The Persecution Cases of You Junmei and Fellow Practitioners from Zibo City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Around 5 a.m. on February 17, 2004, the local "610 Office" leader, Song Yuling of Wangcun Town in the Wangcun District of Zibo City, Shandong Province, led a few local police officers to break down the doors of practitioner You Junmei's home in Xipu Village. Mr. You's wife, amid the chaos, didn't have time to get dressed properly or put her shoes on. The officials said that they wanted to see You Junmei. His wife told them he was not home. In fact, You Junmei was keeping watch at a relative's car repair shop. Song Yuling threatened Mr. You's wife, saying that if she didn't cooperate they would arrest her. He assured her that all she had to do was tell them where You Junmei was and that they were not going to arrest him. She believed their lies and took them to the repair shop. As soon as they arrived, before You Junmei had a chance to figure out what was happening or to get fully dressed, the police dragged him to their car and sent him to the brainwashing class in Zhangdian, Zibo City, without following any legal procedures.

In July of 2000, Li Jiayu, the Party Committee secretary of Wangcun Town, along with Wang Yanzhi and Wang Jiasheng from the town government, arrested You Junmei. They tried to force him to curse the founder of Falun Gong. When You Junemi refused, Wang Jiasheng knocked You Junmei out with one punch. When You Junmei regained consciousness they tried again to force him to curse Master Li. You Junmei refused again, and Wang Jiasheng and Wang Yanzhi took turns beating him for two hours straight.

Everyone knows that You Junmei is a kind person. He grows vegetable in his backyard and has never committed any crimes. The reason the government arrested him was because he practices Falun Gong.

Mr. You's wife questioned the staff in the police station regarding the nature of You Junmei's arrest. The officers evaded her questions and said it was because they had to work with the town government.

Meng Yinghua of Wanjia Village suffered from various illnesses before practicing Falun Gong. She couldn't go to work for six months. Since she has been practicing Falun Gong, all her sicknesses have disappeared and she was able to return to work. The family was happy once again. In October 2003, the same "610 Office," led by Song Yuling with police assisting, unconstitutionally arrested Meng Yinghua as she was going to work, and detained her in the "610 Office" brainwashing class in Zibo City for a month. They tried to force her to give up practicing "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" and to curse Falun Gong and its founder. Meng Yinghua suffered both physically and mentally. All that month, her three-year-old son cried for his mother. Her husband couldn't focus on his work, and her parents and grandparents were worried and frightened.

In April that same year, Song Yuling went to Wanjia Village with several police officers. They forcefully arrested Meng Xiulan and sent him to the "610 Office" brainwashing class in Zibo City. Song Yuling also led the police to Liu Fude's house in Wancun, where they illegally ransacked his house and confiscated his copy of Zhuan Falun along with other Dafa books.

Zhuang Shijun, from the Fangzhengchaochang Institute for Higher Learning in the Linzi District was illegally sentenced to the Zibo Labor Camp. On the afternoon of February 21, 2004, he was working in the workshop when he put both of his hands in his lap. Officer Zhang Benyi told him to place his hands on his knees. When Zhuang Shijun refused, they took him away. When they returned half and hour later, Zhuang Shijun was dragging his feet, his face and eyes were covered with bruises and were bloody, his nose was black and purple, and his clothes were covered with dirt and shoe prints.

Mr. Huang Futang is a 52-year-old railroad engineer from Zibo City. The police locked him up in the Zibo Labor Camp because he practices Falun Gong. In February 8, 2003, because Mr. Huang is steadfast in his practice, the police put handcuffs on him and took him to the office. A dozen police officers, including Li Chengfeng, Zhang Benyi, Guo Liqun, Xie Zhichao, Cui Pengzhou, Yu Guo, Zhang Zhaogui, Yin Chengmin, Chen Like, and two others with the last names of Bi and Guo, immediately started beating him. They locked him up in an isolation room after the beating. The police in the isolation room beat him as soon as he got there. Then they stripped him, tied his hands and feet, and placed him on a bed. They tortured him for an hour by beating and shocking him with seven or eight electric batons. They tortured him this way every day for 16 days. It was extremely brutal. The electric baton's high voltage felt like a thousand vipers biting his body. The intense pain made one wish for death. This brutal treatment left his body covered with red and purple scars. Due to prolonged electrical contact, some of his skin blistered and peeled off. One could see the muscle and blood. His torso was numb and painful. He couldn't move his arms normally. His fingers contracted and couldn't be straightened. His ears felt burnt and seemed to ring, and he couldn't hear normally. Mr. Huang still has the scars on his body to this day.

Mr. Zhangying is about 30 years old. He is from Licun in Lizhen Village, Zichuan Village, Zibo City. He was detained in the Zibo City Labor Camp. On March 8, 2003, he wasn't feeling well so he started doing the Falun Gong exercises. A police officer saw him and put him in confinement. In the confinement cell, the police used an electric baton on him numerous times. The brutal tortures damaged him physically and mentally. When he came back from being confined he was absentminded and would stare into space. He was constantly fearful. The horrifying atmosphere of the labor camp and the brutal tortures broke his spirit, and Zhangying suffered a mental collapse.
