Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province Compels Falun Gong Practitioners to Work as Slave Laborers
By a Falun Gong Practitioner in Hubei Province
(Clearwisdom.net) The Male Discipline Team of Shayang Forced Labor Camp
in Hubei Province specializes in mistreating steadfast Falun Gong practitioners.
In June 2001, they compelled practitioners to assemble light bulbs and string
them together. It was said that the work was done for a businessman in Wenzhou
City in Zhejiang Province to increase the income of the forced labor camp. The
practitioners did not get even one cent for their labor. Shayang Forced Labor Camp is infamous for its vast land and high intensity of
slave labor. Its main product is peanuts that are sold to places such as Henan
Province. The practitioners start work at 6 a.m. every morning and come back
after 8 p.m. in the evening. After coming back from working in the peanut
fields, the practitioners are further compelled to do other chores or go to
classes meant to forcibly convert them so that they give up their belief in
Falun Dafa. The practitioners sleep very little. Every night, they are so tired
that once they lay down they fall fast asleep and don't move all night. In August 2000, the female team also worked to make products for the Forced
Labor Camp, knitting as many as ten pairs of small gloves daily. It was said
that the small gloves were made to go with a toy that was to be exported to
Japan. August 16, 2004
