotten. Large areas on his back were bruised. Signs of frequent electric shock were apparent on his armpits, ribs, inner side of the legs, the whole lower legs, and especially on his ankles. One piece of flesh on his elbow had fallen off. His private parts were swollen. His body had apparently been treated or cleaned with medical fluids prior to the examination.
The prison authorities threatened Mr. Cui's family members and did not allow them to take pictures. Later, they paid the family 7,800 yuan to settle the issue.

Torture Method I: Sitting in a Line
The brigade that receives new detainees is using this torture technique in Zhangshi Reformation Camp. It is used to force detainees to confess and to report on others. In the torture methods known as "Sitting in a Line", the person in the front sits on the floor with his or her legs pressed tightly together and feet pushed up against the wall. The person behind sits on the floor with legs spread apart and chest pressed tightly against the back of the person in front. They are arranged in a line with each sitting behind the other. The guards would shove the back of the person sitting in the back to make sure everyone is crunched together. The eyes of the person in the back must stick closely to the back of the head of the person in front of him or her. One session of sitting could last 6 to 8 hours, from 6 pm after supper till midnight, and sometimes until 2 am the next morning.
During "Sitting in a Line", detainees were only allowed to sleep if they reported on other people. Regular prisoners and Falun Dafa practitioners were mixed together in one line. Regular prisoners who could not bear such torture would make up stories to confess. During a session in May 2001, a regular prisoner made up a story, claiming that he knew a Falun Gong practitioner and some things about what this person did. Falun Dafa practitioner Li Changbin (Heping District, Shenyang City), who tried to refute the lies, was called to the office of Director Xu (male, about 40 years old) and shocked with an electric baton.
This torture technique appears mild but is actually quite harsh. Because of the long period that the victims are squeezed together, their bodies become very hot and uncomfortable.
Torture Technique II: Flying Sparrows
This torture technique was created in the Newly Established Brigade in Zhangshi Reformation Camp. It is being used to force detainees to confess and to report on others. Regular prisoners were lined up together with Falun Dafa practitioners. In "Flying Sparrows", the front most person bends forward with his or her head toward the wall, with legs separated and the heels lifted off ground, and with arms pushed upward behind them. The person in the back is made to put his or her head under the legs of the person in front of them and make a gesture of a "flying sparrow" at the same time. The guards would then force the detainees to report on other people. If one's gesture does not fit the guard's standard, he or she would be kicked or shocked with an electric baton.
In this torture, the toes suffer the most. The whole body is pushed forward. The head of the person in the front most position bears a great force. The headache is unbearable. The torture usually lasts about 30 minutes before it becomes unbearable.
Torture Technique III: Standing Planks (Also called "Fish Sleeping Sideways")
This torture technique is being used in the Newly Established Brigade of Zhangshi Education and Reformation Camp, Shenyang City and the Shenyang Detention Center. Regular detainees and Falun Dafa practitioners were subjected to this together.
The "Newly Organized Brigade" of Zhangshi Education and Reformation Camp has many detainees but very limited space. At night, the detainees are forced to lie down sideways while pressed tightly next to one another. The prison heads walk from one end to the other and make sure that everyone is squeezed together tightly. If a person gets up to go to bathroom, he will not be able to get in the bed again because the space will be taken. All the people on the bed are covered with one worn-out, hole-ridden canvas.
Torture Technique IV: Bent-Up
This torture technique is being used in Zhangshi Education and Reformation Camp and Longshan Education and Reformation Camp, Shenyang City. It is frequently used in forced labor camps. The body is bent forward with the head hanging downward, the legs spread apart, and the arms are pulled up from behind.
Nearly every Falun Dafa practitioner held in Zhangshi has been subjected to this torture. In November of 1999, in Longshan Education and Reformation Camp (it was called Longshan Forced Studying Class at that time), Falun Dafa practitioner Zhong Hengsheng, who has since died as a result of the persecution, was subjected to this torture. He was forced to stay in this position for the whole morning. The brigade leader asked the regular prisoners to watch Mr. Zhong. If he moved from this position, the convicts would beat him with bed planks.
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Zhao Liang and Zhao Ming are from Anchangxian Village in Nuanchitang Township, Nanpiao District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province. After their arrest, both were severely tortured in Huludao Detention Center. Criminals even tortured Zhao Liang by brutally crushing his testicles. On July 2, 2004, Zhao Liang and Zhao Ming were illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to Huludao City Labor Camp. They started a hunger strike and are presently still suffering from violent force-feedings. The following are details:
On the evening of June 22, 2004, soon after Zhao Liang left home, a man jumped out from behind him and shoved him down to the ground. Immediately, another four to five men rushed up to him and pinned him down. Before Zhao Liang could catch a glimpse of their faces, he was thrown into a white vehicle. These men turned out to be policemen Sang Guohua, Liu Xuebing, Sun Wanwen and others from Nuanchitang Police Station in Nanpiao District of Huludao City.
In the police van, Zhao Liang clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the police. The police told him that they were "following orders from above." The police sent Zhao Liang to Bohai Street Police Station in Lianshan District and went back to get Zhao's family members.
Soon, his eldest brother, Zhao Ming, was also abducted on the street. The police seized a key from Zhao Ming and forced their way into Zhao Liang's home. They took away his second elder brother Zhao Guang and their mother, Qi Chaoying, before searching the house. More than a dozen police officers took part in the illegal raid. They confiscated some articles by Falun Gong's founder. The police said that they had been watching them nearby for about a month. In the evening, Nanpiao Police Department deputy chief Sun Fengchen and the section chief from the Political and Security Section arrived. Lianshan District's police officer Liu Xingcheng was the chief interrogator.
Four members of the Zhao family sat in an office in Bohai Police Station throughout the night. The next day, brothers Zhao Liang and Zhao Ming were sentenced to one month of criminal detention. Their mother, Qi Chaoying, received a one-month administrative detention. Their brother, Zhao Guang, a non-practitioner, was released. When the police forcefully dragged Zhao Liang and Zhao Ming to the police van, they shouted "Falun Dafa is good!" to the public.
Once in the detention center, Zhao Liang refused to cooperate with the police. Instead, he protested the persecution. He was transferred to Cell No.18, a cell reserved for the mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners Hu Baochun and Pei Guangbin from Huludao City were once tortured in the same cell. The police officer in charge of Cell No.18 was Liu Junke. He is about 40 years old and lives in Xingcheng City. His badge number is 950994. When Zhao Liang started a hunger strike in protest of the illegal treatment, Liu Junke came and repeatedly slapped Zhao's face. Then he signaled to other criminal inmates to torture Zhao Liang. On the first day, a 25-year-old murderer named Tong Longyong from Huludao City ordered two other criminals to torture Zhao Liang (Tong has scorpion tattoos on his arms and his back). They beat him, punched and kicked him, fiercely striking his chest and back. They cruelly pinched his arm muscles and even squeezed his testicles.
A criminal nicknamed Dabao (big bump) said while he was clenching Zhao Liang's testicles, "I am on death row! It doesn't matter if I take one more life." Later, feeling unsatisfied with the cruelty of his torture, Dabao removed Zhao Liang's underwear and clenched Zhao's testicles in front of 14 inmates.
On the next day, these two criminals continued to torture Zhao Liang under the supervision of criminal inmate Wang Jingtian.
On the third day, head police officer Xu Chongjie and several others dragged practitioner Zhao Liang into a hallway and started to slap him on the face. Xu threatened to send him to the "lock-up" with three other death row inmates who would be executed the next day. Xu ordered the inmates, "You must make him eat today!" Following Xu's order, inmates Wang Jingtian and Tong Longyong began the violence. Wang threw a punch and knocked Zhao Liang to the floor. Tong Longyong began crushing Zhao Liang's testicles with his hands while saying, "I am going to disable you today." He continued for about ten minutes. Frustrated by practitioner Zhao Liang's silence, the criminals paused and said, "Let's have a break and come back to squeeze him again."
The excruciating pain made Mr. Zhao Liang tremble and sweat terribly. He feared that they would torture him again, so he agreed to resume eating. Zhao Liang's chest and back were in so much pain that he could not even stand up. His testicles were badly swollen. It was heard that Dafa practitioners Hu Baochun and Pei Guangbin from Huludao ended a hunger strike after suffering the same torture.
On July 2, 2004, Zhao Liang and his brother Zhao Ming each received a three-year sentence. They are now detained in Huludao City Forced Labor Camp. So far, the brothers are still on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. They continue to suffer from repeated force-feeding.

Ning Bo, 73 years old, from Xi'an Township, Dawa County, Panjin City, Liaoning Province, was illegally sentenced to a 3-year prison term and detained in Panjin Prison.
The policemen from Xi'an Township Police Station often harassed and persecuted Ning Bo for practicing Falun Gong after Jiang Zemin outlawed the practice on July 20, 1999. At 7:00 a.m. on August 8, 2001, Zhang Mingjiang, Director of Xi'an Police Station, and policeman Ye Litie broke into Ning Bo's home and confiscated his exercise cassettes. They called more policemen from the police station to come and pried open a locked cabinet, taking away all the Dafa materials in his home. Then they dragged Ning Bo to the police vehicle and detained him in the detention center in Dawa County. Ning 's wife was suffering from the aftereffects of a stroke. Her health condition worsened as Zhang Mingjiang and otherl police often came to harass her, ransacking the home and abducting her husband. She died with tears in her eyes on September 23, 2003.
On May 19, 2004, Director Zhang Mingjiang and Supervisor Gao Xianbao again abducted Ning Bo from his home and brutally beat him when they were about 20 kilometers (12 miles) away from the county detention center. As of June 9, 2004, Ning Bo was still deaf in his right ear. His right arm was disabled. His lower back was severely injured, which left him unable to walk on his own.
Without notifying his family members, the court secretly began a trial and illegally sentenced Ning Bo to a 3-year prison term and sent him to the prison in Jinzhou City. It was said that Ning Bo defended himself strongly based on reason, condemning Zhang Mingjiang for producing fake evidence in an attempt to persecute him more severely. However, after the court session was over, he was still sentenced to 3 years in prison.
Ning Bo's family members went to the Procuratorate to sue Zhang Mingjiang and Gao Xianbao, but the Procuratorate has avoided responding to them.

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun is a Falun Gong practitioner from Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, China. She is a laid off worker of the Jiulong Company in Daqing. Jiulong Company just gave her a lump sum severance fee, and did not give her the pension she deserves for her work there. Even though Ms. Cheng is no longer working for the company, she was not spared being persecuted by them. She was sentenced to two years in prison in 2002 because she maintained her practice of Falun Gong. When she completed her prison term on May 27, 2004, her brother went to pick her up but the police refused to allow him to see her. The two staff members from Daqing City's "610 Office," Mr. Zhang Guojun and Mr. Liu Xiping, the Secretary and a staff member from Jiulong Company, Mr. Li Xiuen and Mr. Liu Xinglin, the Secretary of Jiulong Company's branch office, Mr. Zhang Jianguo, as well as two staff members from Daqing Labor Union, Ms. Han Yuhui and Mr. Xu Guohua, took Cheng Qiaoyun to the Hongweixing Brainwashing Center in Daqing City.
After she was finally released, she was illegally detained for fifteen days and then sent back to the Hongweixing Brainwashing Center. The repeated brainwashing and torture were destroying her body and spirit. When she was on the brink of death, the torturers sent her to the hospital for emergency resuscitation. After a few days, they took her out of the hospital and resumed the torture. After another forty days of repeated physical torture and brainwashing, Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun became mentally disoriented. She would even eat sand mixed with rice, and would not say a word. She could not sleep day and night. The torturers had mangled her hands and crippled her legs. The police have recently taken her out of Hongweixing Brainwashing Center. Because she could not walk, the police dragged her out. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Falun Gong practitioners in Daqing have been deeply concerned since she went missing. It has been some twenty days since she was taken somewhere. We have looked everywhere and asked everyone about her, but we have no clue as to where she is or whether she is even still alive. Ms. Cheng Qiaoyun's father is 78 years old. He was a veteran soldier and is a retired member of the Chinese Communist Party. He has already filed a complaint to the local authorities, but has not received any acknowledgement so far. Her father is afflicted with ailments and is on many types of medication. His only wish is to be able to see his beloved daughter again before he dies. Her elderly mother is in tears everyday, missing her only daughter. She keeps saying to herself, "You are mommy's only baby. Please come back home."
(Clearwisdom.net) On July 2, 2004, the Dehui Court put Mr. Zhang Xuedong on trial. On August 13, 2004, Mr. Zhang was tried for the second time and sentenced to 6 years in prison. Mr. Zhang is currently detained at the Dehui Detention Center.

(Clearwisdom.net) In Dandong City, Liaoning Province, police from the Dandong Public Security Bureau's Section One have detained over a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners since early 2004. They have established a pattern of operation in which they use master keys to open the door locks of practitioners' homes and enter like bandits, usually at around eleven o'clock at night while the practitioners are sound asleep. Since January 2004, they have abducted many practitioners after searching their homes in this manner. The following are details of the arrest and persecution of several practitioners in Dandong City:
Mr. Xu Yanfeng is a thirty-three-year-old engineer at the Shuguang Cheqiao Manufacturing Plant. On the morning of January 29, 2004, he had just arrived for work at the plant when police from Dandong Public Security Bureau's Section One abducted him. His home was searched, his property confiscated, and he was held at the detention center.
Mr. Sui Yongyan, in his fifties, is a computer expert for a construction company. On April 4, 2004, while clarifying the truth, he was arrested and his home was searched. The police even went to his workplace and confiscated his computer there. Mr. Sui is currently being held at the local detention center where he is being tortured in an attempt to force him to renounce Falun Dafa.
Mr. Cheng Yuanyi is a fifty-five-year-old employee of the Dandong Electric Utility Bureau. On March 10, 2004, the Dandong Public Security Bureau's Section One police went to Mr. Cheng's home and asked him to accompany them to the station, deceiving him and his family by saying they just wanted to ask him a few questions. However, the moment he arrived at the Section One office, he was immediately detained. They violently interrogated him and then went back and searched his home. Cheng Yuanyi tried to clarify the truth to them and called out, "Falun Dafa is good!" The police then took him to the detention center where they tortured him.
Ms. Zhao Hong'e is a teacher in her thirties at Fuchun Elementary School. On May 8, 2004, the Dandong police abducted her. A large group of policemen searched the home of Zhao Hong'e's parents as well as that of her elder brother. Finding nothing, they went to Fuchun Elementary School and began interrogating and threatening the little children there, forcing them to inform on one another and to tell whether their parents were practicing Falun Gong. The parents who were revealed to be practitioners then had to hand in their Falun Dafa books to the police. The entire school was forced to stop classes while all this took place, creating a horrifying atmosphere for the children. As a result, Zhao Hong'e could not return to her home. She has a good reputation as an excellent teacher, and the children she has taught have become very good students. Her class was rated as the top class in the school. Ms. Zhao saw nothing wrong with teaching her students to be good people by following "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." Her students' parents even went to the school as a group to ask for Zhao Hong'e to be released and become their children's teacher again, but the police refused. Instead, they tortured Ms. Zhao. On May 24, 2004, at about 11:00 p.m., three unknown persons broke into Zhao Hong'e's home and searched it. Her family was also persecuted; at the same time that Ms. Zhao's home was being searched, neighbors were awaked by the noise of police officers breaking down the doors of Ms. Zhao's parents' home.
On May 21, 2004, Mr. Song Zhengdong was abducted, along with several other practitioners, and taken to a forced labor camp where they were tortured.
Officers from the Dandong Public Security Bureau's Section One also abducted Ms. Wang Lian, a Falun Dafa practitioner in her thirties. They searched her home and detained her at a forced labor camp, where she was tortured.
Ms. Yang Huizhen is a sixty-year-old doctor. On the evening of May 24, 2004, Yang Huizhen and her daughter were abducted. Cao Yujia, Yu Deqing and Sa Lixia, followed by several other Section One police officers from the Dandong Public Security Bureau, broke into Dr. Yang's home and searched it. At the time, only she and her bed-ridden husband were at home. Facing the policemen's violence, Yang Huizhen did not give in. She called out, "Falun Dafa is good!" However, she was abducted, taken to the detention center and tortured. At about ten o'clock the same night, Yang Huizhen's daughter, Zhang Chungang, was also abducted, taken to the detention center and tortured.
Mr. Kan Jun is around thirty years old. On June 15, 2004, police officers from the Dandong Public Security Bureau's Section One searched his home but found nothing. Nevertheless, Mr. Kan was abducted from his home, taken to the detention center and tortured.
Since 2004, over a dozen practitioners have been abducted and inhumanely persecuted at forced labor camps. Section One officers have also abducted other, unnamed practitioners by using the master keys to the door locks of their homes. Since July 20, 1999, there have been many practitioners in Dandong City receiving this kind of persecution.
For the past five years, under the instigation of the Dandong Municipal Government, the Political and Judicial Commission and the "610 Office," police have been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, many of whom have been detained in the local detention center and sentenced to forced labor camps. Others have been abducted and sent to brainwashing classes. The followers of the Jiang regime physically and psychologically torture the practitioners by the most inhuman means. There are still many other practitioners who have had to leave home and become homeless and destitute in order to avoid the persecution and to avoid risking the implication and persecution of their families and associates.
(Clearwisdom.net) About a thousand people began practicing Falun Gong in Dianbai County, Guangdong Province after Master Li Hongzhi first introduced Falun Dafa to the public in 1992.
After July 20, 1999, the Jiang Zemin regime began to suppress Falun Gong, resulting in cases of persecution in Dianbai County. Seven practitioners were sentenced to prison terms ranging from five to fourteen years. Forty-five practitioners were sent to forced labor camps. A hundred and eighty-four practitioners were detained, for a periods ranging from a few weeks to a few years. Fifty-eight practitioners were abducted and sent to brainwashing classes, and their families were forced to pay 25 yuan (1) a day for so-called "administration fees" and "boarding expenses." Over the past few years, practitioners have either been fined or were extorted for an aggregate amount exceeding 230,000 yuan. Some practitioners couldn't afford to pay the fines, in which cases the local police stations in their towns dispatched officers to intrude into practitioner's homes and randomly confiscate television sets, refrigerators, washing machines, motorcycles, bicycles and anything else of monetary value. In some rural areas, they took away cows, pigs, chickens and ducks, or even grain, seed and eggs from practitioners' homes. When practitioners were detained or imprisoned in forced labor camps, the guards shocked them with electric batons (2) or tortured them in electric chairs. They also handcuffed practitioners, beat and tortured them, force-fed them through intubation (3), didn't allow them to sleep or sit, forced them to perform slave labor and brutally tortured them in many other ways as well.
She is 27 years old. Officers from the Chaoyang Police Station, in Beijing, arrested her when she went there to appeal for Falun Gong. She was tortured for nine days and nine nights. When she was finally released, her right hand was bleeding and she was unable to lift her left hand. All the clothes she was wearing had been torn to pieces.
She is 29 years old. Officers from the Chaoyang Police Station, in Beijing, arrested her when she went there to appeal for Falun Gong. The police cuffed her to an electric chair and shocked her with high-voltage electricity for half an hour. Then the police inserted ice under her clothes to freeze her when the temperature in Beijing was already as cold as from -8˚C to --10˚C (14˚F to 18˚F). Several police officers even tried to carry her to the eighth floor and take away all her clothing, in order to freeze her. When they had carried her as far as the sixth floor, somebody stopped them and they were unable to carry out their plan. Later, she was sent back to Dianbai County, Guangdong Province, where she was sent to a forced labor camp for one and a half years.
She is over 40 years old. When she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, the police shocked her entire body with electric batons. She had numerous burns, scars and wounds that were dark from bruising and blistering. Her wrists were burned from being held against the hot pipes of a steam radiator (4) and the wounds were seeping pus and blood.
He is over 30 years old. In Sanshui Forced Labor Camp, several guards shocked his entire body with five or six electric batons simultaneously. They didn't allow him to sleep or to sit down. They tortured him physically and psychologically for a long period of time.
She is 71 years old. She was detained in Maoming City Brainwashing Class for more than one year. The guards from the "610 Offices" frequently verbally abused and beat her. Sometimes the guards would cuff both her hands to a window frame for more than ten hours, or sometimes for even as long as a few days, during which time she was not allowed to talk, sleep, or use the restroom.
He was imprisoned in a forced labor camp for two years. The town government confiscated all of his work tools and other valuables in his home. His wife and three children were left with no source of income and are in dire financial straits.
They were illegally detained for a long time and then were sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. Their daughter was detained for three years before the guards sent her to Maoming City Brainwashing Class and then to Guangdong Provincial Brainwashing Class to torture her both psychologically and physically. Ms. Pan Yanmei was twice imprisoned in a forced labor camp, for two years and one year, respectively. After being persecuted in Sanshui Forced Labor Camp, she can no longer stand up straight, can't walk and is extremely emaciated. Nevertheless, the police continue to persecute her.
She is around 60 years old. When she was detained in Dianbai County Detention Center, her young granddaughter accidentally drowned when there was no one to take care of her.
They were sentenced to imprisonment for making truth-clarification materials. Mr. Li Kun was sentenced to fourteen years, and Mr. Li Xinhua, for five years. Their bodies and minds were seriously harmed.
He is about 30 years old. He was sentenced to eleven years in a forced labor camp. His elder sister was abducted and sent to Maoming City Brainwashing Class, where she was tortured.
The police robbed more than 13,000 yuan from her when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) At 12:00 p.m. on September 7, 2004, the Falun Dafa Association of Spain held a press conference to announce a lawsuit against Jia Qinglin. Attorney Carlos Iglesias filed the lawsuit on behalf of practitioners, charging Jia with grave crimes against humanity committed during the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China while he was Communist Party Secretary General of Beijing (the highest official position of the city) between 1999 and 2002. Mr. Iglesias and other practitioners introduced details of Jia's crimes to the media.
In a speech, a representative of the practitioners said, "During Jia's tenure as Communist Party Secretary General of Beijing, the period from 1999 to 2002 was the darkest time for practitioners during the persecution. Innumerable atrocities were committed against Falun Gong practitioners, including many cases of death due to torture. Zhao Xin, a professor of the University of Commerce and Industry of Beijing, Wang Lixuan, and her 8-month-old son were all tortured to death during this period. Moreover, the "Tiananmen Self-immolation" event was staged by Jiang's followers during this period. This well-planned plot was very destructive to Falun Gong's reputation and successfully instigated people's hatred toward practitioners. Consequently, practitioners' safety deteriorated further as the persecution escalated after this event. Moreover, the persecution was not limited to Beijing practitioners only. Practitioners from other areas were also severely persecuted in Beijing. A least 830,000 practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal were illegally arrested and detained in Beijing, or sent back to their hometowns for further detention and torture. Many practitioners were persecuted to death. Jia, as the Party Secretary General of Beijing at that time, is directly responsible for these crimes."
Attorney Iglesias said: "Based on the crimes Jia committed against practitioners during his tenure as head of Beijing, on behalf of practitioners, I filed a lawsuit with the National Spanish Court system charging him with genocide and crimes of torture, as Spanish law authorizes judges to rule over cases of international genocide. Moreover, Jia Qinglin can't allege immunity. In the face of genocide, it is not possible to argue diplomatic immunity. Considering the barbaric nature of the torture and murders of innocent people, these acts could not have been committed as part of official duties, rather they were exclusively done as personal acts, which were completely illegal, and blatant violations of the Chinese constitution itself, and the internal laws of China."
At the end of the press conference, practitioners called upon the international community to pay attention to the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China, and called on all kind-hearted people to help end this persecution.
Several renowned Spanish media, including Europa Press and National TV, as well as Reuters, attended the press conference. Europa Press and Reuters reported the lawsuit against Jia that afternoon.

The Mayor of Moscow, religious leaders, MPs, scientists and other important leaders of society made speeches to the gathering against terrorism, mourning for the victims in the Beslan school massacre and the people that died in two recent airplane crashes.
Falun Gong practitioners participated in the parade to the Kremlin, holding banners which displayed "The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance."
A newspaper reporter interviewed three practitioners. They told her that Falun Gong practitioners are against terrorism and genocide, and that the world needs truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. If more people believed in truthfulness, compassion and tolerance then the morality of society would rise and there would be peace and no war. Practitioners also said that Falun Gong will bring truth, compassion and tolerance to the Russian people and bring them peace and happiness.

Hundreds of paper lotus flowers were displayed on the central lawn, each flower representing an innocent practitioner brutally tortured to death in China. The meaning of the lotus flower is symbolic of the current persecution initiated by Jiang's regime. When a lotus flower emerges from the mud it still displays its beauty and purity, despite the conditions. In like manner, the beauty, dignity and magnificence of Dafa practitioners in China shines brightly even in such a harsh environment.
During the week of the exhibition, thousands of students walked by the display. Many stopped to read the information boards and enquired about the persecution, wishing to know more. Most people were shocked by the brutality of the torture methods used on practitioners. Especially touching to them was the fact that children and students were being persecuted at schools and universities across China. One student, after reading a report of torture methods used, said: "No human being should be treated like this. Not even animals or real criminals deserve this."
On the second day we held an official opening of the exhibition. A practitioner and former graduate of UNSW who suffered persecution at a university in China shared his story. Many students who gathered on the lawn during a busy lunch hour were touched by his speech and loudly applauded at the end.
After 5 days of the exhibition many students and professors on campus learned the truth. There are thousands of Chinese students at UNSW, some of whom are from Mainland China. Although at the beginning of the week many were reluctant to take our flyers, by the last day more and more people were saying, "Thanks, I already got one the other day". Especially powerful was the impact on the visiting Chinese tourist delegations, who were surprised and shocked to see Falun Dafa being openly practiced overseas.
Similar exhibitions are being planned to take place at all major universities in Sydney.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Photo & Authentic Paintings by Modern Masters Exhibition series, initiated by Ms. Dai of Australia, toured Taiwan, holding twenty exhibitions in just six months. The exhibitions reached countless Taiwanese, and helped them deepen their understandings about Falun Dafa. During the last exhibition of the series, "Portrait of Emperor Kangxi" (the greatest emperor of the Qing Dynasty) was shown for the first time. The final exhibition of this series was held at Banqiao district of Taipei on August 29. Many VIPs and local residents attended the closing ceremony.
In a speech, legislative member Wang Shuhui [phonetic] said: "Though the hurricane caused much damage in our county, Banqiao survived with minimal damage due to luck brought by this exhibition!"
The director of the stadium hosting the exhibition said: "I paid special attention to the practitioners, and I noticed that they are very special. They treated every exhibition viewer with kindness and sincerity. I listened to several volunteers introducing the exhibition, and I found that they were very professional. I also saw the selfless dedication from Ms. Dai and her son Mr. Dai Dongni. They have really lived up to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." We should all follow and promote these principles."

When hurricane Elly hit Banqiao, a giant glass window of the stadium was about to collapse due to the strong wind. The staff had exhausted all resources and could not improve the situation. The stadium property and the precious paintings and photos were in great danger. A practitioner then called some practitioners who are carpenters and engineers. Soon, eleven practitioners came to the site and used boards to support the glass. The glass and other property of the stadium were saved, and the exhibition continued as usual the next day. The staff members on duty were very grateful to the practitioners. Mr. Wen said: "Only Falun Gong practitioners could do this in such severe weather, it would impossible for ordinary people to do so."

(Clearwisdom.net) One day I went to a hospital and came across an acquaintance walking in the corridor. I saw when approaching him that his whole body appeared charred and new skin had just grown in some places. His two hands were limp and hung, immobile, close to his body. I asked anxiously, "What's happened?" He said, "I was burned by gasoline." I asked him, "Why aren't you covered with bandages? You saw that those people who were burned in the Tiananmen self-immolation incident were wrapped with bandages." He smiled and did not answer.

I work in a ward of the hospital. My acquaintance with burns came over to borrow a cigarette lighter from someone, to have a smoke. I asked him about the details of his burns. He said that he was burned rinsing machine parts with gasoline while he was repairing a machine for his work unit. A colleague nearby was using an open flame which ignited the gasoline vapor in the area and then on his skin. I asked, "How come the flame burned you so badly?" He said, "Because I was using gasoline." When I inquired further, he told me that it had been ten days since he was burned.
I asked him, "How long were you actually in contact with the gasoline flame?" He answered, "Only two to three seconds." I asked, "You were burned so severely after only two to three seconds?" He affirmed, "Only two to three seconds!"
He was burned badly. The damaged skin had sloughed off in some places and new skin appeared. The burned skin on his hands made it look like he was wearing gloves. His back was burned the worse and medical ointments were applied to the burned areas. Large scabs had formed and a bloody fluid seeped out between the scabs.
I said to the people in the ward, "Look, everyone, his burns still look this bad, even ten days after he was burned. If the burned areas were covered with bandages what would have happened?" Some people answered, "He could not be treated like that. The wounds would fester and putrefy. The burned area can only be left uncovered, with ointments applied."

I asked again, "Why were the people in the Tiananmen self-immolation incident fully covered with bandages after they were burned?" The people in the ward suddenly understood, and said with one voice, "It is false!"
Actually, many people have the common sense to know that a person with burns cannot be covered with bandages.
In addition, my acquaintance told me, "At that moment after I was burned, I felt extreme pain. I knelt on floor and could not stand. I felt relief only after being injected with a drug for anesthesia in the hospital."
Wang Jindong in the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident was supposedly burned so badly, but he sat there firmly and recited his "actor's lines" in such a loud voice!

A director from the Educational Bureau of one city in Jilin Province not only slandered Falun Dafa at a city-wide educational system conference, but he also assigned the task of writing "compositions" defaming Falun Dafa to each and every elementary school and high school. After local practitioners found out about this, they immediately exposed his wrongdoings to the local citizens. Practitioners made truth-clarifying signs and posted or distributed them across the city and near his home. However, several days later, the director still had not restrained his wicked behavior. On the contrary, he even became more vicious. He went to some schools in person, supervising and examining the process of writing "compositions" against Falun Dafa. Some practitioners became puzzled after this happened. Some even said, "Why is it that he became even more vicious after the exposure?" Because of this, some practitioners backed off a little in their effort to expose his crimes.
Regarding this issue, local practitioners have had several small-scale experience sharing meetings to exchange ideas. In the end, they realized that there was nothing wrong with exposing the evil, but the practitioners' mindset in participating in it was most important. As long as we validate Dafa with a pure heart, the best effect will be achieved. After all the practitioners had improved their understanding from the Fa-perspective, they kept exposing the local persecutors to the people. Soon after, that director was dismissed from his position and transferred somewhere else.
The mother (also a practitioner) of a steadfast practitioner who was in prison went to visit her son, who had been tortured to the brink of death. She went there several times, but was not allowed to see her son at all. Therefore, a relative of hers managed to arrange a meeting at the hospital through some internal connections. The mother saw her son through a window and found that the son was dying. The mother asked the guard to allow her to have a look at her son face to face. However, she was reprimanded and turned away. After she got back, she realized through communication with other fellow practitioners, that it was because we did not expose the persecutors that they had become so brazen in persecuting Dafa practitioners. Thus, she exposed on Clearwisdom the persecution that her son had been subjected to in the prison. She also wrote a letter to the leaders of the prison. Several days later, people from the team of the prison in which her son was jailed made a phone call to her, scolding her, "How dare you expose us on the Internet and write a letter to our superiors! It spurred a detailed inspection from our higher-ups. I guess you don't want to see your son anymore." In spite of the threat and terror, she argued strongly on the basis of justice. In the end, the guard hung up after saying, "Don't ever think of seeing your son again."
The mother knew that, even though she was still not allowed to see her son, she had done nothing wrong. She kept writing to the above authorities of the prison: the provincial Prison Administrative Bureau, the provincial Judiciary Department and other relevant departments. The prison is currently still very strict about meetings between other detained steadfast practitioners and their family members, but her family is an exception: they are given permission every time.
Later on, she told us, "Through this issue, I realized that when one believes in Teacher and the Fa in all situations, one will experience the power of Dafa." Her family is actively filing a lawsuit against the prison for the illegal detention of her son, who is still seriously ill.
Also, there is a practitioner who, with righteous thoughts, was able to get out of the prison. She did not give her name to the authorities during her 575 days of detention in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. After she left the camp, she actively rejoined the mighty current of Fa-rectification. In May 2004, she was reported while clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa, carrying several hundred VCDs with her. After she was abducted, she behaved righteously in the police substation and Public Security Branch. She was released one day later without revealing her name. After she came back, she wrote down her experiences in the persecution and exposed the evil on Clearwisdom. She also made and distributed some truth-clarifying materials in the local area using her real name, and included the name of the police substation where she was detained. When her daughter-in-law found out about it, she was very upset and said, "How dare you use your real name on the flyer and distribute it everywhere. The police substation and the Neighborhood Committee came to our home. How will we be able to keep going now?" Upon hearing her daughter-in-law's words, she hesitated a moment, but then reaffirmed in her mind that we should follow Master's teachings at all times.
It turned out that there is a director of the Neighborhood Committee whom the practitioner had intended to explain the truth to but never had a chance. In July 2004, the director mysteriously said to the practitioner's relative, "The police substation had a meeting with our community. Your sister-in-law is like Sister Jiang. She started to practice the Falun Gong exercises upon arriving at the police substation. Even the policemen could do nothing with her. They released her one day later, saying that Falun Gong practitioners are really something." Through her story, the director of the Neighborhood Committee and many others got to know the truth of Falun Dafa. The practitioner's daughter-in-law told her several days later, "Mom, I lied to you. Nobody from the police substation ever came to our home." The practitioner said thankfully, "Every word that Teacher said is the truth!" In other words, if we do not firmly believe in Teacher at all times, we might become confused by superficial appearances.
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner that has been tortured by police officers at a forced labor camp. I was shocked on the head for lengthy periods with an electric baton. As a result, I am disabled, as the nerves controlling my lower limbs were damaged and I can no longer walk. I will narrate my personal experience thoroughly to share the process of validating the Fa with fellow practitioners, in hopes this will enable all of us to do better in the process of clarifying the facts.
1. Take Advantage of All Opportunities to Clarify the Facts to People
When I was released from the forced labor camp, my legs were disabled, as the pain from each step I took was like stepping on countless needles. I was in constant torment from the pain. I no longer know what it is like not to suffer from pain. Hence, I could not go downstairs anymore. When I saw other Dafa practitioners clarifying the facts during the Fa-rectification period, I began to feel anxious as I not only could not be with them, I was having difficulty in taking even one step. After studying the Fa, I realized that Teacher has told us not to acknowledge the persecution and the wicked influences of the old forces. I must overcome all the arrangements and persecution of the old forces, and do what a Dafa practitioner must do. Thereafter, I began to make phone calls and write letters to clarify the facts. Whenever I met anyone who came to my home, I would seize the opportunity to tell him or her about the savage persecution suffered by Dafa practitioners in China.
For example, when a bill collector or salesperson came to my house, I would seize the opportunity to clarify the facts to them. I was unable to go downstairs. How could I clarify the facts to people? Whenever there was anyone calling out that they were selling something I would shout that I wished to buy something and asked the peddler to bring his wares upstairs for me. I would first say, "Thank you for taking the trouble." Then I would immediately clarify the facts to him, telling him that because I have faith in "Zhen-Shan-Ren" (Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance) and am a good person, the police beat me till I became disabled. It was brief but precise. Then I would thank him again for bringing the things up for me. In this manner, many people were told the facts.
My home is in the center of the city and I was often visited by salespersons selling shampoo and face lotion. Every time someone knocked on my door, I would welcome them warmly. Those who understood the facts would say, "Thank you! You are different from the others. They would not even answer my knocks. Some even scolded me." Sometimes I would sincerely tell the salesperson: "Although I am having financial difficulties now, I still wish to help you. I will buy something from you." They would not sell me a thing and say, "You have been persecuted to such an extent, I find it hard to bear, but I thank you." It is in this manner that I use the persecution I suffered to let every person I meet know the facts. I value the opportunity of meeting every person.
2. With Righteous Thoughts, Righteous Actions, Be Steadfast in Clarifying the Facts and Save the People of the World.
In October, 2001, I had been back from the forced labor camp for more than four months. Life was very difficult for my family. Two children had to attend school, and the four in our family depended on my husband's monthly income of four hundred or so yuan. As I am crippled, unable to do manual work, and I did not receive any injury insurance payment, I went to my work unit on crutches to expose the evil and clarify the facts. When the leader there that was very active in persecuting me heard that I was there he became scared and quickly slipped away. Unable to find the leader, I stayed in the public square in the station and loudly clarified the facts to the passengers: "Tourists, I was a worker at this station. Because I practice Falun Gong and am a good person, the station leader sent me to a forced labor camp. At that camp I was inhumanely treated. At present I have lost my ability to work. When I wanted to file a lawsuit, the lawyer told me that there was a secret order by Jiang Zemin that no lawyer may represent any Falun Gong practitioner. Just look how difficult it is to be a good person in China!" A few people from the Police Station of the work unit came and tried to disperse the crowd. I told those police officers: "Stop dispersing those people. They wish to listen to the truth." The evil is most frightened of being exposed. They invited me to the office, and gave me the wages that were illegally withheld during the four months that I was in the labor camp, and the bonus from my shareholdings. They also paid my monthly living expenses.
One time, I was at the city center clarifying the facts with workers on a public project at the end of a bridge. A woman saw me talking to those workers and reported me to the police. My righteous thoughts were very strong, and with the help of the crutches, I moved and sat on the roadside, at the same time asking for Teacher to give me more strength to eliminate the evil elements backing the 110 Police (Police Patrol). After about ten minutes, a 110 Police Patrol car arrived. Three police officers alighted from the vehicle. They immediately asked: "Who is practicing Falun Gong here?" I said, "I am practicing Falun Gong, and I have been disabled by the police at the forced labor camp who used electric batons on me." The three police officers were stunned by what they heard, and asked: "Are you telling the truth?" I honestly provided them with my name, address, and work unit and even gave them the name of the police officer that injured me. I also described to them how I was disabled. After listening to me, they said, "Oh! That was how it happened!" They added: "Who made this report?" The people around pointed to the woman that made the report: "She reported it!" The three police officers, instead of taking action against me, rebuked that woman. At that moment, the three police officers said to me, "Get in our car, we'll take you home." I thanked them gratefully, but declined the offer and told them I would walk home slowly. They drove away in their car. Those people who were around witnessed the incident and a youngster said softly: "When the police asked us what you said, we told them you did not say anything!" Seeing so many people understanding the truth, I shed tears of joy. I feel that if I am always righteous in my actions and do things well, Teacher will help me.
3. Facing the People of the World and Clarifying the Truth With Benevolence
When clarifying the truth, people often asked me various questions. Often, I would repeatedly say the same thing to one person. When he still could not understand me, I would become impatient. After studying the Fa, I began to know the difference between telling the facts and clarifying the facts. The truth is what we convey to people, but in the process of clarifying the truth, we must be clear about the truth ourselves, that what we convey to the people is really clear to them and that they really understand what we have said. Only then, have we offered salvation to the people of the world.
In the process of clarifying the truth, I have met some people who could neither hear nor speak. There is a level of difficulty in clarifying the facts to such people. Though it is difficult, we cannot leave these people out. I would use hand gestures to greet them and then they would ask me: "What happened to your legs?" I would then pick up a small piece of stick and write on the earth "Falun Dafa hao!" (Falun Dafa is Good) and "Falun Dafa teaches people to be good" "Jiang Zemin deceived the people by fabricating lies on television broadcasts. Jiang savagely injures and kills good people. Do not believe the propaganda broadcast by the television stations." I would also tell them how the evil police injured me by briefly writing it down. They were astonished after reading it. I also met two such people at the super-market and I used the same method to clarify the truth to them. In this manner my being disabled and the persecution were conveyed to the deaf community. Later, a relative told me: "How did you explain the savage persecution to the deaf community; they are discussing the cruel torments amongst themselves."
When I first leaned on the two crutches to go out to clarify the truth, it was during the summer and I was wearing thin clothing. The crutches tore the skin in both my armpits. When the weather became cold, I returned home when it was dark, dragging my legs like they weighed a ton, and for every step I took, the pain felt like a thousand needles pricking me. It was extremely difficult, but as I thought of the faces of those I helped, I began to smile, as I felt gratified.
Recollecting when I initially could not walk and stayed home, to subsequently using crutches to walk around to clarify the truth--and today, I am riding my bicycle--to save the people of the world, every step I take is with the protection and benevolence bestowed upon me by my venerable Teacher. I thank my venerable Teacher for his bearing the sufferings for me. In the path of cultivation, validating the Fa and saving the people of the world, I will be more steadfast and do better together with my fellow practitioners.
I request fellow practitioners to point out anything inappropriate in this account of my personal experience.
(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. In April 2004, to avoid being arrested by the police, I jumped down from the third floor of a building and injured myself. The experiences during my recovery process show the dignity and power of Dafa. I would like to share with fellow practitioners who are still suffering the persecution to firmly believe in Dafa and Teacher. You will experience boundless energy.
I was sent to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment after my fall. The x-ray showed that I had broken and dislocated my hip-bone and broken a bone in my left foot. The doctors were worried about my situation because in cases similar to mine, patients have died or become permanently disabled from such injuries. Although I suffered from horrendous pain that kept me awake at night, for the most part, my mind was still clear. Everyone around me suggested that I use tranquilizers to get relief from the pain, but I refused.
The pain I experienced awakened me and I realized where I fell short in cultivation. I felt I was on an edge and I saw demons and bad monks floating in front of my eyes. I knew they wanted to take away my life. I continuously sent forth righteous thoughts. Gradually, my body and things around me became tranquil.
Teacher's words appeared in my mind: "As long as you are a genuine cultivator, anything can happen. We had a cultivator a while ago who had steel pins and plates in his leg. He also had bones and even some other parts replaced. Later, he found that they had all disappeared without a trace, but his leg was in perfect shape." (Lecture at the Fa-Conference in Canada, Toronto, May 23, 1999)
I realized that Teacher removed those bad things for me. A broken bone is nothing for Teacher. While suffering and enduring the pain, I also thought of Teacher's words, "However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is." (Also in a Few Words, September 9, 2001).
I thought to myself, "I am a practitioner during the Fa-rectification period and I deny any disturbances and persecution from the Old Forces! I came for the purpose of validating Dafa!" I told myself, "I must validate Dafa, and do what a Dafa practitioner should do." I firmly believe that Teacher will arrange everything for me. Right after that thought, I felt a burst of heat at the area of injury, and a rotation of energy in my foot. I knew our compassionate Teacher was protecting me.
The second day, my father and brother came to see me. My father does not practice Falun Dafa. He feared that I would become permanently disabled and would not allow me to leave the hospital. Although he knew that the surgery would cost 20,000 yuan, he still wanted me to have it. I told my brother, "I don't want to have the surgery. Let father have a good sleep tonight. Tomorrow, I'll certainly go home."
My brother is a Dafa practitioner and he supported my decision. While I was talking, I felt my injured area trembling like something was patting it. That evening, I was able to move at the waist. I knew Teacher had corrected my broken bone. Before, it was very painful to move my waist. On the third day at the hospital, I told my father I did not need surgery. I would be fine, and we should go home. He was worried when he heard me say that to him. I also told him, " There is no guarantee that the surgery will be successful." Furthermore, there were the "15 possible" side effects from having the surgery. After listening to me, my father calmed down. I told him that Teacher has corrected my broken hip-bone and we could take another x-ray to see the condition of the injured area. The x-ray showed one of my broken bones had fused together. That had only been the fourth day since my injury. The doctors could not explain the healing. They were surprised at the power of Dafa. My father knew Dafa is good and he was happy about the result, and agreed to let me go home. When we left the hospital, it was sunny. My heart was full of confidence.
On our way home, I said to the sky in a firm voice, "I am a disciple of Teacher Li Hongzhi. I want to validate Dafa. Even though I have shortcomings, I do not accept the persecution. Eliminate all the evil and dark minions, all of them!" I repeated in a loud voice three times, and kept on sending forth righteous thoughts in my mind.
The first two days back home, I experienced high fever. I continuously sent forth righteous thoughts. At the same time, I frequently felt a patting sensation on the broken bones. Two days later, the fever disappeared and my waist could move freely without pain. I realized that Teacher had corrected all of my broken bones. The patting sensation I experienced was actually the fusing of my bones. That was April 11. I was saved once again by Teacher. Later I was told that April 11 was Easter and that Teacher lectured in America. My heart experienced a test of life and death, while my body went through reconstruction.
It has been two months since the injury, and I can slowly walk by myself. I could not stand up for awhile when I first recovered. Through studying Dafa, doing the five sets of exercises, and sending forth righteous thoughts, I got better and better. My family was amazed by my recovery and my parents are very happy. The doctor once said if the surgery were successful, I might be able to sit up after one and half a months!
Later, fellow practitioners asked me to write my experiences down and send them to Clearwisdom.net. What I would like to say to fellow practitioners who are still suffering in various ways is, "Firmly believe in Dafa and Teacher! When we truly forget about life and death, and do what a Dafa practitioner should do, Teacher will do everything for us."
(Clearwisdom.net) On a Sunday morning, I went to a tourist site in my area and clarified the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution with Chinese tourists. Afterwards, I suggested to fellow practitioners that we go practice the Falun Gong exercises in a nearby park. But the elderly practitioners that have been demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises on the sidewalk at this tourist site since the persecution against Falun Gong began said to me, "If we go practice the Falun Gong exercises in the nearby park, the Chinese people touring this place won't be able to see us. Why don't we practice the exercises here? They can see us if we practice here. They can see people practicing Falun Gong in Korea if we practice here." Their reply had an immediate impact on me.
Indeed, "They can see us if we practice here." This is the very purpose. In order to have the Chinese tourists see the Falun Gong exercises with their own eyes and understand the nature of Falun Gong, these elderly practitioners in their 60's and 70's gave up practicing the Falun Gong exercises in the quiet park and have been demonstrating the exercises on the noisy sidewalk day after day, rain or shine.
"They can see us if we practice here." It may seem like an ordinary statement, but it fully revealed the compassion of these fellow practitioners. Although these practitioners are not involved in truth-clarification projects that will give them high visibility or status, I see now that they think about showing Falun Gong's cultivation principles and sharing the truth about Falun Gong to the world's people at all times.
In comparison to these practitioners, I may be busier with certain forms of truth-clarification work. But I often succumb to the temptation of the higher visibility and status of these types of projects, and thus allow my addiction to work and accomplishment, as well as my attachments to showing off and zealotry, to breed and grow. I even thought matter-of-factly that these elderly practitioners are "supposed to" demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises on the streets or that they don't have any other choice for truth-clarification work because they lack the superior talents and skills required for certain truth-clarification projects. After hearing what they said today, I felt ashamed of myself. I asked myself, "Am I truly clarifying the truth about Falun Gong for compassionate reasons? Is each and every one of my thoughts truly from the Fa (1)?" Suddenly I remembered the story entitled, "Golden Buddha" published on Clearwisdom.net (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2003/11/2/41918.html.).
I saw the disparity between these elderly fellow practitioners and me.
(Clearwisdom.net) During the first time classes were held at Dalian in April 1994, the Dalian Qigong Association invited Master Li to go sight-seeing by the seashore on Haibin Road and Tiger Beach.
The practitioner Gao Qiuju excitedly talked with her fellow members of the Dalian Qigong Association about what they observed through their celestial eyes: "See, one dragon is paddling in the water over there; a female immortal is pulling another dragon up from the water by its nose; there are many treasures in the heavens..." While she was taking pictures, Qiuju delightedly said: "This is to welcome our Master."
Hearing their talking, without saying anything, Master quietly wrote a sentence in the sand of the beach: "Supernormal abilities are small skills, Dafa is what is fundamental."
(Clearwisdom.net) The distinction between doing the three things (1) and doing the three things well is huge. In actuality, one can truly do the three things well only when one has a solid foundation in cultivation and few attachments. Conversely, if one only immerses oneself in the formality of doing these things, and doesn't deal with tribulations from the standpoint of the Fa, or one does not get rid of one's attachments diligently, then it's just like an ordinary person doing the three things. No matter how good the method is, one will not necessarily achieve a good outcome.
We all have these experiences: When our attachments are too strong, we will not able to eat well, sleep well, or stay calm when we study the Fa. People won't listen to us when we are clarifying the truth to them. Sometimes they even refute what we say and make us feel very uncomfortable. Even though we don't seem to mind on the surface, we care a lot deep down. We are not exhibiting the generous, unselfish, compassionate, and the righteous thought of a true cultivator.
Therefore, as long as our attachments consistently stay with us, all kinds of troubles will manifest in this human dimension and we will experience interference. We must send forth righteous thoughts or have other practitioners help send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate these tribulations. If we do not find the reason behind the tribulations, face up to our attachments and resolve to eliminate them, then external forces cannot solve the problem for us.

The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Case 1: Head of Armed Forces Department in Huaxi Town, Guiyang City of Guizhou Province Suffers from Cancer
Pan Qinglin, male, 41 years old, is the head of the Armed Forces Department in Huaxi Town, Guiyang City of Guizhou Province. Since July 20, 1999, he has participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners advised him not to follow Jiang's orders to persecute Falun Gong, but he paid no heed to their kind advice and from the beginning to the end he did not awaken to his mistakes.
Two days after the Spring Festival in 2004, he was diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer. After surgery, his health worsened. His weight dropped from around 90 kg (200 lbs) to 60 kg (130 lbs). His hair turned completely white. In July, his medical expenses reached fifty thousand yuan and his family ran into financial difficulties.
Since July 20, 1999 when Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong, a dozen Falun Dafa practitioners in Guizhou Province have been sentenced to prison. At the same time, there were also many incidents of burglary at the residences of Falun Dafa practitioners who were illegally sentenced to prison. These burglaries were similar in that the written judgments against these practitioners were stolen and these were clearly actions taken by the police themselves. They called the house beforehand to check if anyone was at home, and then they illegally broke into the house and took away the written judgment. They made it look like a real burglary performed by a thief. Practitioners and family members, please take note of this and safeguard the written judgment. This document is also evidence of the Jiang regime's persecution against Dafa practitioners.
Case 2: Party Secretary of Houchen Village, Huolong Town of Yuzhou in Henan Province Dies of Cancer
Zhu Hongwei, male, in his 30's, party secretary of Houchen Village, Huolong Town of Yuzhou in Henan Province, died from cancer. In 2002, he collaborated with a villager in the neighboring village and forcefully sold the farmland of a female Falun Dafa practitioner who had left home to avoid persecution. Zhu Hongwei pocketed 2000 yuan from the sale. He died from cancer in May 2003 while the villager who participated in persecuting the practitioner developed diabetes.

At 8:00 a.m. on August 19, 2004, the police were on high alert inside and outside the Qiaoxi District Court, Xingtai Province, Hebei Province. The reason for this was the illegal sentencing of practitioner Mr. Wang Shengbiao from Shijiazhuang City and two other practitioners from Xingtai City, Hebei Province who were determined to persist in practicing Falun Dafa according to "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance."

2. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Practitioner Su Guangli
On the morning of July 30, 2004, personnel from the Jiangshan Town Political and Judiciary Committee and from the local police precinct arrested Ms. Su Guangli from Xilinghou Village, Jiangshan Town, Laixi City, Shandong Province when she was doing housework. Su Guangli is currently being detained at the Xinzhuang Brainwashing Class, Wangcheng, Laixi City. She is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Arrest of Practitioner Ma Yunxiu
In July 2003, police from the Development District office and personnel from the Wendeng "610 Office" in the Wendeng Development District, Shandong Province, arrested 48-year-old practitioner Ms. Ma Yunxiu from Qianche Village, Gangcheng Street Fangzi District of Weifang City, Shandong Province. They also arrested two other female practitioners in their 40s at the same time. No one, not even her family members, know her whereabouts.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Torture of Practitioner Zhou Guoqing
On August 18, practitioner Mr. Zhou Guoqing from Changchun City's Puyang Elementary School was arrested and taken to a forced labor camp. Since he was arrested, he has been shouting, "Falun Dafa is great!" and did not cooperate with the evildoers' torture. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
On August 19, the vicious police force-fed him and stuffed a pair of old, foul-smelling socks into his mouth. Zhou Guoqing is currently being hung up in a small cell, suffering this inhuman torture.
5. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Illegal Detention of Cui Defen at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Dafa practitioner Ms. Cui Defen, over 40 years old, is an employee of the Components Branch for Luoyang City's Tractor Factory in Henan Province. In July 2004, when she went back to her hometown, Fushun City in Liaoning Province, she was arrested for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. She is currently being held at the No. 2 Team of the No. 2 Division in Liaoning Province's Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
6. [Chongqing] Lawless Policemen Forcibly Arrested Shen Fengmei from the Shapingba District
Dafa practitioner Ms. Shen Fengmei from Shuangbei, the Shapingba District, Chongqing City, has retired from the Special Steel Factory. Policemen arrested her on her way back from a market and sent her to the Geleshan Brainwashing Center for torment.
7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Liu Shuqin
On August 17, 2004, personnel from Daqing City's Xiangyang Police Precinct illegally arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Shuqin from the Longfeng District, Daqing City. They ransacked her house. On August 18, they sent Liu Shuqin to the Daqing City Detention Center.

8. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Yan Chunmu Has Been Missing Since His Disappearance Four Years Ago
Yan Chunmu is a Dafa practitioner from the Longganhu Farm in Huangmei County, Hubei Province. He was born in 1935 and had joined the army to fight during the Korean War. In November 2000 he went to Beijing to tell the authorities the truth of Falun Gong, but there has been no information of him since then.
9. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Wang Xiumei and Wang Yongjiu
During the night of August 18, 2004, when Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xiumei and Ms. Wang Yongjiu were distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials, they were arrested. They are currently being detained at Qinhuangdao City's No. 2 Detention Center, in violation of the Chinese Constitution.
(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

Facts of the Persecution
Ms. Liu Lihua, a 37-year-old Dafa practitioner, made VCDs to expose the slander against Falun Dafa. On June 9, 2002, perpetrators from the Hailin City Police Department in Heilongjiang Province abducted her and tortured her for seven days and nights, during which time she lost consciousness many times. Later, Ms. Liu was sentenced to seven years in prison and was sent to the Hailin City Detention Center. She is currently being held at the Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Prison.
The perpetrators at the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province continue to torture Dafa practitioners. Wang Min, the deputy head of the labor camp, often verbally abuses the founder of Falun Gong. He shocked Dafa practitioners with electric batons and hung them up; he detained Dafa practitioners in solitary confinement cells and tried to force them to write a "Guarantee Statement." Guo Li, the head of the labor camp, was appointed as the head of the Administration Section. Guo Li mentally tormented practitioners.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Shumei is around 45 years of age and lived in the Hongkou District, Shanghai. On June 9, 2004, Tian Guangqing, a local police officer, abducted her and ransacked her home. Zhou Shumei was held at the Hongkou District Detention Center. Soon, Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Meihua, who lives in the same neighborhood as Zhou Shumei, was arrested and held for over one month. Later she was directly sent to a brainwashing class in Shanghai. Wang Meihua's husband could not endure the harassment and proposed a divorce. Her young child is currently uncared for due to the persecution.
Two five-year-old twin sisters, Wang Yuyi and Wang Yutian, wrote "Falun Dafa is great" on the wall of their kindergarten, and their father and paternal grandmother, who were deceived by the lies of Jiang's regime, prohibited them from seeing their mother and maternal grandmother who practice Falun Gong.
In April 2004, Fu Guisheng and Wang Aishu, the secretary and head of Tianjinggou Village, Caisang Town reported three Dafa practitioners who distributed truth clarification materials. As a result, six practitioners were arrested and their homes were ransacked. Guo Xiaobing, head of the Caisang Town Police Department dispatched police to arrest Dafa practitioners. They broke into the practitioners' homes at midnight and threatened the practitioners.
