Radio France Internationale: Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Zhong Suffers Severe Torture in China's Daqing Prison


(Clearwisdom.net) On the night of the 29th of August, Radio France Internationale broadcast the following report in Mandarin to Metropolitan Paris:

Falun Gong's website Clearwisdom.net reported a Falun Gong practitioner's release from Daqing prison after being tortured until close to death. According to Sunday's report [Aug 28], Zhang Zhong, who was arrested in 2002 for insert-broadcasting TV programs that exposed the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution, was subjected to persistent torture and brutal beatings in prison because he refused to renounce his belief and stop practicing Falun Gong. The Clearwisdom report stated that Zhang Zhong had plastic bags put over his head impeding his breathing, he had garlic juice and chili sauce poured over his face, he received kicks and punches, jabs on the hands with the tip of a sharp pen, and he was stripped to the waist and had freezing or boiling water poured over his body. He suffered other kinds of torture in addition to these. Clearwisdom also said that Zhang Zhong was originally sentenced to twelve years, but because he was almost tortured to death, he was released and his family took him out of Daqing Prison on 23rd July.
