At around 8:00 a.m. on August 30, 2004, Wang Shimin, administrator of the Liaohe Oil Field affiliated Ciyutuo Oil Extracting Factory, and deputy administrator Lu Min collaborated with personnel from the Liaohe Oil Field's "610 Office." They incited Zhang Hui, Security Section chief and deputy chief Liu Jun to arrest employee Zheng Dufei, a Falun Dafa practitioner from the Hydro Management Center and put him into Fushun City's Brainwashing Class.

Around August 20, 2004 in the morning, personnel from the National Security Section, Dayangshu Town's Forestry Bureau, Elunchun Autonomous Prefecture, collaborated with policemen from the Molidawadahaner Autonomous Prefecture and went to ransack Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang's home. In the evening they went to practitioner Mr. Liu Peiyu's home and arrested both him and his wife Ms. Jiang, who is also a practitioner. They further arrested two other practitioners, Mr. Zhang Yankui and Ms. Jiang.

Ms. Jiang has now been released. The other three practitioners are now being held at the detention center of the local forestry bureau. All of them are staging a hunger strike at present.

Mr. Zhang Yankui makes a living by operating a stationery store. Police didn't find any Dafa materials in his store, nor did they find anything at Liu Peiyu's place. Police had suspected they'd have a Dafa materials production center and ransacked their homes. Detailed information needs to be investigated.

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Jianbo was a postgraduate student from Zhejiang University, who was unlawfully sentenced to two years of forced labor on April 29, 2004. He is now being held at the Shiliping Forced Labor Camp, Longyou County, Zhejiang Province. Zhang Jianbo has been staging a hunger strike since March 29, 2004, lasting over five months so far, to protest the illegal detention and firmly resisting the persecution. His life is now in peril. His family members have urged the labor camp numerous times to release him, but their requests have been denied. Zhang Jianbo was brutally force-fed. His body is constantly wet from repeated force-feeding.

After 10:00 p.m. on January 12, 2004, without presenting any warrant or identification, male officer Kang Zhuansen from Shaan County's Police Department and more than 30 other policemen broke into a person's house and forcibly arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Jianxia from Nanguan Village, Development Zone of Sanmenxia City. At the end of January 2004, Liu Jianxia was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. Liu Jianxia staged a hunger strike to protest such illegal treatment under the persecution and submitted an appeal to Sanmenxia City's Prosecutor on February 6, 2004.

In September, three practitioners from the Hailar District in Hulunbeir City were arrested. They are Ms. Chen Yanchun from the Transportation Company, Ms. Zhang Wenli from the Railway Station and Meng Baoshan, a retired employee from the East Prefecture Prosecuting Office. In 2002, Chen Yanchun's husband was sentenced to forced labor and is being held at the Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp. Because of this, Chen has to take care of her sick daughter by herself. "610 Office" personnel did not allow her to do this. She reasoned with them, but they put her into detention anyway.

Since June, eight practitioners have been arrested so far and four are in detention.

According to information from Suzhou City's No.3 Prison in Anhui Province, Beijing authorities dispatched some personnel to specialize in Falun Gong practitioners' "reformation" work. They claimed they would force all the practitioners to give up their belief within three months in order to reach a 100% reformation rate. To achieve that goal, the police would be free to use any and all torture methods, even beating practitioners to death. Any deaths would be counted as suicide, and the detained practitioners have been subjected to wanton torture.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Yongsheng is a driver in Yichang City's Gezhouba Collective Company in Hubei Province. In early September, police from the National Security Team secretly put him into Wuhan City's Brainwashing Class.

In early May, personnel from the Qiaodong Police Precinct arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Lei Xiuhua from Dayangshu Town at a market. Another practitioner, Liu Yonglin, was arrested when he/she was making Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Without an open trial, local police sent them directly to a forced labor camp. The details are under investigation.

During the morning of July 7, 2004, local police surrounded practitioners Ms. Chen Ping and Ms. Zhang Guizhen's house in the Zhangjiawan, Shapingba District, Chongqing. Three hours later, policemen pried the door open and broke into the house. They injured Chen Ping and put her into the Geleshan Mental Hospital in the Shapingba District for abuse. Zhang Guizhen was sent to the Geleshan Brainwashing Class.

The hospital guard tied up Chen Ping's hands and feet to forcibly do a transfusion.

On July 8, Chen Ping was transferred to the Geleshan Brainwashing Class for further torture. The two practitioners' relatives and friends are not being allowed to visit them.

Xie Jinmiao, a practitioner from Shenzhen City, was arrested because he/she sent a short truth-clarifying message on the Internet. Shi Jiyu (former colonel in the military) was arrested again in early June. Yao Zhen and Chen Zeqi were arrested together at the end of May. They are quite likely being detained at a detention center or forced labor camp.

The International Population and Development Forum was held on September 7 in Wuhan City. All available policemen were dispatched to track down practitioners. The Wuhan City Police Department, Traffic Management Bureau, and Automobile Associate made an announcement to call on all taxi drivers and bus drivers to report practitioners seen clarifying the truth or distributing literature. Those who report one practitioner would be rewarded with 300 to 600 Yuan. Those who report a practitioner making truth-clarifying materials would be rewarded 1,000 to 2,000 Yuan.

On August 28, practitioners in a Beijing area successfully held an experience-sharing meeting. The practitioners felt that everyone should do the three things better [study the Fa, clarify the truth and send righteous thoughts]. They also proposed that practitioners in Beijing expose local evildoers to the public and clarify the truth better.
