Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province, Viciously Tortures Practitioners

September 29, 2004 |

(Clearwisdom.net) In October 2002, inside Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp, female police guards Li Xia and Liu Ping incited over 10 inmates to drag and beat female Falun Dafa practitioner Peng Shiqiong in the courtyard of Team No. 8. Li Xia also told the inmates to pick up and drop Peng's body while dragging her on the ground. As a result, Peng's pants, socks, and underwear were ripped and torn torn apart.

On January 9, 2004, some people from Australia (possibly a human rights group) came to the labor camp to investigate whether there are any "water dungeons" in the labor camp. At the time, the head of Team No. 8 Li Qi was on duty. In the No. 9 dorm, the people from Australia saw around 10 practitioners who were being punished by being forced to stand absolutely still for extended periods. When the visitors asked Li Qi why the practitioners were standing like that, Li lied, saying that they had been sitting for too long and had gotten tired, so they were standing there voluntarily. Upon hearing that, practitioners Ms. Luo Meng, Ms. Gao Huifang, and Ms. Peng Shiqiong all said that they had been forced to stand there and were not standing voluntarily. Immediately after they said these words, the inmates assigned to monitor these practitioners pushed Ms. Peng Shiqiong onto a bed and beat her up.

That night, Li Qi asked some inmates to drag Luo Meng and Peng Shiqiong to the courtyard and handcuff their hands around a tree. Li Qi then used tape to seal the two practitioners' mouths. Later on, Gao Huifang was also forced to stand in the courtyard. The three practitioners were forced to stay in the courtyard for the entire night. Before dawn the next morning, Li Qi herded all three of them into an empty room where she handcuffed Ms. Luo Meng and Ms. Peng Shiqiong's hands to the iron bars of the window. The hands of both practitioners were separated and handcuffed to different bars so that their arms were spread apart. Ms. Gao Huifang was forced to stand in the room. The next morning, Li Qi came into the room, cursed the three practitioners loudly, and beat them up. As a result, blood ran down Peng Shiqiong's entire body. After the torture, Li told the inmates to make the three practitioners stay awake for 15 days. The inmates beat them up even if they blinked their eyes just once.

On January 19, 2003, at the direction of labor camp officials, some inmates tried to force the practitioners to read books that slandered Falun Dafa and Teacher Li. Practitioners Ms. Wang Huiying, Ms. Liu Zhongli, Ms. Peng Shiqiong, Ms. Luo Meng, and Ms. Duan Wenlian refused to read the slanderous books. The inmates took the five practitioners to a small upstairs room and beat them up. As a result, the practitioners' faces were bruised and swollen. They also stripped all the clothes off of Wang, Liu, Peng, and Luo. During the process, Peng resisted. The drug addict inmates then ripped Peng's pants and underwear before stripping them off. The perpetrators pushed Luo Meng and Peng Shiqiong onto the floor and let them suffer in the freezing cold for a few hours. The two practitioners were shivering violently. They were finally allowed to put their clothes on one piece at a time, taking turns. Their tormentors again told the practitioners to read the slanderous books. The practitioners still refused. The guards then stripped off all their clothes and tried to force them to perform unnatural sex. When the two practitioners refused, the inmates then forced the practitioners' heads into each others' laps.

Later on, the inmates also forcefully fed water into the practitioners' mouths every two hours with plastic cups. Then they used disposable water bottles to force-feed water to the practitioners every once in a while. Since the practitioners were only allowed to use the restroom twice a day, many practitioners were forced to urinate in their pants. The guards then forced the practitioners to clean the urine up off the floor with their tongues. In addition, the guards used bathroom tissues to absorb the urine from the floor, then squeezed it into glasses, and forced the practitioners to drink their own waste. Even under this horrible torture, the practitioners still refused to read the books that slandered Falun Dafa and Teacher. Seeing that, the inmates continued cursing and beating them. The inmates also used a rope to tie Wang Huiying's hands and feet together. Wang was tied up like that and not allowed to sleep or use the restroom for 10 days. As a result, her buttocks festered from being soaked in her bodily wastes for so long. When she was released, Wang could not straighten her back even after a long time. The police guards spread rumors to the outside saying that the practitioners injured themselves.

In Team No. 8, the guards forced the practitioners to stand absolutely still for extended periods. The perpetrators placed a book on each practitioner's head and a small piece of newspaper between their legs with the practitioners' hands extended along the side of the legs, touching the seams of their pants. Small pieces of newspaper were placed between their fingertips and their pants. Any slight movement would result in the books or the newspaper pieces falling. When any of the items fell, the persecutors punished the practitioners by forcing them to squat down and stand up a few dozen times quickly or by forcing them to run in circles over 100 times. When anyone's book or newspaper dropped, all the practitioners who remained firm in their belief would be equally punished. Once, all the firm practitioners were forced to stand from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m. each day for several months. This extended standing caused the practitioners' feet to swell so severely that their feet would not fit into their shoes. They were then forced to stand bare-footed.

The forced labor camp also forces the practitioners to perform slave labor. Throughout the labor camp, the practitioners are forced to hand-knit flower patterns using thread. Each practitioner has to meet a quota of about 1.5 pounds of thread per day. For practitioners who are 45 years or older, the quota is less than a pound. In Team No. 8, however, all the firm practitioners, including those 45 years or older, are forced to meet a 2-pound quota. Those who cannot meet the quota are not allowed to go to sleep. Even when the practitioners can meet the quota, they are only allowed to sleep for about four hours a day.

We call for the help of all benevolent people to pay attention to the brutal persecution in Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province.
