(Clearwisdom.net) During past truth-clarifying activities, including those asking for signatures of support, I had different attitudes in my heart, and I made many assumptions about other people's standpoints. For example, for those dressed fashionably, I assumed they possibly had strong material desires and might not easily accept Falun Gong. When I saw older people, I thought they might be stubborn, and that I would have to spend more time to convince them. I presumed that young people were usually only interested in fun, and they might tease me. The list of my assumptions was long.

Furthermore, during my truth-clarifying telephone calls to Mainland China, when talking about the wide spread of Falun Gong throughout the world, I tried to avoid mentioning the U.S.A. because I assumed that most of China's people had anti-American sentiments. When I called China's forced labor camps or public security bureaus, I imagined the receiving party might hang up at once. Regarding clarifying the truth to the officers and soldiers in my military unit, I would judge the effect of their acceptance by their work performance. Also, for fear of not being well understood, I explained the truth much less to higher-ranking officials.

But reality has shown me the reverse of my assumptions: Those dressed fashionably accept the facts about Falun Gong fairly easily; upon hearing about Falun Gong, some older people started to believe immediately and now help to clarify the truth; many young people react positively to Falun Gong; when I mentioned the names of countries where the people are welcoming Falun Gong, the party I was speaking to in China reminded me that I had omitted the U.S.; during my calls to China's forced labor camps or public security bureaus, some of them patiently listened to me and promised to pass on the information to their co-workers; my colleagues' work performance does not have anything directly to do with their degree of acceptance of my truth clarification; and my unit's commanding colonel is very friendly towards Falun Dafa.

Actually, making presumptions about another's standpoint is a manifestation of human sentiment. Truth clarification must not be done with attachments, but should be a function of our well-cultivated side. Truth-clarification itself is a process of elevating our xinxing (mind-heart nature, character). The focal point is not how many people we talk to, but how much people really come to understand the truth about Falun Gong. We should make the truth clear to each and every person we talk to.
