Ms. Liu Chengyan is in Critical Condition after Holding a Five Week Hunger Strike at Fushun Detention Center, Liaoning Province


(Clearwisdom.net) The Fushun City Detention Center is located in Nangou, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Many Falun Gong practitioners were previously detained there, and were later sent to various prisons after being illegally sentenced. Ms. Meng Yan and Ms. Ji Baozhen were among such practitioners.

At present there are still over a dozen practitioners detained in the detention center. They have been sentenced to ten-year-plus terms. The prison refused to take them after determining during medical checkups that Ms. Liu Chengyan, from Wanghua District, Fushun City, and Ms. Qu Cailing, had health problems. As a result, the two ladies were taken back to the detention center, where they are still being detained.

In order to protest the detention, Liu Chengyan has been on a hunger strike for five weeks, and she is now in critical condition. But the detention center police claim, "She is responsible if she dies!" Qu Cailing was brutally beaten for calling out "Falun Dafa is good" in the detention center.
