Dafa Practitioner Wang Guohau from Dehui City, Jilin Province, Brutally Tortured

An informer reported Dafa practitioners Wang Guohua, Wang Xinxiang, and Zhu Hong to the police when they were explaining the truth about Falun Gong in Guojia Town on March 25, 2004. A plainclothes policeman harassed them unreasonably, and so Wang Guohua and the other two began to explain the true situation to the police. When they wanted to leave and go back home, the plainclothes policeman all of a sudden took out his gun to stop them. Together with Liu, the head of Criminal Police Section of Dehhui City, and Bi Guoquan of the Guojia Police Station, he took the three Dafa practitioners away.

The Dehui Police Department collaborated with Section One of Changchun City Police Department to persecute Dafa practitioners. At 5:00 p.m. on March 29, driver Wu and Director Li from the Dehui City Detention Center transferred Wang Guohua to Section One of the Changchun Police Department. The policemen tortured him, forcing him to sit on the "Tiger Bench,"(1) covering his head with five layers of plastic bags, and gagging him with towels. He could not shout out, although he was in intense pain. His tormentors also used electric batons and other methods to torture Wang Guohua until he went into shock. They did not stop until he was close to death. He was later sent to the Dehui Detention Center where his mistreatment continued. At the Dehui detention center they used underhanded methods to intimidate and frighten his family members into signing some documents. They threatened Wang Guohua's son, who is still a student at school to sign the arrest order, saying, "We will arrest him whether you sign it or not." At present, Wang Guohua is still detained in the Dehui Detention Center, suffering outrageous torture. A former disease that had been cured by his Falun Gong practice has also returned. Both his mind and body have been severely damaged.

(1) Tiger Bench: Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. With their hands tied behind their backs or sometimes placed on their knees, they are forced to sit straight up and look straight ahead. They are not allowed to turn their heads, close their eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch over and force the practitioners to remain motionless while sitting on the bench. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse.
