Additional Information about the Torture and Death of Dafa Practitioner Mr. Wei Xinhua from Gansu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wei Xinhua, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Wuwei City, Gansu Province, was extremely thin and in a life-threatening condition as a result of the torture he experienced at Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou City. At the end of March 2004 he was transferred to the No. 3 Prison of Liangzhou District in Wuwei City. On April 18, Wei Xinhua passed away (this has been reported by Clearwisdom.net previously, http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2004/5/10/47899.html).

Mr. Wei Xinhua, aged 66, was a retired employee of the Commodity Bureau of Wuwei City. He lived in Apt. 24 at Zijue Lane on Western Street in Wuwei City. On February 2, 2000, Wei Xinhua went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and he was illegally detained for 15 days by the Public Security Bureau of Wuwei City. In July of the same year, he was abducted by the police from his home and sent to the Wuwei City Detention Center. His home was ransacked and he was fined several thousands of yuan (1). Mr. Wei was released after two months.

On January 15, 2001, he was abducted again and taken to the Wuwei City Drug Rehabilitation Center by the "610 Office" head in Wuwei City, Chen Fenggang, with Wang Lianping, someone with the surname of Shi, a deputy team leader with the surname of Wang and several police officers. At the Drug Rehabilitation Center the director, Chen Zhengya and other police officers brutally tortured Wei Xinhua by depriving him of sleep for extended periods, not allowing him to talk and physically and verbally abusing him. Every day he was provided only two bowls of rotten vegetable soup and two black moldy buns. On April 8, 2001, after two months of incarceration, Wei Xinhua was sent to Pingantai Labor Camp in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province without any trial. In the labor camp he suffered cruel torture and three of his ribs were broken. When Mr. Wei became extremely thin and couldn't care for himself, the police let his family take him home.

After returning home, Wei Xinhua persisted in studying the Fa (2) and doing the Falun Gong exercises. He recovered quickly. Afterwards, he upheld Dafa with a clear and rational mind. He firmly and truly practiced cultivation, and clarified the truth by distributing flyers and posting Dafa banners. On the night of March 11, 2003 when he went out to post Dafa truth-clarification materials, he was abducted by the "610 Office" and police from the Jinyang Police Station. Despite abuses and persecution by the police, he still told them the facts about Dafa with compassion. At 8:00 a.m. on March 12, Wei Xinhua was sent to the Wuwei Labor Camp. He shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" all the way there. On October 24, 2003, Mr. Wei was secretly sentenced to 6 years in prison by the Liangzhou District Court in Wuwei City. At the same time, the following practitioners were also sentenced illegally: Wei Xinhua's wife Gu Yuzhen, 6 years; Ms. Han Xiuzhen, 4 years; Ms. Lu Guiying, 3 years.

In December 2003, Wei Xinhua was sent to the Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou City. In Dashaping Prison, the guards tortured him with various measures including hanging him up, beatings, injections with unknown drugs, and sleep deprivation. He became extremely thin from the torture. At the end of 2004 Mr. Wei was transferred to the No. 3 Prison in Wuwei City, where he couldn't eat anything for over twenty days. On April 12, he was sent to Liangzhou Hospital for an examination and the doctor said that his internal organs were severely damaged. On April 16, the officials from the prison were reluctant to spend too much money on his health care and so Mr. Wei was sent back to the No. 3 Prison. On April 17, 2004, at 6:30 p.m., the prison let his family take him home to die. Wei Xinhua passed away 24 hours later on April 18.

At present, many Dafa practitioners are still detained at the Dashaping Prison in Lanzhou City. They are suffering cruel persecution every day. We call on all people throughout the word to please pay attention to these atrocities!
