(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li Hai, 69 years old, lived in Xiaozhuanggou Village, Haojiangzhuang Town in Zhucheng City, Shandong Province. He passed away on December 23, 2002 [Chinese lunar calendar] after suffering long-term persecution, including threats and extortion of money.
Before he practiced Falun Gong, Li Hai had many illnesses, all of which disappeared after he started practicing Falun Gong. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Li Fengchun, the former head of Haojiazhuang Town Police Station, police officer Zhang Chongguan, and the former Xiaozhuanggou Village Party branch secretary, Guo Fangxue, as well as the head of village militia, Guo Fangming, constantly persecuted Li Hai.
Li Hai's son, a determined Falun Dafa practitioner, went to Beijing to appeal in 2000 and was brought back from Beijing and detained. The Zhucheng City Police Department fined the Haojiazhuang Town Police Station 5,000 yuan (1). (At the time, if Falun Gong practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal were abducted and held in Beijing, the authorities in Beijing would notify their local police departments to pick up the practitioner(s) in Beijing and the local government would be fined a large amount of money.) Because the Haojiazhuang Town Police Station had to pay 5,000 yuan, Guo Fangxue and Guo Mingchang constantly extorted money from Li Hai and threatened and otherwise tormented him.
After bringing Li Hai's son back from Beijing, the perpetrators from the Zhucheng City Police Department sentenced him to three years in a labor camp.
Li Hai and his wife relied on their son for financial support. After their only son was sent to the Changle County Forced Labor Camp, their life became very difficult. In order to get the 5,000 yuan from the couple, the perpetrators from the Haojiazhuang Town Police Station constantly harassed and extorted money from Li Hai. They forced him to sell his only cow. After failing to meet the 5,000 yuan extortion demand, Li Hai was forced to sell his peanuts and other crops. Then the perpetrators abducted Li Hai anyway and sent him to the Haojiazhuang Town Police Station and further threatened and abused him. After his release, Li Hai had to walk with the support of a cane and later could not take care of himself. Li Hai suffered terribly under the long-term persecution, threats, terror and extortion. He passed away on December 23, 2002.

To the National Security Team of the Changchun City Police Department and Tiebei Detention Center:
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Yong, 46 years old, is from Section 10, Guangming Village, Xingfu Township of Changchun City. He had a strong body and was in perfect health. However, such a strong and healthy man was tortured to death within a short period of only a few weeks. In the light of day, you dared to willfully kill an innocent man!
Jiang Yong used to be bad-tempered and overbearing before he began practicing Falun Dafa. Since he began practicing in 1996, he went through extraordinary changes. He became a good person who did not fight back when hit or cursed. He no longer fought for self-interest, but instead he put other's interest before his own. He disciplined himself according to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." All his friends and family members were amazed by his remarkable changes.
Like hundreds of thousands of Dafa practitioners, Jiang Yong also suffered from the persecution. He had been abducted and detained many times, sent to forced labor camps, and his home was searched. His wife was also persecuted and sent to forced labor for one year. During the police raids in their home, their child became so frightened that he hid himself and their elderly parents were trembling with fear. Since 2000, Jiang Yong had been staying away from home and travelling about to avoid persecution. A happy family was torn apart due to the persecution.
On April 13, 2004, you [Tiebei Detention Center authorities] illegally abducted Jiang Yong. You exhausted all the torture methods, including the "Big Hang Up" (1), "Tiger Bench," "Hammering Bamboo Sticks under the Fingernails" (2), shocking him with electric batons, force-feeding him with pepper water, and suffocating him by covering his head with plastic bags. Seven practitioners who were abducted along with him also suffered these tortures. Dafa practitioner Mr. Guo Wenshui's vertebrae were broken, and you are still trying your best to block the news. After being continuously tortured for eight days, Jiang Yong was at the brink of death. Not only did you refuse to release him, instead you sent him to the provincial police hospital for further persecution. After more than 30 days in the hospital, on May 26, Jiang Yong was sent back to the Tiebei Detention Center. Because he refused to cooperate with your evil requests and instigation to renounce Falun Dafa, and instead protested the cruel tortures with a hunger strike, you then incited the murderers and drug addicts to torture him both physically and mentally. You made him suffer every single second. Within 38 days, Jiang Yong passed away -- what a shocking injustice!
On July 4, you [Tiebei Detention Center authorities] sent the death notice to his family, claiming the cause of death to be "acute disease" and fabricated a so-called "explanation of death" document. With a single phoney document, you attempted to deny the fact that you murdered him.
Jiang Yong was very healthy and did not have any illness since he started practicing Falun Dafa. "Died from acute disease?!" Why is there a black and blue bloody scar on his neck? Why is his whole body black and blue? Why did blood spill out from his mouth when his body was turned over? Why was toilet paper put into his anus? Why did you falsely report the time of his death? Why did you change the clothes on his body? Why you are afraid of his family's taking photos of his body? Why did you even beat them away in order to prevent the photos from been taken?
Jiang Zemin and his followers who persecute the innocent have been sued by practitioners all over the world for genocide, torture, and crimes against humanity. The Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice was also founded in 2003.
We hereby advise you: Do not deceive yourselves. Good is rewarded with good and evil is eventually met with retribution. It is simply a matter of time.

(1) "Big Hang Up": In this torture, one hand of a practitioner is handcuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed; the two beds are pulled in opposite directions, causing one to suffer extreme pain as the body is stretched until it can no longer be pulled further apart, and both of the practitioner's feet are lifted from the ground. It is extremely painful and most people cannot endure it for longer than a few minutes. At this point, jail guards would use electric batons to hit the practitioner's face, hands, body, and feet. A person's finger tips and inner soles of the feet are the most painful spots. For older practitioners and people with heart problems, the police would ask the doctor to stand by and be ready for emergency treatment if something happened during the torture.
(2): Hammering Bamboo Sticks under the Fingernails: The police hammer sharp bamboo sticks into the fingers of the practitioner through the tip of the fingernails. In the process of the hammering, the fingernail will get torn off completely. As one's fingers are extremely sensitive, the hammering process causes the kind of excruciating pain that one cannot even begin to describe. The police first hammer the bamboo stick into one finger. If the practitioner still refuses to give in, the police will hammer bamboo sticks into more and more fingers until they reach all ten fingers.

Plaintiff: Ms. Lin Junlan, wife of the victim Mr. Liu Yufeng, 65 years old, resident of Xiaozetou Village in Songcun Town, Wendeng City.
Defendant: Police from Wendeng City Police Department
Cause of Complaint: Defendants, the Wendeng City Police Department's police force to be extensively investigated and brought to justice by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, for engaging in criminal acts, including violation of human rights, torture, and murder.
Complainant hereby formally charges:
On July 18, 2000, around 3 p.m., over 200 Falun Gong practitioners were unlawfully detained in the Shanxi Village Courtyard, Songcun Town, by police of the Wendeng City Police Department. All practitioners were forced to sit on the ground, were interrogated without due cause and beaten up one by one.
64 year-old Dafa practitioner Liu Yufeng was fearless. Cong Shuqin, the leader in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners said, "You just wait and see what I will do to you!"
On July 18, 2000, around 6 p.m., the Wendeng City Police Department police arrested and then detained Mr. Liu Yufeng in the Wendeng Detention Center without due cause. They did not notify Mr. Liu's family within the time period specified under the law.
On July 22, 2000, around 9:00 p.m., the fourth day of Mr. Liu's unlawful detention, the Wendeng City Police Department notified Mr. Liu's family to come and get him. Mr. Liu's family found Mr. Liu at death's door and they noticed wounds all over his body. He could not move and was disfigured. It was heartrending to see him suffering like this! His family carried him to a taxi and took him home. On July 23, the following day, Mr. Liu died.
On July 24, an autopsy was performed, as the cause of Mr. Liu's death could not be determined. The Wendeng City coroner, associated with the Justice Department, advised Mr. Liu's three family members, Mr. Liu Zhiming, Mr. Liu Zhiqiang, and Mr. Hou Yongqiang, who were present at the autopsy of his findings:
Requested of the Supreme People's Procuratorate that a special investigation commence in May of 2004. Such investigation should include investigation of government officials' abuse of power and violation of human rights. The following five wrongful acts should be investigated:
It is suggested that of the five crimes outlined above, the Wendeng City Police Department policy committed #1, #2, #3 and #5 against Mr. Liu Yufeng. We wish to note here that those who are responsible are still free and continue to carry out Jiang Zemin's policy of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. There still is no end in sight to such crimes.
We hereby call on the Supreme People's Procurotorate to investigate the crimes that are in violation of people's human rights, committed by the Wendeng City Police Department. The People request that the Supreme People's Procurotorate enforce all existing laws, and penalizes those in violation of such laws.
(Clearwisdom.net) Liao Yuanhua, 47, was the former Discipline Committee Secretary of the Wuxue City Forestry Bureau. He began practicing Falun Gong in 1998 and was an honest and excellent government employee. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, Mr. Liao persisted in telling the facts about Falun Dafa with a compassionate heart. Liao Yuanhua wasn't afraid of threats or violence. Because he appealed to the government on behalf of Falun Gong, Mr. Liao was dismissed from the Party. After he was illegally detained in a detention center for one year, on June 1, 2001 he was sent to the Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang, Hubei Province.
In Fanjiatai Prison, Liao Yuanhua was subjected to almost 30 different methods of brutal torture, including being burned with hot bricks (1), "flying the airplane," being jabbed with a mop handle, being struck in the head with a coat hanger, having his mouth covered with a towel dipped in excrement, being suspended by all four limbs and "suspended like a swing," being beaten on the face and ears with a shoe, having his eyes smeared with hot peppers, having his head smashed against a wall, having medicinal grade alcohol poured into his nose and mouth, solitary confinement, having his burn-wounded feet beaten with a thorny palm rope, not being allowed to use the restroom, sleep deprivation, injections with unknown drugs, forced feeding, being forced to stand all day long, having his anus plugged with a bottle stopper, having his face burned with mosquito-repellent incense, and other cruel means.
The following pictures, staged by Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China, illustrate how prisoners and police tortured Liao Yuanhua. Because practitioners in China are still suffering from the persecution, the actors' faces are blurred. Except for the police who wore their uniforms, everyone else was dressed in prison clothes of blue with white stripes. In addition, when Liao Yuanhua went on a hunger strike in the hospital, he didn't wear anything most of time because he was severely burned over most of his body.
How Liao Yuanhua Was Tortured in Fanjiatai Prison
In the Rujian Team at Fanjiatai Prison, Team Leader Shi Heping arranged for six criminal inmates to torture Liao Yuanhua day and night, forcing him to hold still in a standing position, depriving him of sleep, and beating him if he moved even slightly. In order to force Liao Yuanhua to walk in formation together with the other prisoners, they handcuffed his hands behind his back to "fly the airplane" (see below).
On one occasion Police Officer Li urged the other prisoners to hold Liao Yuanhua in the storeroom and to abuse him for three hours, jabbing him with a mop handle and smacking his head with a coat hanger. As they beat him they asked, "Do you still say Falun Gong is good?" Liao Yuanhua answered, "Falun Gong is absolutely good." He didn't change his answer, and his assailants didn't stop beating him.
On August 3, 2001, Officer Shi Heping arrived with handcuffs and five new inmate prisoners (Wang Haifeng, Chen Yueming, Fu Xiang, Du Shengke, and Huang Heming), and said to Liao Yuanhua, "Today you will enter the next stage of labor reeducation. These five will specially supervise you. Now come with me!" Liao Yuanhua was taken to the No. 8 Team's forced labor site, the brickyard kiln where he was forced to pick up the bricks and put them in order. The bricks are too hot to touch with bare hands. Everyone must wear insulated gloves to protect their hands from being burned. Liao Yuanhua would not be able to do the job at all without the protective gloves. Liao Yuanhua needed to use the restroom. Shi Heping not only didn't allow him to relieve himself, but also brought out the handcuffs, and ordered the prisoners to handcuff him and push him into the brick-kiln.
It was extremely hot inside the kiln. They all could feel the heat coming up through the soles of their shoes. His tormentors made Liao Yuanhua take off his shoes, and ordered him to stand barefooted. He jumped from one foot to the other, as both feet were burning. The inmate prisoners stepped on his feet to intensify the pain. Five of them, two by three, took turns torturing him like this (see below).
Liao Yuanhua couldn't stand the pain any more. After the prisoners put a burning brick under his buttocks, Liao Yuanhua lost consciousness due to the intense pain.
After Liao Yuanhua fainted, he was sent to the prison hospital where the persecution continued. The doctor said that his body was severely burned all over. Nevertheless, Liao Yuanhua's hands were handcuffed to the bed, his legs were shackled, and he was forced to watch a video slandering Falun Gong (see below).

In the evening, staff members lifted Liao Yuanhua and carried him to the lobby where they made him sit on a high, narrow bar instead of letting him sleep. His burnt buttocks hung over the bar, his shackled feet were suspended, and his burnt feet were bleeding. By the next day his feet had swollen.
In November 2001 the staff sent Liao Yuanhua back to the Rujian Team, who continued torturing him by making him stand, depriving him of sleep, and refusing to let him use the restroom, among other torments. Officer Xiao Tianbo told the prisoner Pan Guangfu, "Do not allow him to use the restroom without my permission." Liao Yuanhua asked Xiao Tianbo, "How many times will you let me use the restroom?" Xiao Tianbo said, "It depends on when I come back. I will decide when I come back."
When Liao Yuanhua asked to use the restroom, the prisoners refused to give permission. Liao Yuanhua questioned them, "What sin is it to be a Falun Gong cultivator? Why do you persecute me?" Then five or six inmates held Liao Yuanhua to the ground and brutally beat him. Prisoner Pan Guangfu pounded on Liao Yuanhua's back with a stool until it broke.
His tormentors knew that Falun Gong practitioners don't drink alcohol, so they tried to pour isopropyl alcohol into Lia Yuanhua's mouth. When he closed his mouth tightly, they poured the alcohol into his nose.

On hot days, the staff tied a stool to Liao Yuanhua's neck and burned mosquito-repellent incense to torture his face. On cold days, they didn't let him sleep. As soon as he nodded off they poured cold water all over him.

On October 28, 2003, Liao Yuanhua was sent to the hospital in Shayang Prison because he went on a hunger strike to protest the cruel persecution. They handcuffed his hands and feet to the bed to force a tube down his throat. They said they would not take out the tube or remove his handcuffs if he didn't agree to eat. After Liao Yuanhua bit the first tube they inserted, the prison doctors pried his mouth open with pliers and inserted a second one.

Since the tube was left in for a long time (every day Liao Yuanhua was fed a bit of liquid food), the pain in his throat prevented him from sleeping. The prison doctors also forcibly injected him with unknown drugs.

At the end of March 2002, using the excuse that Liao Yuanhua hadn't "admitted his guilt," police officer Xiao Tianbo put him in solitary confinement and ordered prisoners Zou Xiong and Pan Guangfu to physically torture him. They made him stand day and night, deprived him of sleep, gave him little or no food, put hot pepper in his eyes, and beat him.

Police Officer Zu from the "Strict Discipline Team" told the inmates, "Beat him if he refuses to renounce Falun Gong!" Two prisoners took turns beating Liao Yuanhua's buttocks with a shoe.

(1) In the brickyard kiln at Fanjiatai Labor Camp, it is 80 degrees Celsius (176o F), and the baked bricks are red-hot. The guards pushed Liao Yuanhua onto a pile of hot bricks. With smoke coming from his burnt body, Liao Yuanhua fainted instantly. The police watched and laughed at his suffering.
(Clearwisdom.net) In the past five years, Lu Ping (female), a member of the Political Committee of the Xindian Women's Forced Labor Camp in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, has directly orchestrated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Methods used against practitioners include prohibiting them from sleeping and going to the toilet, and brutally beating them in order to make them give up the practice of Falun Gong.
Practitioner Ms. Ma Yueying firmly believed in "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" and was thus sent up for "special treatment" in October 2000. She was isolated from other practitioners. The labor camp had written all kind of vicious words and comments attacking Dafa and Teacher all over the floor, walls, and ceiling of her cell. The guards, Meng Ying and Liu Zhongmei, ordered the prisoners (drug abusers) to strip Ma Yueying, humiliate her and brutally beat her. They also hung Ma Yueying up-side-down. They brutally beat her and tortured her to make her give up her belief. In February 2004, in order to reduce the need to go to the bathroom, Ma Yueying had to stop eating. Meng Ying and other guards, regardless of her safety, many times ordered the prisoners to pin her down on the floor, hold her nose and forcefully inject water into her nose. As Ms. Ma was not allowed to go to the toilet, she had to urinate in her pants, and was then brutally beaten for it. During the bitter cold winter, Ms. Ma was only allowed to wear a thin shirt and pants. She was freezing and always shivering. There were large bruised areas on her face and body due to the beatings, and her left ear had lost the ability to hear.
Practitioner Ms. Xin Enhao went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was illegally sentenced to forced labor for two years. Because she persisted in practicing "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance," her sentence was prolonged for almost three years. The guards, Meng Ying and Lei Hongzhen, tortured her. In the summer of 2002, Xin Enhao was forced to stand still for a long period of time, and as a result her legs became terribly swollen. Under the order of the guards, the prisoners used iron rods to brutally hit her in her private areas, on the soles of the feet, and on her arms. She was injured everywhere. Her feet were so swollen that she couldn't wear shoes; her arms and waist area were severely bruised; her private area was swollen and bleeding. Ms. Xin is only a young girl! Other practitioners helped her to wash her pants and they had to use more than a dozen buckets of water to clean up the large amount of blood. By then, Ms. Xin face was pale and jaundiced and her body was extremely weak. The guards did not stop beating her until her life was in danger.
In the winter of 2002, Xin Enhao refused to cooperate with the evil demands to renounced Falun Dafa and the guard, Meng Ying, forced her to sleep on the cold floor in the corridor. While others still felt cold with two layers of comforters, Ms. Xin had to sleep on the cold floor with only her clothes and a thin sheet. To push her into giving up her practice, two guards, Meng Ying and Liu Zhongmei, would not allow her to sleep at regular hours. She was not allowed to go to sleep before midnight. Sometimes this continued for more than two months. They used excuses such as to "communicate" or wanting to "talk heart to heart," to keep her from sleeping.
In the winter of 2003, on a snowy day, Meng Ying and Liu Zhongmei ordered the prisoners to take off Xin Enhao's cotton jacket and leave her with just a thin shirt and pants. They poured water on her and took her outside at night, trying to freeze her. One time they almost damaged Ms. Xin's eyes by beating her. Her eyelids were split open and bleeding profusely. They had to do surgery to close up the wound.
Xin Enhao was forced to squat down for a long period of time and as a result, she could not walk afterwards. The guard Liu Zhongmei only allowed Ms. Xin to eat cold steamed buns and salted vegetables. They would rather throw away rice than let Ms. Xin eat it. Later, the guards thought of all kinds of vicious ways to torture her and shake her belief in Dafa, but they all failed. They called in her parents from thousands of miles away with the intention to use her parents to persuade Ms. Xin to give up Falun Gong. When her parents saw that she had become emaciated, they broke into tears. The guards wouldn't stop speaking ill of Xin Enhao, but Ms. Xin's mother was so sad and angry that she eventually vomited blood and was sent to the hospital. Xin Enhao said firmly, "I love my parents but I won't renounce my faith in Teacher and Dafa." Her behavior was the manifestation of her firm belief in Dafa as a genuine practitioner.
(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Zou Jin. I am a 70-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner from Changsha Ciy, Hunan Province, China. I used to have high blood pressure, had suffered a stroke, a heart attack, gallstones, and sciatica. In short, I suffered from numerous ailments, but they disappeared after I started to practice Falun Gong. After Jiang Zemin began the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, I was abducted and illegally detained in prison because I was determined to practice Falun Gong. In the horrible prison environment, not only did my old ailments resurface, but I started to suffer from new ones. With a meager 300 Yuan (1) monthly pension as my only income, how could I afford medical treatment if I am denied the right to practice Falun Gong? As a result, I now suffer from the torment of multiple ailments, all because of the persecution by Jiang's regime.
I was fortunate to learn Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) in 1997, and have continued to practice since that time. Soon after beginning the practice, all of my illnesses went away without a trace. I felt like a new person, illness free. I was immensely grateful for what Falun Gong had done for me, so I tried to introduce Falun Gong to as many people as possible so that more people could benefit from this wonderful cultivation practice.
On July 20, 1999, less than two years after I had begun practicing, Jiang Zemin began his senseless persecution against Falun Gong. The local police then falsely accused me of "disrupting social order" because I distributed truth-clarification materials to other people. On February 20, 2001, police officer Lei Zhen from the Jingwanzi Police Station in Yuhua District, Changsha City brought six of his fellow officers to my home, and deceived me into going to the police station. At the police station, Lei Zhen threatened me while trying to get me to sign a "Guarantee Statement." When I refused, he violently slammed the desks and chairs around, trying to terrify me. At that time I lacked sufficient righteous thoughts, so I succumbed to Lei Zhen and signed the Guarantee Statement. The police set up an interrogation room and took turns interrogating me for three consecutive days and nights. Even the head and chairman of the Jingwanzi Police Station came to interrogate me. They deprived a 70-year-old woman like me of sleep! When they had exhausted all means to force me to tell them the names of my fellow Falun Gong practitioners and the source of the truth-clarification materials in my possession, they used a "Reformed" ex-Falun Gong practitioner to assist them. This "Reformed" woman wanted her prison term reduced, so she lied to the police. She told the police that I was the person who supplied her with the truth-clarification materials the police had found while ransacking her home. Right before my illegal trial she told me what she had done. She said, "I have done terrible things to you, and now my family and I have met karmic retribution. My son is suffering from a severe illness and my mother has been diagnosed with cancer."
Immediately after I was deceived into going to the Jingwanzi Police Station, the police illegally ransacked my home. They confiscated more than 200 small flyers with the message, "Falun Dafa is good," and stole about 3,000 Yuan and a bankbook showing a 1,500 Yuan balance. Lei Zhen repeatedly said to me, "I can make a major case out of this, or I can turn a blind eye to everything. What do you say?" He was suggesting that I should buy my freedom.
After the police interrogated me for three days and nights, they transferred me directly to the Changsha City No. 1 Detention Center. Again, the police there tried to make me turn in my fellow practitioners and the source of the truth-clarification materials in my possession. They cursed at me and they tried to threaten me, but I was impervious to their threats and curses. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts, and kept thinking to myself, "I am a Falun Dafa disciple. I have not committed any crimes. It is a noble cause to distribute truth-clarification materials and have people know the truth about Falun Gong." In one of the many interrogation sessions, the police barked at me fiercely, "If you refuse to cooperate with us, we will make sure that you die in jail and that your body becomes dog food!" Because the police could not get any information from me or extort any money from me, they presented the prosecutor with cooking knives and a whetstone as evidence of a crime I had no knowledge of. And so I was sentenced to nine years in prison on the charge of "Obstruction of Justice."
At the illegal trial, I questioned the judge and the prosecutor: "You have already ransacked my home so you know I have no copying machine or printer. How could I possibly produce such a large number of flyers? These people are supposed to be public servants, and their salaries come from taxpayers. However, they violate the law and bully an innocent elderly woman such as me. I have heard before that Jiang Zemin ordered his henchmen to persecute Falun Gong practitioners according to the following policy: 'Defame their reputation, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically.' Now I realize it's true because all the police officers I met have fully abided by this policy." The judge and the prosecutor heard my defense statement and wrote it down, but they still sentenced me to nine years in prison. When I was sent back to Changsha City's No. 1 Detention Center, even the police officers there thought the sentence was unreasonable, and suggested that I appeal.
My health declined day by day in prison. After being incarcerated and suffering hardships in prison for more than one year, my health deteriorated to a critical state. On the evening of March 24, 2003, I was on the verge of death and was hurried on a stretcher to Changsha City's No. 3 Hospital for emergency resuscitation. I was skin and bones, and barely breathing. The prison staff notified my family to start preparing for my funeral. The hospital discovered that several illnesses had surfaced at the same time, that were very likely going to claim my life. They notified my family three times that I was dying and asked them to prepare for the worst. The prison was afraid of being held responsible, so they quickly released me on the condition that I would serve my term outside of prison.
My family took me home from the hospital, and two weeks later, when they went to the hospital to sign the patient release form, the hospital staff thought I had already passed away. They were so shocked to hear that I could get out of bed, walk, and eat normally. I suppose a marvelous phenomenon such as my miraculous survival will always strike non-practitioners as incredible. Only cultivators understand that it is the result of my steadfast faith in Falun Dafa, my righteous thoughts, the mighty power of Falun Dafa, and Teacher Li Hongzhi's compassionate protection.
Nevertheless, I am still suffering from the persecution. It has been more than a year since I returned home. I am an elderly widow with no income. I was supposed to receive a monthly financial compensation but it was stolen from me. While I was detained in the detention center and prison, the factory where I had once worked had not stopped issuing me a monthly check. But a staff member from the Political and Legal Committee in Tianxin District, a Mr. Li, pretended to be a family member, and claimed more than 3,000 Yuan from the factory. I learned of his fraud only after I returned home. I asked the secretary of the Neighborhood Administration Office in my area, Mr. Zou, to settle this matter on my behalf, and I checked with Mr. Zou from time to time, but I still have not been able to get my money back. I feel very anxious because I need to pay back the money I borrowed for my medical expenses. Then I asked the factory if they could continue to issue me my monthly checks, but they told me that they cannot pay an employee on medical prison leave without orders from upper management. Even a prisoner on Death Row is given food, but I, as a person on medical bail, seem to have even less rights than a prisoner on Death Row. How am I going to support myself? For over a year I have lived on the charity of my friends and relatives, but this is not a long-term solution.
Because I practice Falun Dafa, I should maintain kind thoughts and think positively. I thought perhaps that the reason why the fraud hasn't been settled might be that the staff at the Neighborhood Administration Office handling these matters is overwhelmed with cases. I don't think I have ever been a nuisance to them, or disrupted their work. I simply followed the standard procedure by filing a complaint with them. However, when the Neighborhood Administration Office received my very first complaint, they were unsympathetic to my dilemma and didn't try to solve the problem. Instead, they cursed at me and lectured me. Some of my neighbors with righteous spirits felt compelled to write additional complaints on my behalf. They must have sent the Neighborhood Administration Office six or seven complaints, but they got no responses.
After being at home for over a year, I decided that I must not slack off despite my financial crisis. I must follow Teacher's teaching and do the three things well: Study the Fa (2), send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. When I learned that folks in my hometown in Zhuzhou County, Hunan Province had not learned the truth about Falun Gong, I decided that I must share it with them one way or another. On March 26, 2004 I went to the countryside in Zhuzhou County with my nephew's wife. Before I got off the bus, I left behind a few copies of truth-clarification materials for other passengers to read. Unfortunately, a passenger who saw the truth-clarification materials reported to the local police, and the information led the police to my relative's home in Zhuzhou. The local police ransacked my relative's home and found several copies of truth-clarification materials, so they handcuffed her and brought her to the local police station to be interrogated. Because my relative in Zhuzhou was not yet a Falun Gong practitioner, she told the police that she had received the materials from me, and told them my address in Changsha City.
At about 3:00 a.m. on March 28, 2004, four police officers suddenly showed up and ransacked my home without a search warrant. They left nothing untouched and made a terrible mess, but they failed to find any truth-clarification materials. However, they found the court's sentence order and the bail document, and confiscated both. By 4:00 a.m. I was in a conference room at the Zhuzhou County Public Security Bureau. At around 8:00 a.m. the police officers entered the room and tried to force me to tell them information concerning my fellow Falun Gong practitioners and the source of the truth-clarification materials that I had given to my relative in Zhuzhou County. I was fearless. I kept my lips sealed, and concentrated on sending forth righteous thoughts. At around 11:00 a.m. they gave up interrogating me. When they ordered me to sign a document, I refused. From the beginning I had very strong righteous thoughts. I know I am a Falun Dafa disciple and I shall not deviate from the Fa at any time. Then suddenly I remembered Teacher's words:
"The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." (From "Drive Out Interference" in Essentials for Further Advancement II.)
I told the police that because I am a practitioner of Falun Gong, I try to be kind in all situations. My relative in Zhuzhou County is very hot tempered and often gets into disagreements and altercations. I advised her not to let her temper get the better of her, and try to walk away when people curse her. When she told me that she couldn't possibly walk away, I produced for her some Falun Gong materials that might help her be more tolerant and forgiving. I told the policeman exactly what I had said to my relative, but he wrote in the record that the kindness-promoting Falun Gong materials that I had given my relative contained content that was anti-Chinese ruling Party and anti-Chinese society. I then asked the police officer to erase the false information and write down the facts instead, and he made the correction accordingly.
I had been at the police station for 16 hours when some neighbors picked me up. During that time, I was denied food and water, but I didn't feel hungry at all. I decided there must be a reason for this tribulation. So I searched inward and discovered many attachments. Because I failed to follow Teacher's teachings in many aspects, the evil and rotten demons from other dimensions exploited my loopholes. Teacher has taught us that we walk on a very narrow cultivation path. Stray but a little and we will fall, and ruin our cultivation. Although I ended up returning home safely, I decided that it was because of Teacher's protection that I escaped from the detention center, and that I must study the Fa more diligently and eliminate my attachments through cultivation practice.
When I returned home, I discovered that the police from Zhuzhou County Precinct had already set up a network of undercover surveillance officers on both the upper and lower floors of my apartment building, around the building, and on the streets near my home. They took turns watching me around the clock. By now it should be clear to everyone why the cost of the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners is 1/4 of the national revenue! It appears that the Zhuzhou County Police are depraved. A week after March 28, the Zhuzhou County police told Changsha City's Public Security Bureau that I had gone to Zhuzhou County to distribute truth-clarification materials on March 26. One day around 3:00 p.m., about seven police officers came to my home and ordered me to pack for prison. I did not panic nor was I afraid. I said to these police officers, "Heaven will punish you for persecuting innocent people."
While I was packing up daily necessities and clothes, I thought, "I shall return home in no time." I kept sending forth righteous thoughts with a peaceful mind, when a neighbor stepped out and reproached the police officers. "She is a 70-year-old widow! She lives alone, has illnesses, and has no one to care for her! And she even has difficulty walking! Can you be less depraved? Do you have any heart! Do you have any conscience?" All the police officers avoided looking at my neighbor and could not utter a word. My neighbors watched me getting into the police car as they continued to reproach the police.
I didn't say anything in the police car. I kept sending forth righteous thoughts. We arrived at Changsha City Detention Center around 4:00 p.m., but the staff there refused to admit me to their facility. The police had no choice but to call their supervisor at Yuhua Precinct and wait for his instruction. By 6:00 p.m. they hadn't heard from him, and I thought at first it was the result of my righteous thoughts, but then I thought it must have been Teacher's protection. I remembered that I was Teacher's disciple and I should not deviate from the Fa at any time. I called for Teacher in my heart, asking for his help. "Teacher! Your disciple is now in the hands of the police. Please protect me and send me home." It was past 6:00 p.m., but the detention center still refused to take me. Soon it was past 7:00 p.m., but the police refused to give up. They called Changsha City's No. 1 Detention Center, but they refused to take me too. Next, they called Changsha Women's Prison, and received the same reply. At around 11:00 p.m., the police officers and the depraved judge that had sentenced me to nine years in prison got into the car and tried to frighten me. They told me, "You'd better not to try to distribute truth-clarification materials a second time." I told them that there wouldn't be second time. I meant they would not have a second chance to persecute me. They also asked me to promise not to persuade anyone that Falun Dafa is good, but I ignored them. It was after midnight when the police finally drove me home. They had failed to send me to prison.
The following day when my neighbors saw me, they all asked me what had happened the night before. I told them how the police had repeatedly tried to send me to prison illegally, but failed. Everyone shook their head, disapproving of the depraved acts of the Jiang Zemin regime.

We ask practitioners from around the world to help them by sending forth righteous thoughts. We also hope that all kind-hearted people will pay attention to their situation and help them escape from such an evil persecution.
Dafa practitioners Wang Yan and his wife Li Yueran from Baoding City, Hebei Province were abducted on February 11, 2004, and were detained in the Baoding City Detention Center.
Around April 28, Mr. Wang Yan started a hunger strike to protest the mistreatment. He was then transferred to the Xingtai Detention Center in Hebei Province. During this period, he was on a hunger strike all the time to protest the persecution. At 1:00 a.m. on June 18, the 51st day of Wang Yan's hunger strike, he escaped from a hospital, but at about 3:00 p.m. the next afternoon, he was arrested again.
Now, Wang Yan has been on a hunger strike for 106 days and his life is in danger. We hope that practitioners who read this information will send forth righteous thoughts together to strengthen Wang Yan and his wife Li Yueran, and to help them break free from the evil den as soon as possible.

Refusing to attend a meeting to slander Falun Dafa organized by the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland
My wife and I had an opportunity to learn Falun Gong in 1998. In September of the same year, we listened to Master Li's lectures in person at the UN Conference Hall in Geneva, which further strengthened our determination to cultivate Falun Dafa.
I graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1963, and was assigned to the Chinese Academy of Sciences to engage in research and technology related work; the title of my post was Senior Engineer (equivalent to Associate Professor). I was in charge of the management and coordination of postgraduate students' research projects in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. I was secretary to Hu Yaobang during his tenure in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. After that, I worked with a famous optics expert and engaged in the coordination and management of science and technology projects. In a missile experiment project, I served as a vice-director of the optics test team and I was greatly admired by the Commission of Technology and Industry for National Defence. My wife, Pan Shu-Zhen, was an engineer and also worked in the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1987 we came to Switzerland. Because both of us were working in the science and technology field, naturally we wanted to promote the exchange of knowledge between China and Switzerland in the field of science and technology. Therefore, we helped the Chinese Embassy to find some PhD researchers and postgraduates who were doing cutting-edge research projects and recommended that they exchange their research ideas with academics in Mainland China. We also organized some academic seminars. The effect was very good. For this reason, the Embassy had banqueted us at that time.
In December 1999, at the time of the ceremony to mark Macao's return to China, organized by the Overseas Chinese Association, the Ambassador and other embassy officials all attended. At the ceremony I recited two poems I had written. Several days later, I got a phone call from the embassy saying that the poems I wrote had been highly praised and reported to the Overseas Chinese Office of the Chinese State Department, the State Overseas Chinese Committee, and the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the form of a brief news bulletin because my two poems represented the voice of patriotic overseas Chinese citizens.

In March 2003, before the eve of the UN Human Rights Committee, we suddenly got a phone call from the Embassy, saying that a press conference would be held in Geneva in order to criticize Falun Gong and they required two overseas Chinese to attend. Since the Embassy felt that my wife and I were highly cultured and had a high standing, they decided to invite us to attend the press conference. My wife immediately refused the invitation and said we wouldn't go there because we practiced Falun Gong. The Embassy representative was astonished and silent, which proved that the Embassy didn't know we practiced Falun Gong at that time. My wife also said, "It must be wrong for our country to persecute Falun Gong. Falun Gong has been spread to the public from 1992 until 1999 and there are seventy million people practicing Falun Gong. If it were bad, why would so many people practice it? Moreover, you know my health situation. I had a lot of illnesses in the past; I was sallow and emaciated. I had to take both Chinese and Western medicines every day, and I was struggling close to death. After I practiced the exercises for fifty days all my illnesses were gone without taking any medicine. Now I feel good without any illnesses, just like any other person."
The Embassy official said, "Now that the government forbids the practice of Falun Gong, you must not practice it." My wife answered, "How could it be like that? If I stopped practicing Falun Gong and maybe returned to poor health as a result, would the government take care of me? Moreover, Falun Gong teaches people to become better persons by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and to think of others before ourselves when doing anything. There are a hundred benefits to both society and the person practicing, without any negative aspects. What's wrong with it? Why would certain people in the government be afraid of too many good people?" The conversation over the phone lasted over forty minutes, but it was mainly my wife and me talking. At last the official said, "I know Falun Gong is good for health; then you just practice at home and do not go to Geneva."
My wife answered, "We are not against the Chinese government. We go to Geneva just because we want to tell the world that the Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong is wrong, and to appeal to end this persecution as soon as possible." This was our first time to clarify the truth to the Chinese Embassy. From then on we were on the "black list." Afterwards, a consul from the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy, a Mr. Wang, said in an overseas Chinese student assembly that the Yang Lifang couple were Falun Gong practitioners, and that students should not get in touch with us. In this way they created a clear boundary between the overseas Chinese students and us.
Our citizenship was denied by the Embassy
Our passports expired on December 29th, 2003. On December 16 we went to the Embassy to extend our passports. Due to the need to visit relatives as well as travel to other countries, we applied for an expedited process. After filling in the forms we passed them through the window. The embassy staff member, Ms Shen, gave us a receipt and told us to collect our passports the next day.
The next day when we went to get our passports, the staff member took out our forms and our passports, and said, "Your passports cannot be processed because of technical problems."
I said, "What a joke! How could technical problems happen since the consular department processes passports every day? What is the technical problem?"
She didn't answer.
I said, "Is there any official document to show what the problem is? Can you show me?"
She said, "No."
I said, "So, in a single word, the Embassy can have us excluded from our own state and cancel our nationality." The staff member said, "You exaggerate too much."
I said, "It's not us who exaggerate too much; it's you. You understand that we won't have any nationality without valid passports. It's your job and responsibility to process the passports for Chinese citizens and it's not right if you don't do it. Let me talk to your boss." Then the staff member called her director, Ms. Yu Shu-fen.
I said, "We were born in China. We regard our country as our Motherland. We look for the motherland's protection. There must be some reason if the motherland does not want to protect us?"
Yu said, "The technical problem is just a technical problem."
I said, "Is there any official document from the State Department, or any instruction from the Foreign Ministry, or an order from Jiang Zemin to inform you not to extend our passports? If so, can you show us the document?"
Yu said, "No. We don't have to show you it, even if we have it."
I said, "This is your job. You should give us a satisfactory explanation."
Yu said, "It's just a technical problem and we can't process it."
I said, "What technical problem?! A technical problem is an artificial excuse. The real reason is that we are Falun Gong practitioners!"
Actually the technical problem did not exist at all. They had cut our photos to the correct size and glued them to the form we handed in. It shows that they checked the "black list" in the course of processing the passports, then stopped the procedure using the excuse of a "technical problem."
Yu responded quickly, very nervous, her hands and mouth trembling, "It is you who said that."
I said, "Please ask yourself, what is the reason?"
Yu didn't answer.
We then began to clarify the truth, saying that we practice Falun Gong in Switzerland, where Falun Gong is formally registered and has been granted permission from the Swiss government. We told her the facts; starting from the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, we told how Falun Gong teaches people to be good persons, and that practicing Falun Gong can improve people's health and lift people's moral standard. We also explained the facts about the Chinese government's praise of Falun Gong during the early years of its introduction, to Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong. We explained the truth about how many people in over sixty countries all over the world are practicing Falun Gong, the facts that Jiang Zemin has extended the persecution overseas, and how he and his followers have intentionally separated overseas Chinese into two groups: those who practice Falun Gong and those who don't. These actions are all to persecute one group and to spread hatred among overseas Chinese people. The situation with our passports is undoubtedly another new example of Jiang Zemin trying to split the overseas Chinese population.
Yu Shu-fen said at this time, "This is the Chinese Embassy. You're disturbing our work and I'm going to call the police."
I said, "Fine. Please do it! We are Chinese citizens. We ask you to extend our passports but you refuse to do so. You do not give us a reasonable explanation either. It's just right and proper for the police to hear about it."
Of course Yu Shu-fen clearly knew that justice was not on her side, so she didn't dare to call the police.
The Swiss census registry department could not understand the Embassy's conduct
During this period of time, we felt anxious because the passport problem was related to whether we could legally stay in Switzerland. We had to inform the related Swiss government department that we had lost our Chinese nationality because we practice Falun Gong. The Chinese Embassy refused to extend our passports due to some alleged "technical problems." The officials in the Swiss government could not understand this, and they said, "You are Chinese citizens, why does the Chinese Embassy refuse to extend your passports? Your belief is your choice and this is your freedom." I told them that the Chinese Embassy said it was just a technical problem and couldn't do it. They laughed, which made us feel embarrassed. Finally, they asked us to go back to the Chinese Embassy and ask for a document to explain why our passports could not be issued.
The Chinese Embassy regards this as interfering in Chinese internal affairs
On January 14, 2004, we went to the Chinese Embassy again. A man who sat behind the counter said that our questions could only be answered by Director Yu. I told Yu that the related Swiss government department needed a letter of proof from the Chinese Embassy regarding the failure of the extension of our passports.
Yu said, "This is interfering in Chinese internal affairs."
"Internal affairs" is an embodiment of the Chinese government's policy and law. It clearly implies that not extending passports for Falun Gong practitioners is a diplomatic policy set by the Chinese government, not a so-called technical problem.
We went back to see Yu Shu-fen once again. No matter what we said, she still refused to extend our passports, and said, "Technical problems are technical problems! See what you can do!"
I said, "Then please write a document saying that you could not issue the passports to us because of the technical problem, and sign your name on it."
Yu said, "Why should I sign my name?"
I asked Yu, "Do you know that if you do not extend our passports, we would lose the right of residence here, and you are therefore blocking our means of subsistence?"
Yu answered, "Yes, I know."
The word, "Yes," reflects the evil nature of the persecution towards overseas Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Embassies. It is an extension of Jiang's policy of "Destroying them physically, defaming their reputations, and bankrupting them financially." This policy is intended to persecute Chinese citizens who practice Falun Gong, making them become stateless refugees, unemployed, with no financial resources. This policy renders law-abiding Chinese citizens unable continue their studies nor visit relatives and friends in China; and when they do return to their own country they will be arrested and put into prison.
We pointed out the fact that for overseas Chinese to hold a Chinese passport is a most basic human right. The conduct of the Chinese Embassy in refusing to issue or extend Chinese passports is not only a violation of China's Constitution, but also a violation of international law, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Charter of the United Nations.
Yu Shu-fen said, "You can sue me whenever you want to."
Yet, I still said, "I regard you as my fellow citizen. Why should I sue you? I just want to sort out our passport problem."
After going back home I thought of her words. I felt that in order to protect overseas Chinese people's most basic human rights as well as to prevent this kind of unreasonable thing from happening again, I should at least reveal the facts to the United Nations; I should tell them that the Chinese Embassy has refused to issue and extend the passports of many overseas Chinese citizens.
The Swiss Labor Union appealed on our behalf
After our passports were refused, the labor union we belong to expressed its great sympathy and support for us. The person in charge of the labor union branch in the Capital city of Bern, wrote to the Chinese Embassy in person and sent a duplicate letter to the Swiss Foreign Ministry. Several Swiss friends also wrote to the Chinese Embassy and urged the Embassy to reconsider the refusal of our passports. Being Chinese citizens, we felt so much sorrow over the fact that we needed our non-Chinese friends to help us to obtain our basic right of holding a Chinese passport. How sad!
However, we deeply believe that our motherland, a country with several thousand years of cultural civilization, would not shut the door against her children who are far away from home and believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. Today's situation is only a temporary phenomenon, which is the result of the manipulation by this most evil person in our human world, a man who is narrow-minded and jealous. One day, when Jiang's name is inscribed on the Column of Shame, our motherland will once again open her warm heart and welcome back her children far away from home. At that time, we will embrace our beloved motherland.

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the Chinese state media, controlled by Jiang, have been complaining about the authorities in Tokyo approving the Japanese Falun Dafa Association's application to become a not-for-profit organization (NPO). The Chinese people are finally coming to learn that people outside of China are also practicing Falun Gong, and that Falun Gong is popular and legal in Japan.
The Falun Dafa Association states that its goal is "to improve the health of both mind and body and to cultivate a noble moral standard through promoting Qigong," and that it "will never involve any political gathering or religious activity."
Since Jiang started persecuting Falun Gong, the state-controlled media in China has been comparing Falun Gong to a deadly Japanese cult (Aum Shinrikyo) in order to demonize Falun Gong and incite the Chinese people's hatred against Falun Gong. It seems that Jiang believed that associating Falun Gong with the Japanese cult and labeling it with all kinds of evil names could enable him to commit genocide against Falun Gong without any considerations of truth, law, morality, or conscience.
Aum Shinrikyo did a lot of damage to Japan, and the Japanese won't forget the bloody lessons learned. Now, Tokyo's formal approval of the Japanese Falun Dafa Association's application for NPO status shows that the Japanese have a proper understanding of Falun Gong, and know that Falun Gong is beneficial to the people, society, and the nation. If Falun Gong were anything like what Jiang claims, how could the sensitive and careful Japanese government and people give the Falun Dafa Association their stamp of approval?
On July 29, 2002, in order to rescue Yoko Kaneko and bring her back to Japan (she had been illegally sentenced to one and a half year of forced labor in China), 21 Japanese Parliament members from four parties established the Multi-Party Coalition to Rescue Yoko Kaneko. As of November 2003, they had collected over a hundred and thirty thousand signatures supporting the rescue, and had received support letters from more than 270 Parliament members in the Japanese Congress and from different cities and towns. The Japanese government expressed on many different occasions that they wanted to rescue Yoko Kaneko and were putting forth their full effort. On the morning of November 23, 2003, Yoko Kaneko returned to Japan after her labor camp term was finished.
Because it is a high-level cultivation practice for promoting health and upgrading moral standards, Falun Gong is spreading rapidly in Japan and the Japanese people like it very much. Falun Gong is gradually becoming known to the mainstream of society. Recently, Falun Gong practitioners have held the following activities: On May 16, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners participated in the Kobe Festival in Kobe, Japan. On May 3, 2004, Japanese Falun Gong practitioners participated in and performed in the Hiroshima Flower Festival Parade for the third time. On June 27, 2004, practitioners held the first Falun Gong anti-torture exhibition in Tokyo. On July 18, 2004, Japanese practitioners had an anti-torture parade in Tokyo, and demanded that Jiang Zemin be brought to justice.
In the past, when other countries' governments and organizations condemned the Jiang group's persecution of Falun Gong and demanded that Jiang respect human rights, Jiang always replied angrily, "This is interfering with the internal policy of my country." Now, isn't it interfering with another country's internal policy when Jiang makes irresponsible remarks about Tokyo's approval of the Japanese Falun Dafa Association's NPO qualifications?
Dozens of countries all over the world have legally registered Falun Gong Societies or similar organizations. It would appear that Jiang would like to interfere with the internal policies of all these countries too. Could it possibly be that Japan and the rest of the world are not able to distinguish good from evil, and that only Jiang--who is reviled in his own country--has sufficient wisdom to do this?
(Clearwisdom.net) A fellow practitioner had given me some money for making Dafa truth-clarification materials. It was all in the form of coins counted out to be over one hundred yuan (1). This practitioner is a farmer who makes a living by selling vegetables.
Nowadays farming expenses are high and on top of that, crops are losing value and vegetables are cheap. Her income is therefore quite low. Meanwhile, her family is badly in need of money. She has three sons. The oldest one is married and the second oldest just got married. The youngest son is also at the age to get married. Her husband is a non-practitioner. Under these circumstances, she has saved every penny she could for a long time in order to save up enough to make truth clarification materials so that more people can know the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution.
There is a young married couple, both practitioners, who owe others over 10,000 yuan. Rain or shine, they would go to a mountain picking silkworm cocoons that others had missed. They worked many days doing this and earned 300 yuan, but did not spend one penny of it. Instead, they spent all of it on making truth-clarifying materials.
Most practitioners in rural areas live very simple lives so as to save their hard-earned money. For example, an article of clothing can last many years. Often they eat simple food and every penny of theirs is spent very carefully. In order to save sentient beings, they give all that they can for making truth-clarification materials.
Those are just two of many touching examples that I have shared, especially for those practitioners who have freely spent their money. I hope that in the future, when spending other practitioners' money for making truth-clarification materials, we can see the hard work put behind it and feel the trust other practitioners have put in us, and their compassionate hearts to save sentient beings. When spending money for other reasons, we should consider whether we still have attachments of vanity, of showing-off or laziness that could make us spend money unnecessarily.
Some individuals probably don't think it's a big deal. They think they are doing "big things," whereas those practitioners mentioned above are doing "minor things." This notion is actually very dangerous. If we search deeper, we will find that this is caused by a show-off mentality while ignoring Teacher's words and failing to realize the most basic thing as a practitioner: cultivation.
Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago conference:" "...So I think that for Dafa disciples clarifying the facts has become a unique way of cultivation for you cultivators today..." Each of us is still cultivating ourselves through doing the three things, namely, studying the Fa and doing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth. The only difference is that we are cultivating at different levels. Cultivation is to "...ignore superficial formalities and only look at one's heart" (from "Seeking Discipleship with Teacher" in Essentials for Further Advancement). There is no such thing as "big things" or "minor things." What is only required is a pure heart that meets the standard.
I am a young male practitioner and have many ordinary people's attachments. Although sometimes I do some Dafa work, filthy notions that have formed over thousands of years still surface, even the notion that makes me think, "What will happen to this place if I had not been here [clarifying the truth to people and saving them]." I know that these notions are not from the true me, so I then try to eliminate them. Teacher's compassionate smile often appears in my mind, bringing tears to my eyes. It's truly the magnificence of the Buddha's mercy! How lucky we are to have the predestined relationship with Teacher and to have become his disciples. Such a boundless universe contains so many numerous lives and only we have the capability to clarify the truth and save sentient beings. We all know that it is Teacher's great compassion that gives each of us the greatest honor and unprecedented opportunity. He also gives every life in the universe the opportunity to be saved. If you and I do not do what we are doing, lives can still be saved because Teacher is capable of doing anything and the Fa rectification will definitely succeed. Please remember Teacher's words, "...everything that's done in validating the Fa is done for yourselves-not a single thing is done for me..." (From Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa conference).
Of course, we cannot become attached to what Teacher will give us. As Dafa practitioners, we should do whatever we can to save sentient beings and cultivate ourselves into enlightened beings with great compassion.

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioners often talk about "the progress of the Fa-rectification." This shows that their main concern is the situation of Fa-rectification. There are various mentalities we all carry, including expectations, and the mentality of cherishing things. However, most practitioners want to know whether they or their area have kept up with the progress of Fa-rectification. During this progress, Teacher has made cultivation arrangements for us at each stage. However, coming with the arrangements are interference and sabotage arranged by the old forces. In each stage there are Fa-rectification things that we need to do well, standards we need to reach and mighty virtue that we need to establish. The progress of the Fa-rectification will not stop because one practitioner or a group of practitioners have not kept up, nor will it repeat because a group of practitioners did not do well. Therefore, every opportunity is precious and will not come again.
Although we can make up for and redo something that we have not done well at first, the environment and the requirement of the process of Fa-rectification will be different. Therefore, some practitioners saw that whenever they did not do well, lives and materials from the part of the celestial body they represented would be eliminated. Although this is only the scene these practitioners saw at their various levels and not the ultimate truth of the universe, at least it tells us how important it is for us to keep up with the process of Fa-rectification.
1. To understand the progress of the Fa-rectification is a precondition for keeping up with and doing a good job in what we are required to do.

My personal understanding is that we should study the Fa more. We must, first of all, read "Zhuan Falun" (1) repeatedly. We should also study Teacher's new articles, Fa lectures and comments on practitioners' published articles during the Fa-rectification period. Teacher made arrangements and set requirements for us in these documents. We must "truly believe" in Teacher and take the Fa as master. We must study more. We must read the Clearwisdom articles that provide guidance in a timely way, especially those written by the Clearwisdom editing team. Teacher has already told us that, "Practitioners must pay attention to the attitude of Clearwisdom.net on all important matters." My personal understanding is that the Clearwisdom articles that give guidance are part of Teacher's arrangements for us. However we should truly take the Fa as Master. This is only my personal understanding. As for personal sharing published on Dafa websites, including the scenes perceived by practitioners who have their third eye opened, my understanding is that it is not accidental that these articles are published on Dafa websites. If all practitioners can measure themselves according to the Fa, they really can find the things they have not paid attention to and the reason behind them. The sharing amongst practitioners is one of the cultivation forms left by our Teacher. It is also an indispensable environment for us to get rid of our notions, and push us to be more diligent and improve ourselves.
2. The things that need to be done well in the process of Fa-rectification.
On August 8, 2004, the Minghui.net editors (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net) made an announcement soliciting articles for the First Falun Dafa Written Experience Sharing Conference in China. The announcement states clearly the reasons for convening such a conference, the point of view from which practitioners in China should look at it , and the security issues that need to be taken care of. My personal understanding is that such a conference is a joyous event for all practitioners. It will be a grand conference in which practitioners can sum up their experiences while checking for their shortcomings so that they can upgrade themselves and keep up with the progress of the Fa-rectification. It is not important if one's article is selected or not. The important thing is that every practitioner should take this opportunity to sum up their progress in their cultivation, to report to Teacher and to share with their fellow practitioners. At the same time we can find some of the reasons for not doing well with the things that we should, so that we can wholeheartedly do the three things (2) that Teacher asked us to do. We should not consider the conference as the task of a small amount of practitioners or practitioners who are considered to be doing well in their cultivation. We should take the experience sharing conference as an important event in the Fa-rectification process. As a matter of fact, the process of experience sharing is the process of upgrading ourselves.
3. Taking the task of providing information for anti-torture exhibitions as our own responsibility
On August 12, 2004, Minghui.net published an article talking about the effects of frightening the evil and the results achieved by awakening the world's people through the anti-torture exhibitions run by overseas Falun Dafa practitioners. At the same time, most of the Dafa practitioners outside of China have not suffered from the persecution directly so they are not able to depict as vividly the persecution suffered by the practitioners in China. Therefore the overseas practitioners sincerely hope that more and more fellow practitioners in China can shoulder the responsibility of providing more information about the torture they have suffered, so as to stand side by side with the overseas practitioners and together expose the persecution and eliminate the evil. My personal understanding is that the anti-torture exhibitions have caused strong repercussions overseas while playing an effective role in frightening the evil and awakening the world's people. Through the demonstrations conducted by the practitioners outside of China, the exhibitions have displayed the great image of Dafa practitioners' faithfulness, unyieldingness, as well as their great mercy and tolerance in their striving to live by the characteristics of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance."
As the main body of Falun Dafa practitioners, the practitioners in China have personal experiences in suffering from the persecution so they have the responsibility to provide more detailed and more true-to-life information, especially their personal experiences of being tortured. Practitioners who suffered torture can draw or video-tape their own demonstration of the torture they suffered. They can also describe the torture in words to show the seriousness of a certain torture method. This will help the overseas practitioners stage more true-to-life anti-torture exhibits. It will also be a case of Dafa practitioners opposing the persecution while exposing and eliminating the evil as one body.
4. Using legal knowledge to oppose the persecution and clarifying the truth with everyday people, those in the legal system in particular.
At present there is more need to expose the human rights violations taking place in China. From the surface, it is a movement of everyday society; however, from the Fa perspective this situation does not exist by accident. No matter how the old forces arranged things and no matter what the goal of the Jiang group is, it has provided us with a very good opportunity to oppose the persecution and clarify the truth of Falun Dafa. In recent months, Minghui.net has published a series of articles on how to use legal knowledge to oppose the persecution and clarify the facts. It also published articles with detailed clauses exposing the Jiang group's violations of the law. In recent days, Minghui published a special edition of this issue on its home page. My personal understanding is that all Dafa practitioners in China have personally experienced the criminal acts violating the law by the evil clique, so to make use of this good opportunity, using this legal knowledge to fight against the persecution and clarify the truth, is an opportunity to establish our mighty virtue. It is also an opportunity for the families of Dafa practitioners and the world's people to see clearly who is violating the law so as to save the sentient beings, especially the ones in the legal system who suffer from the lies most. This will also create conditions for the unconditional release of those detained Falun Dafa practitioners and to push forward in the Fa-rectification process.
5. We should strengthen our efforts in sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth, take part in the battle between good and evil by eliminating the evil forces that have retreated to Beijing and New York.
Recently, Dafa websites have published articles depicting the scenes that some practitioners with supernormal abilities have witnessed in other dimensions. The battle between good and evil in the period of Fa-rectification is unfolding as the evil elements are retreating to two places: one is Beijing in China and the other is New York City (Manhattan) in the United States. At the moment, some practitioners in China are guessing about the manifestation of the battle between good and evil appearing in the human world, some are still waiting for further insights, some still take an attitude of wait-and-see, but the majority have thrown themselves into the battle. My personal understanding is that no matter how the battle manifests in the human world, the most urgent thing is to strengthen our effort in sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces.
6. Please help those fellow practitioners who still fail to step forward or those who have deviated from the righteous path.
This is the requirement set by our merciful Teacher in his lecture, "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference," on May 23. My personal understanding is that this is not only an opportunity provided by our merciful Teacher to the practitioners who have failed to step forward, those who have not done well and whose who deviated from the righteous path; it also provides opportunities for practitioners who have stepped forward and those who are doing well to further cultivate their steadfast righteous thoughts and profound mercy. Powerful righteous thoughts include righteous enlightenment, and the steadfast but unshakable belief of a cultivator as well as righteous belief toward Teacher and the firm belief in one's own abilities. As for the righteous enlightenment based on the Fa, this includes the principle that what we see is only on the surface level, and on another level, Teacher's law bodies and righteous Enlightened Beings are also participating. It also includes the principle of how to further establish mighty virtue in tribulations and who it is done for. If we fail to righteously enlighten to the Fa from the Fa we will have feelings of "hate," "fighting," "discouragement" and other mentalities that Dafa practitioners should not have in the process of helping other practitioners. Whenever tribulations appear we must look inside ourselves to see if we failed to eliminate the interference by the dark minions, or whether we truly tried to help fellow practitioners out of pure compassion and not with a mentality and concept of fulfilling a task or pursuing a result. Does this mean that we cannot distinguish between personal cultivation and Fa-rectification cultivation or between the two paths, one arranged by the old forces and the other by Teacher? As long as our thoughts are pure and righteous we should all be able to see our own shortcomings.

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner in Heilongjiang Province. I began practicing Falun Dafa in the fall of 1998. The wonder of Dafa had manifested itself to me many times during my cultivation. I experienced the power of Dafa again on June 12, 2004.
It was around 8:30 p.m. and I was riding my bike to work on the night shift. I was on the main road, when I suddenly lost consciousness. I didn't remember anything, or how long I was unconscious. When I slowly came to my senses, I faintly heard someone saying, "She's waking up! She's waking up!" I could not stop vomiting, and was unable to speak. I also sensed that I was in a car, and was being taken to a hospital.
In the hospital, after I was fully conscious, I asked the people around me what had happened. They said, "You were hit pretty hard by a car." I said to the driver, who was present, "Don't worry, I am a practitioner of Falun Dafa. I will not blackmail you for your money." I also asked to go home, but the driver wouldn't agree to that. Through my earnest request, he reluctantly agreed if the tests indicated that I was fine. The hospital did comprehensive testing, including a CT scan. All the tests and procedures indicated that everything was normal. They released me and I returned home.
The following day, the driver, who was still worried about me came to see me and inquired about whether I was taking my pain medication. I explained, "Don't worry, I don't take my life lightly. I have experienced the power of Falun Dafa many times before. If I experience any discomfort, I will naturally take the medication. If it wasn't for Teacher's kind protection, I would have died at the scene, in which case no amount of medication would have helped." The driver was very moved and said, "People who practice Falun Dafa are such good people. I did not know the powerful protection and healing effect of Falun Dafa. If it wasn't for this experience today, I would not have believed it. To be honest, I thought you were going to die. I reported the accident to the police and I was prepared to go to jail!"
On the third day, the driver came to see me again. He entered my house, and stared at me with a strange expression for a while and finally said, "Looking at the way you are today, there is no evidence that you were in a major car accident a few days ago. You recovered so quickly without any injections or medication! It's just unbelievable!" Falun Dafa is just magnificent! The driver felt bad about the situation, so he took out one thousand yuan (1) to give me as compensation. I politely declined his offer. I said to him, "I can go back to work now. There isn't a wound or scratch on me except a little swelling on my head. I am a practitioner who cultivates 'Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.' I am going to be just fine, so please don't worry."
The driver, in a very happy mood, drove his car to see me on the fourth day. He said that when he picked up his car from the Highway Patrol, he was surprised to see that it had significant body damage. According to his account of the accident, it was very dark and he had drunk some wine. The light of a freight truck, which was coming from the opposite direction, blinded him and he could not see the road ahead. That's when his car hit me, causing me to fly through the air. My head hit his windshield and broke it. I then fell onto the car's hood with such an impact that I broke it also; I then rolled off of the car onto the ground. He jokingly said, "You are fine, but my car is demolished!" The driver then told me that his brother-in-law was astounded after hearing the story. He was once a Falun Gong practitioner. Since Jiang's gang started persecuting Falun Dafa, he was deceived by the lies from the media, so he gave up the practice. Because of this story, he has started practicing again.
This is a true manifestation of the greatness of Falun Dafa. It is a shame that people have been cheated and deceived by this persecution. I hope the magnificent events that occur to Falun Dafa practitioners will serve as an inspiration to others, so people will understand the truth, treat Falun Dafa practitioners with kindness, and thus attain a good future for themselves.

Clarifying the Truth to Offer Salvation to Living Beings is Unconditional, and Seeking Any Form of Reward Should be Eliminated
Our clarifying the truth is to unconditionally offer salvation to living beings. We should not have any attachments of seeking rewards from those to be saved. Only this way can we have the purest and most compassionate hearts, with the sole intent of benefiting others. When people feel this compassion, it will be much easier for them to accept what we tell them. With regards to how people act after knowing the truth, that is their own business and we should not have any attachment to what they do.
Furthermore, it is very important to have the same pure and compassionate heart toward anyone, regardless of his or her income, social status, job, or attitude. Only in this way can we maintain a pure and righteous mindset.
Generally speaking, when the listeners don't show any special desire to further know the facts, it is enough that we have explained the facts from two aspects -- the goodness of Dafa and the persecution of Dafa. For non-cultivators, there always exists an issue of how much they can understand, so we should not talk too much or too profoundly. Some Western practitioners asked if it might be better to talk more about the goodness of Dafa. In fact, we must let people know the facts about the persecution of Dafa. Furthermore, talking about the persecution is the most effective way to move people and arouse their compassion. The evil beings become very scared when people learn the truth, since when the people know the truth, the evil beings that control these people are eliminated. Our truth clarification is for the purpose of offering salvation to people as well as massively eliminating evil beings in other dimensions.
Treat the Fatigue That We Experience During Our Truth Clarification with Righteous Minds
Practitioner A said, "In San Francisco, after I stood all day long, I did not feel tired, but in New York City, my feet and legs hurt, even after I stood for a short while. I then continually sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil beings. It is obvious that the evils are very scared when we clarify the truth, and thus attempt to hinder our efforts. So we cannot just simply take it as 'fatigue.' We should not let the arrangements of the old cosmic forces materialize."
Practitioner B said, "While handing out truth clarification materials, I try to send forth righteous thoughts continually to get rid of the evil beings that prevent New Yorkers from reading the truth clarification materials."
We Should Have Compassionate Expressions on Our Faces While Distributing Truth Clarification Materials
Practitioner C said, "Although we are very tired, we still should avoid absentmindedness while distributing truth clarification materials. We should try to look in people's eyes, signaling them to ask us for help. This way, we can easily awaken their enlightened sides. When we present flyers to passersby with smiles on our faces, saying 'Falun Dafa is Great,' and 'It's Good for You,' many of them will take the flyers."
Practitioner B said, "Sometimes I also added, 'Ancient Chinese Meditation,' and it was very effective."
If those practitioners who give out flyers can cooperate well with each other
and set up a schedule, taking turns to rest, they would definitely look
energetic! To prevent wasting valuable manpower and resources, the practitioners
who participate in anti-torture exhibits should also cooperate well with each
other and rotate the roles of handing out flyers, demonstrating the Falun Gong
exercises, and acting out the various kinds of cruel tortures, so as to make it
convenient for the practitioners who wear makeup (acting as victims) to use the
restroom, eat meals, or take care of other details.
This 77-year-old practitioner from New Jersey said, "When you look at them
with compassion, they will take the flyers." The anti-torture exhibit on the streets of Manhattan At an intersection, a young U.S. practitioner holds a display board high, to
tell people about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, A six-months-pregnant practitioner from New Zealand usually stands and walks
on the street for many hours handing out flyers. She sat down with her legs
crossed and rested her feet for only a short while when it was time to send
forth righteous thoughts.
Ask People to Pass Along the Flyers to their Friends and Families
Practitioner B said, "Many people smiled and said, 'I already know this. I have read the flyer you gave me yesterday. I support you!' I then responded, 'Thank you. Please share the information about Falun Gong with your friends.' They usually accepted another flyer to take to their friends."
Practitioner D said, "I clarified the truth very easily inside a taxi. The taxi driver happily accepted the flyers and agreed to help give the flyers to his customers. I often say to those who take my flyers, 'Please share it with your friends after you read it.'"
Make the Best Use of Time so as to Guarantee Time for Our Fa Study and Practicing the Exercises
Practitioner E said, "Initially, we went to practice the exercises in a nearby park from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. we went to the streets in Manhattan to clarify the truth. Later, we noticed the change of traffic flow on the street, that is, the living and working schedule of New Yorkers. They usually travel to work between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., so there are a lot of passers-by at subway station exits and road intersections. After that time, the number of passersby suddenly becomes less, until between the 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. lunch time, when the streets are again filled with people. The third peak time is between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., when New Yorkers go back home. We have adjusted our schedules based on the three peak times. In the early morning we go to the streets to welcome people who come to the city to work. Several practitioners in a group take turns distributing flyers, demonstrating the exercises, and holding the display boards or banners. When the number of passers-by lessens, we then take time to study the Fa.
There are More Opportunities on the Busy Streets
Practitioner B said, "At several of the busiest Wall Street intersections, and Times Square, there are many tourists. Large numbers of them wore Republican Party representatives' ID badges. These people were not as hurried as those who come to the city to work. It was easier for them to accept the flyers, particularly while waiting for the street lights to change. These intersections are very busy all day long. After dinner time, when it is nice and cool, and city lights shine everywhere, even more people come into the streets, which provides us very good opportunities to clarify the truth. Next time we should make even better use of these opportunities, especially by having the "three-person groups" cooperate well and take turns going to the local parks near those several busy streets to practice the exercises and clarify the truth."
Practitioner D said, "At other large subway station exits, such as the one on 72nd Street, a large number of people pass by between dinner time and 9:00 p.m. We should not 'withdraw the soldiers' too early to the hotels, lest we miss this opportunity. Additionally, I went to Starbucks coffee shops to clarify the truth to customers sitting around me. During the time of rest, while drinking coffee, it is easier for people to accept our flyers and talk to me."
Saving Time and Reducing Costs
Practitioner E: "Clarifying the truth in a meticulous way and in depth is a long-term effort. Next time we should prepare some food at home to take with us. First, it will take less time to eat, and allow us to fully utilize the precious lunchtime and dinnertime to clarify the truth. Second, it reduces costs. Purchasing weekly metro passes is another way to save money."
Practitioner B: "I need to get rid of my attachment of 'having to eat Chinese food.' One day, lunchtime was very tight. For lunch I had to buy two cheap hotdogs from a street vendor. In the evening I bought some cheap apples, cucumbers, and bananas as dinner. Actually, the day's nutrition was quite balanced."
Presenting a Good Image on the Streets of New York
Practitioner A: "It looks so appropriate when seeing Western practitioners wear a tie and distribute the latest English-language Dafa newspaper in a street. The people on the East Coast tend to pay more attention to their appearance than those on the West Coast. Perhaps we should avoid wearing clothing like blue jeans."
Practitioner F: "It seems not quite proper to hang a display board on one's neck. It is better to have another practitioner hold a display board or demonstrate the exercises alongside. If you are alone, just carry a backpack, which is very convenient for holding supplies and distributing handouts."
Practitioner C: "I prepared several sets of formal clothes, which are proper to wear when I distribute flyers in the street or go to visit a congressman. If we pay attention to what we wear, we will not be regarded as street persons, and will bridge the gap with those to whom we hand materials."
Practitioner B: "I feel that wearing a yellow T-shirt is suitable in situations such as group practice. I tend to agree what it was said in the article, "How to Clarify the Truth More Effectively in Manhattan," published on Minghui.net [Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net] on August 30, that in many situations or places it is not proper to wear a yellow T-shirt, which stands out and seems inappropriate."
Practitioner D: "Seeing some practitioners going out without wearing socks, I suggest for them not to do so. One more thing, particularly for Chinese - we should avoid calling to someone at a distance using a loud voice on the streets. Please, to talk, approach someone from closer up."
Clarifying the Truth to the Police
Practitioner B: "There are many police officers in New York. Since they are on duty, they may politely refuse a flyer if we just simply hand it to them. I would chat with them first, on topics such as how heavy their well-equipped uniform is, or thanking them for their hard work. Then they would be glad to accept the flyers. It is indeed hard for them to wear nearly 20 pounds of clothing and equipment."
Preparing Materials in Spanish and French
Practitioner D: "Next time we should prepare some materials in Spanish or French, making it more convenient for those who speak these languages. Many taxi drivers in New York speak Spanish or French, particularly if they come from Haiti. When riding in a taxi, I sometimes speak a few Spanish words with the driver and then introduce Dafa in English."
Preparing Simple, Short Answers

Answer: We come here to tell people about Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong in China. We seek righteous support from you. We believe that with each additional person who knows the truth, the sooner the persecution will be stopped.

The flyer is a group effort. If you think any of the text on it can be revised and made better, please point this out."
(Clearwisdom.net) I am a college student in Sydney. I am not a Falun Gong practitioner, but my mom is. In January of 2004, the Chinese Consulate in Sydney moved to a new location. My mom and several other Falun Gong practitioners rented a small shop on the opposite side of the street facing the newly relocated Chinese Consulate. They put up a banner that read "Falun Dafa Is Good" in the window facing the consulate. On a wall inside the shop, a poster saying "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" was hung up. The shop provides a place to rest for the practitioners who go to the Chinese Consulate to send forth righteous thoughts. The Chinese Consulate perceives the shop as a thorn in its side. From the very beginning, they tried their best to interfere with the practitioners. They first went to the police. The police said that they had no reason to stop the practitioners from renting the place. They then went to the real estate agency who built the building, who told them that they had sold the building. The people from the Chinese Consulate then went to the new owner of the shop, and even to the owner of the neighboring shop and asked them to not rent out the shop to the practitioners. However, the practitioners were able to rent the shop in the end. The practitioners got a copy machine for the shop. For people who need to photocopy documents for their visa applications at the consulate, the shop charges a reasonable price for the photocopying service.
The Chinese Consulate did not stop in its attempts to drive away the practitioners after they failed to keep them from renting the place. They harassed and threatened the practitioners by prying open the shop's doors and windows at night. Yet the practitioners remained unaffected. They would open the door at night when they heard a suspicious sound, and the perpetrators would become scared and run away. A male practitioner installed a safety bolt on the door of the shop.
People from the consulate used various means to threaten the practitioners. One time, practitioners put up some pictures of torture scenes to expose the persecution taking place in China. A few hours later, when a practitioner opened the door, he/she saw a brand new doll that had a "Made in China" label on it. The doll would move back and forth after being touched. The perpetrators used the doll to threaten the practitioners, making them suspect that it was a time-bomb.
Last week, a new official in charge of Falun Gong issues came to take a position in the consulate. The new official immediately started to take pictures of the shop and the practitioners while they sent forth righteous thoughts. My mom has been staying at the shop at night since the practitioners rented the shop. Two days ago, because she had some family affairs to take care of, she did not stay at the shop for the night. The next morning, when she arrived at the shop, she found that the door had been pried open and the digital lock removed. The perpetrators had taken away a computer that was in the shop, but left the cash, fax machine, and camera. It was clear that the perpetrators were there just for the computer, probably to get information from it.
An official at the Chinese Consulate--a consulate that represents a country of over a billion people--has apparently committed burglary in order to please his supervisors and have a chance to be promoted.
(Clearwisdom.net) According to the Epoch Times, U.S. State Department Consular Affairs spokesperson Kelly Shannon said in an interview that on August 19, a consulate official in Shanghai visited U.S. citizen Charles Li in a Nanjing prison.
Ms. Shannon said that Charles Li appeared healthy and talked with the consulate official about appealing the ruling of a Yangzhou Court. Charles Li had not yet selected a lawyer to help in his appeal.

Unjust Ruling of Yangzhou Court
On March 23, 2003, a Yangzhou Court sentenced Charles Li to three years of imprisonment and deportation based on speculation that accused him of "damaging national TV and broadcasting facilities." Charles Li refused to accept the ruling and appealed on March 31, 2003, but his appeal was rejected on May 5 and he has been confined in Nanjing Prison since then.
A friend of Charles Li in the U.S. said, "Since Jiang's regime initiated the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in 1999, the regime has violated the Chinese Constitution and has never followed the law when dealing with Falun Gong practitioners, including Charles Li."
The friend said, "Jiang Zemin ordered his '610 Office' and followers throughout the country to implement the policy that, 'No one will be held responsible if Falun Gong practitioners are beaten to death, just count them as suicide; No investigation is needed, just have them cremated.' No lawful procedures are followed. In China, Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured appeal to courts, but the courts do not process the appeal, and those culprits [who are] killing, beating, raping and robbing Falun Gong practitioners are not punished, but [instead are] rewarded."
Charles Li's friend continued, "Like the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident, the Yangzhou Court designated a so-called 'defense attorney' for the benefit of the U.S. consulate official during the trial on March 23, 2003. It is easy to imagine what kind of defense was mounted, because the law has never been followed in dealing with Falun Gong practitioners in China."

1. The "three things" refers to studying the Fa (Law and principles, the teachings of Falun Dafa), sending forth righteous thoughts, and clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution to the world's people.
(Clearwisdom.net) The famous annual Wagner Festival was held in Bayreuth, Wagner's hometown. It was the 93rd anniversary of the Wagner Festival sponsored by the German Government, and the performers and audience were from various countries around the world.
Though the city government insisted that no groups would be allowed to hold any activities during the Wagner Festival this year, the relevant government agencies' position was altered after Falun Dafa practitioners told them the facts about the genocide that is happening in China. The city government changed their mind and allowed Falun Gong to hold activities. After getting special permission from the city government, local practitioners held three activities to introduce Falun Dafa and expose the persecution. What's more, the city government's Department of Finance ended up waiving the venue rental fee altogether.
Practitioners displayed eighty pictures about Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. After hearing that Falun Gong has been oppressed for five years, and that practitioners were planning to hold a photo exhibition, a wooden furniture manufacturer provided more than one hundred frames and stands free of charge.

After looking at the pictures of the torture, some people said, "Why don't you display these pictures at the entrance to the Opera Festival? Many people are very angry about the human right abuse and the abuse of the freedom of belief. It is beyond our imagination that this kind of thing is still happening nowadays." As soon as they learned that Jiang's regime hired gunmen to shoot at practitioners in South Africa and other atrocities, people signed the petition in support of Falun Dafa.
During the festival, the practitioners distributed around 4,000 flyers about the South Africa shooting incident, to visitors from various countries. A lot of people said that they knew about what happened in South Africa when they signed our petition.
Some people from former Communist countries said, "We know dictators very well. That's the way they work, just like that."
An elderly person who used to practise Yoga said of our display and exercise demonstration: "It's been a long time since I felt such a strong energy current; I have decided to practice Falun Gong from now on."

On September 10, as he was going to an apartment building in Manhattan, he saw several Falun Gong practitioners dressed in yellow T-shirts. He greeted the practitioners and expressed his support for Falun Gong. He said that the persecution would definitely be stopped because evil would never prevail over goodness and the evildoers would definitely receive retribution.

When Stanley saw Falun Gong practitioners dressed in yellow T-shirts, he called out, "Falun Gong!" He said that he was aware of the brutal persecution encountered by Falun Gong in China. He said that the authorities do not even leave women and children alone. He knew that Jiang Zemin single-handedly initiated this persecution. He believed that Jiang is a malicious person who will definitely receive retribution for his evildoing.
Stanley also told practitioners that what they have been doing is great. He said that people could see Falun Gong practitioners in many places in Manhattan and many people in Manhattan have learned about Falun Gong. He said that people were all talking about Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners.
Then Stanley introduced himself. He is a musician and plays jazz in Manhattan. He came from Nigeria, Africa. He said that his country was once an autocratic country, where there was no freedom of belief. Because of that, he himself had been imprisoned for one year. In prison, he was tortured and the scars can still be seen on his back.
Stanley believes that everyone should enjoy the freedom of believing in God or having other religious beliefs. It is unreasonable that people are imprisoned and even tortured simply because of their belief. When saying "goodbye" to practitioners, Stanley said: "On the other hand, the evil will never prevail over the good. The persecution will definitely be stopped and those evildoers will definitely receive retribution."
Stanley expressed that he would like to introduce Falun Gong and the persecution it is suffering during each of his performances, so as to allow more people to learn about Falun Gong and to support Falun Gong. He said that he would also tell businesspeople not to invest in China as long as the persecution continues.
Since August of this year, on many streets and avenues in Manhattan, one can often see Falun Gong practitioners dressed in yellow T-shirts. Some demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises, some talk with passers-by to introduce Falun Gong and expose the persecution, and some distribute truth-clarifying materials. In high-traffic areas, people can also view poster exhibitions and anti-torture demonstrations -- reenactments of the torture methods being used against Falun Gong practitioners in China. Numerous passers-by often stop to watch and find out more information. More and more New Yorkers are becoming aware of the facts about Falun Gong.
(Clearwisdom.net) On September 9, 2004, the Falun Gong Club of Simon Fraser University participated in the opening ceremony to celebrate the establishment of the new student dormitory. Falun Gong practitioners' waist drum and dance performances were arranged to open the event. Their performances won warm applause. The master of ceremonies loudly said to the audience through the microphone, "That was fantastic! Everyone is welcome to join the Falun Gong Club!"

Afterwards, practitioners held a group exercise practice and distributed leaflets to introduce Falun Gong and expose the persecution taking place in China. Many students signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. A gentleman from Mainland China carefully watched the practitioners' exercise demonstration and read the truth-clarifying leaflet. He said, "You are very peaceful and normal. We were all deceived by the Jiang regime's deceitful propaganda. It is just too terrible! I will tell all my friends and family members that you are very normal and very kind."
This gentleman, who had learned about the facts of Falun Gong and the persecution, did not want to leave. In the end, he was hesitant to leave even when the practitioners were finished and were leaving.
(Clearwisdom.net) Last week, the city of Lerum, which is a community very close to Gothenburg and the second largest city in Sweden, had a week dedicated to a healthier and happier Lerum. Throughout the week there were activities to promote physical and mental wellbeing.
On the 1st of September, Falun Gong practitioners were invited by the city of Lerum, in cooperation with the Adult Educational Association of Lerum, to take part in a lecture to display the exercises and inform the public about Falun Gong. Everybody who was on the way to or from the lecture had the opportunity to watch a demonstration of Falun Gong's five beautiful and harmonious exercises that improve the body and the mind, and take part in our information sessions. We distributed a flyer that informed people about where they could learn Falun Gong in Lerum.
During the evening we distributed a lot of information. There were 350 people attending the lecture and therefore many passers-by had the opportunity to watch and learn about Falun Gong. We received a very positive response from the public.

(Clearwisdom.net) In mid-June of this year, a fellow Falun Dafa practitioner learned that her son-in-law's grandmother was in critical condition, so she went to visit her. The grandmother suffered from problems with her heart and lungs, as well as tuberculosis. She had a running fever, could not get out of bed, could only take in liquids, and had lost a great deal of weight. The doctors told her family that there was no hope for her. The practitioner told the elderly woman to remember, "Falun Dafa is good." The old lady agreed. Later, the practitioner learned that the grandmother's health had improved.
At end of July, when the fellow practitioner's daughter (also a practitioner) came home, they decided to help the grandmother and her family members know the truth about Dafa. The practitioner and her daughter brought a DVD player, some DVDs with information about Falun Gong, and other materials with them when they went to visit the grandmother again. The grandmother looked much better than last time. She told them happily that she had followed the suggestion and recited "Falun Dafa is good" for a month. She said, "I don't understand how it worked, but I know it works. Don't worry about me." The grandmother told them that several days ago she went to the hospital. The doctors were very surprised at how healthy she was and thought that her recovery was miraculous. She is now able to eat rice and vegetables and walk outside, and she is very happy.
This fellow practitioner wanted to play the truth-clarifying DVDs for the family, but because it was the busy season for farmers, they would only have time to watch them when it rained. The next day it rained, so about a dozen of the grandmother's family members watched the DVDs together. They were all shocked and said, "It is great that we watched these DVDs. We had no idea what Falun Gong was." They had believed the propaganda on TV and thought Falun Gong was terrible. Now they understood that it was all lies and slander that Jiang Zemin had concocted in order to justify the persecution.
After the family members witnessed their grandmother's recovery, they have come to believe that Falun Dafa is good. They've requested Dafa books and want to learn the exercises. Several of them have begun to practice Falun Gong.
A Miracle Happened When I Read Zhuan Falun (1)
Ever since I was a child, my feet were always icy cold, and they were especially painful during the winter. Recently I borrowed a copy of Zhuan Falun from a co-worker. I read the book within a day and felt a stream of warm energy moving in my feet.
A chronic condition that bothered me for more than 40 years was cured within one day by reading Zhuan Falun--it is truly a miracle. I would have never believed it if it had not happened to me.
Later I watched the videotapes of Master Li's lectures, which explained many truths and answered lots of my questions. I understood the true meaning of life and personally experienced Master Li purifying my body. Again I experienced the miracle of Dafa. I used to suffer from insomnia, migraines, and sensitivity to cold for many years, and now they have all disappeared.
I have started my path of cultivation, and I am determined to study the Fa (2) well and assimilate into Dafa.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cao Xiangfen Tortured to a State of Mental Collapse in Shizishan Drug Rehabilitation Center in Wuhan
Falun Gong student Ms. Cao Xiangfen was an employee at the Daye City Department Store. The Daye police had taken her to the detention center numerous times as she persevered in practicing Falun Dafa. Around 2000, Ms. Cao was taken to the Shizishan Drug Rehabilitation Center in Wuhan City, Hubei Province for one year of forced labor. The guards did everything they could to abuse her. She suffered a mental collapse while serving the unlawful forced labor term. Her whereabouts are unknown at present.
2. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] The Situation of Pan Xueshu and Li Baojie from Jinzhou Area after Their Arrest
On August 22, Falun Dafa practitioner Pan Xueshu was sent to the Benxi Forced Labor Camp. Pan has been on hunger strike ever since. Pan was claimed by the police to have suffered from tuberculosis and has been receiving infusions every day.
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Baojie has also been on hunger strike since August 20 when she was taken to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The police denied visits by her family and claimed that she was on infusions and was consuming five bottles of medicine every day.
3. [Chongqing] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Su Dafen from Beipei District Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Su Dafen, 66, is a Falun Dafa practitioner in the Beipei District of Chongqing. On July 9, 2004, the Beipei District Court unlawfully detained Ms. Su under the excuse of gathering information. On July 16, she was secretly sentenced to three and a half years in prison by this court. Ms. Su appealed her case and on August 10, 2004, she was forcibly taken to the Yongchuan Women's Prison. She was denied admission by the prison authorities as she was diagnosed to be suffering from severe tuberculosis in the physical examination upon her arrival at the prison. The police had to take her back and held her in custody at the Beipei District Detention Center.
4. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Taoshan Branch Police Department Arrests Five More Falun Dafa Practitioners
The Taoshan Branch Police Department in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province has been arresting Falun Dafa practitioners recently. In the period from August 18 through August 23 alone, five Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested, including Yin Ping, Yang Yuming, a practitioner surnamed Guo and others. Two other practitioners have been forced to leave town in order to avoid being arrested. The practitioners arrested have been deprived of sleep and interrogated day and night.

On the morning of June 12, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Fuzhen, Ms. Chen Daolan and Ms. He Yunxiu from Liyang Town in Lifeng County, Hunan Province went close to Cennan Township to distribute leaflets to raise public awareness about Falun Gong. Plainclothes policemen followed the three practitioners. When the practitioners went back to the Chengguan Dispatching and Packaging Factory to clarify the truth, the State Security Unit placed them under arrest. At present, the three practitioners are being held in a detention center for interrogation and torture.
6. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Li Donghong and Liu Hua from Haoji Town Are Arrested
Around noon on August 25, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Donghong and Liu Hua went to Liuji Township in Dong'e to distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying leaflets. Informants not aware of the truth of Falun Dafa alerted the police, and the two practitioners were taken to the Liuji Township Police Station in Dong'e.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Tangshan Police Arrest Numerous Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Month of July
On July 1, 2004, officers from the Lunan Branch Police Department and Zhaozhuang Police Station in the Lunan District of Tangshan City demanded the cooperation by the Shuangxinlou Residential Committee and broke into Falun Gong student Ms. Cao Yurong's home at Room 402, Unit 1 of No. 106 Shuangxinlou. Ms. Cao's husband tried to find out why they had burst in, but was held down by three policemen on the bed. Several other officers forcibly took Ms. Cao from the fourth floor all the way down to the police vehicle. Ms. Cao was transferred in the afternoon to the No. 1 Detention Center from the Zhaozhuang Police Station. Further details are not available.
On July 1, 2004, officers from the Lubei Branch Police Department and the Dali Road Police Station in Lubei District broke into the home of an engineering student, Falun Gong practitioner Wang, who was living in Room 502, Unit 4 of No. 116 Tielulou. The police ransacked the place and took Falun Gong student Hu, as well as the elderly Mr. Zheng and Zheng's wife to the Dali Road Police Station. The practitioners were later transferred to the No. 1 Detention Center. Further details are not available.
8. [Inner Mongolia] Facts of Dai Guochen Being Tortured by Manzhouli Police
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Dai Guochen was detained for over a year by the Manzhouli City Police Department in Inner Mongolia starting in early November 2002. He became ill in prison but was not released until the police extorted 20,000 yuan in cash from him. All the valuable items at his home had been taken into possession by the police.
On August 19, 2004, members of the city's State Security Unit broke into Mr. Dai's home and told him that he was needed for a talk at the police department. Then Mr. Dai either jumped or was pushed out of the second floor window. He is presently in the No. 2 Zhaqu Hospital. The police have sent guards to watch him around the clock and no information is to be released to the outside.
9. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Falun Dafa Student Ms. Shu Bilan Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Shu Bilan, in her fifties, is a retired employee of Changsha City Postal and Telecommunications Bureau. She was sent to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Hunan Province, where her forced labor term was extended. After being released, Ms. Shu was actively involved in raising public awareness about the truth of Falun Gong. On August 5, 2004, other practitioners lost contact with her. There are reports that she has been abducted and taken to the Laodaohe Brainwashing Unit in Changsha City, Hunan Province.
10. [Non'an County, Jilin Province] Police Sabotage a Production Site for Falun Gong Truth-clarification Materials and Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhou Yongping
On August 23, 2004, police sabotaged a production site for Falun Gong materials in Non'an County, Jilin Province. Falun Dafa practitioner Zhou Yongping was arrested.
11. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Chen Xiu Arrested
On the morning of August 23, 2004, a total of twenty or so people from the Xiaguo Police Station in Huazhou City and from the "610 Office" led by Dong, Head of the police station, abducted Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Chen Xiu and took her to a brainwashing unit in Maoming.
A few days earlier, several members of the "610 Office" arrived at the store run by Ms. Chen and attempted to take her away. Ms. Chen told the people around her about the unlawful treatment she had received over the past five years of persecution. She had been detained and fined many times for practicing Falun Dafa. The crowd came to know the truth and condemned the police officers from the "610 Office" and prevented them from taking Ms. Chen away.
12. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Fenglong from Fangshan District Arrested Again
In March 2004 the Fangshan Branch Police Department arrested Mr. Wang Fenglong, a Falun Dafa practitioner from the Fangshan District of Beijing, from his home and held him in custody for over a month. On August 17, 2004, the Fangshan police deceived Mr. Wang and arrested him again.

Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

People's Hearts Determine Their Future
There is a forty-five-year-old woman in Huolinguole City, Inner Mongolia, who frequently had stomachaches and her gallbladder and her bile duct developed stones. Taking medicine was ineffective. Moreover, the more medicine she took, the more her appetite declined. When this woman was preparing to go for surgery, a Dafa practitioner taught her to say aloud "Falun Dafa is good." Every day, besides saying aloud "Falun Dafa is good," she just read Zhuan Falun (1) with a peaceful mind. Her stomach began to hurt less, and she could eat more food. When this woman went to the hospital for a check-up, all the gallstones had vanished!
Facts of the Persecution
Ms. Ma Yongan from Xiantao City, Hubei Province suffered from relentless persecution. Ms Ma is 56 years old now. Just because she practiced Falun Gong, she was imprisoned seven times and was tortured to extreme distress. On October 3, 2001, the head of the "610 Office" in Xiantao City, He Guohua, dragged Ms. Ma downstairs to do military training. Because her body was so weak that she could not run, they forced her to walk along the drill ground. The vicious guard, Hong Gang, wearing a pair of leather shoes, kicked her in the right side of her ribs. Ms. Ma's whole body was kicked in the air and flung to the ground. They still hauled Ms. Ma halfway around a basketball court. Finally, she was dragged to a room where she was soaked with water.
The facts of the persecution that Mr. Shao Changpu from Fuyu County, Jilin Province, suffered: On May 4, 2004, police officers Guo Yiping, Li Mingzhou and Zhang Mingcai forced criminals to commit perjury to bring a false charge against Mr. Shao. Claiming articles written by Teacher were found under his bed, they kicked and beat Mr. Shao until his entire face was misshapen. Then Mr. Shao was locked up in a small cell for nine days. Mr. Shao wrote five letters to report to the authorities in detail, accusing these three wicked police officers of intimidating the criminals to commit perjury, using violence, extortion of confession by torture, illegal imprisonment and other illegal acts. On May 30, 2004, Mr. Shao was sent to the "strict management" production brigade that was specially set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Every day, Mr. Shao suffered from some form of corporal punishment.
The persecution experience of Dafa practitioner Zhang Shuwei from Jincheng Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province: On December 30, 2000, I exercised my legal right to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Along the road, I was abducted twice by the police and beaten, but I still made it to Beijing. At Tiananmen Square, I unfolded a Dafa banner, then was arrested. When the Shuangcheng police tried to extort 1,200 yuan (2) from my family members, they did not succeed. They sent me to the Shuangcheng Municipal Second Lockup. Several days later, I was sentenced to forced labor for one year and sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp. Chief Lin asked the collaborators (former practitioners who have turned against Dafa under brainwashing and torture) to be personal "instructors" (meaning to bombard me with their deviated reasoning) and personal "helpers" to me. I was deceived by their hypocritical, deceitful tricks. I now solemnly declare that everything I did at the labor camp that does not conform to Dafa is invalid.
The persecution experience of Dafa practitioner Ms Zhang Xiucun from Langfang, Hebei Province: At the end of October 2002, Ms Zhang found a purse on the road, but she did not pocket the money she picked up. However, when she turned in the purse to the police, she became subjected to persecution. She was sent to the "610 Office" brainwashing class in Anci District and was tortured for seventeen days. Her husband was also illegally detained in the local police station. Under the authorities' relentless intimidation, he became mentally disoriented. On May 26, 2004, Ms. Zhang was again arrested. She was persecuted to the point of being extremely weak. The persecutors feared to take the responsibility in the event that she would die, so they sent her back home. On July 23, Yang Baoyin brought people to abduct Ms. Zhang from her mother's home and sent her to Tangshan Forced Labor Camp for one year.
The secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee in Huanren County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province, Sheng Xueying, closely followed Jiang's regime to persecute Dafa practitioners in Huanren County. He was in charge of arresting Dafa practitioners, confiscating their property, sending them to the detention center and brainwashing classes, and sentencing them to forced labor or prison terms. The vice-secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee, Wang Xuancai was the assistant to Sheng Xueying and a key figure in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. Xu Yanbo, Vice-secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee, was also active in persecuting Dafa practitioners. Since the first brainwashing class until now, he has mainly been in charge of all brainwashing classes. Wang Lixian, the County Public Security Bureau chief and Sheng Xueying are the prime culprits in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Hua from Xijiao Town, Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province suffered from many diseases and was confined to bed for a long time before she began practicing Falun Dafa. After she started to cultivate and practice Dafa, she was free from sickness and pain. She truly felt from her innermost being that Falun Dafa and Teacher had given her a new life. After the persecution began, on December 29, 2000, Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. Later on, Tang Youzhi, chief of the local Xijiao Police Station, beat her savagely. As a result, her whole body was black and blue. From January 4, 2002 to March, the authorities tried to abduct Ms. Liu twice, but they failed, so instead they took her husband Mr. Zhang Xingfa to the township government office to be persecuted. They beat and kicked him and hit his ears and head. On the evening of May 21, 2004, Wang Liwei, Zhang Hongjian and others came to Ms. Liu's home and attempted to abduct her. Ms. Liu fled, all the while sending righteous thoughts. Her husband, Mr. Zhang, was illegally detained for fifteen days and finally released.
