My name is Chen Xiulian. I am a Canadian citizen. I am asking for your help to rescue my son-in-law Zhang Yumin.

Yumin began to practice Falun Gong in January 1998. My daughter and I also practice Falun Gong. Because Yumin was determined to practice Falun Gong, to live by the principles it embodies -- Truth, Compassion and Forbearance -- and to clarify the facts about Falun Gong, in July 2004, the Middle People's Court of Shenzhen City illegally sentenced him to ten years in prison. He is detained at First Detention Center of the Nanshan District of Shenzhen City.

In July 1999, Jiang Zemin started to brutally persecute millions of people who practice Falun Gong and believe in Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. In August 1999, my daughter went to Beijing to appeal to the government to stop killing innocent people. My son-in-law also went to Beijing to appeal. Consequently, he was illegally arrested in Shenzhen airport and illegally detained for fifteen days.

Later, my son-in-law worked hard to clarify the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution to local people. During the 2000 Chinese New Year festival, he broadcast the truth about Falun Dafa from a city hillside and hung a banner with the words "Falun Dafa is Great" in Shenzhen City Hall.

On the evening of July 16, 2001, local police illegally broke into my daughter's home and took my son-in-law to a brainwashing class. Because he refused to be "transformed," that is to renounce his beliefs, he has been detained ever since.

I'm asking people of conscience to help me stop this brutal persecution so millions of broken families can be reunited.
