Chuanxi Women's Prison Has Subjected Nearly One Hundred Practitioners to Brutal Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) After Jiang and his associates' persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, the Chuanxi Women's Prison in Sichuan Province has been detaining Falun Dafa practitioners on and off at its No. 12 division, amounting to nearly one hundred practitioners in total. During the continuous persecution, the division director Wang Xinya has made repeated remarks at many meetings, "We take the death of a Falun Gong practitioner like the death of a dog. Just take the body out and cremate it."

In April 2002, ten more practitioners detained at Chuanxi Women's Prison were placed into confinement as punishment for their refusing to wear sign plates identifying them as criminals or prisoner uniforms, and refusing to give up their cultivation. Practitioner Ms. Su Nan was hung up by her handcuffs from a window frame for 9 days and then hung up by the handcuffs with the hands behind the back for 7 more days. She was let down only three times per day for going to the toilet and forced feeding. Due to her hunger strikes to protest the persecution and the torture she has been subjected to, she lost consciousness several times. Not wanting to take responsibility, the prison officials sent her to the Ya'an local hospital. The doctor found that Ms. Su was going to die in a matter of days if left untreated.

Many detained practitioners' lives were placed at risk by the torture. Ms. Zhang Zhiqiong was tortured for asking to practice the Falun Gong exercises. In protest, she began a 45-day hunger strike. After Ms. Zhang was tortured to the point where she appeared to be mentally unstable. Later she was transferred to Sichuan Provincial Women's Prison. Meanwhile, Ms. Zhang Hongqiong and Ms. Chen Xiping were sent to an isolation chamber. When they went on hunger strike, they were force-fed.

During Ms. Yao Yuanzhen's confinement, the prison sent a prisoner to watch her. During the night, the prisoner acted indecently and groped Ms. Yao as she was hung from a window frame. Ms. Yao reported this sexual harassment to the prison police. However, the police did not punish the prisoner, but instead granted an early release to him.

Ms. Liu Ying was confined for three months. Afraid that she would expose the persecution, in June 2002 the prison police extended her jail term by three years with the excuse that she distributed Teacher's articles inside the prison. At the Sichuan Provincial Women's Prison, where Ms. Liu was transferred, the prison officials arbitrarily extended her jail term again by four more years.

In October 2002, Chuanxi Women's Prison sent detained practitioners to the brainwashing center for further torture. They also had the word "criminal" painted on their clothes. No. 12 prison division deputy director Gao Rong cut off the hair of the steadfast female practitioners. She forced the practitioners to run laps on the sports ground, and she directed prisoners to take turns dragging the practitioners who could no longer run to keep going while punching and kicking them. Practitioner Ms. Gao Hongxiang lost consciousness due to the abuse. In the meantime, practitioners Ms. Peng Jing, Ms. Su Nan, and others went on hunger strikes, and their lives are currently in danger. Ms. Jin Shaofang, Ms. Zhang Hongqiong, Ms. Zhang Qiongfang, Ms. Jiang Zhiqing, Ms. Jiang Nianyu, and others were tied up with rope. Ms. Peng Jing and Ms. Jiang Nianyu were tortured constantly in an isolation chamber. Ms. Wang Jianhui was tortured so severely that she could not walk normally for a long time.

In 2003, Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiong Lizhen suffered from hypertension due to the abuse she suffered. Practitioners Ms. Zhang Lin, Ms. Zhang Yaoqiong, Ms. Chen Xiping, and others were pinned to the ground and force-fed.

Prison police told the mentally ill criminals, "You may beat the Falun Gong practitioners. Mentally ill persons are not accountable for any crimes, including beating others to death." They instigated criminals in such a way to persecute the detained Falun Gong practitioners. At the end of 2002, the over-60-year-old practitioner Ms. Guo Qirong was tortured to death, but the prison concealed the news. Ms. Liang Hua was beaten by criminals for up to two hours while the prison guards watched. Many of the detained practitioners went into group hunger strikes in protest. Education department head and deputy head Yuan Xiaolin continually cursed Falun Dafa and insulted its founder. The prison usually participated in inciting and encouraging criminals to help persecute Dafa practitioners. Currently all the steadfast practitioners have been sent to confinement or isolation chambers for torture.
