Persecution-Related Death of Daqing Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Guo Yuzhen

(Clearwisdom. net) Falun Dafa practitioner Guo Yuzhen of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province died on May 4, 2004. She suffered long-term persecution for upholding her beliefs. Following are the details:

Ms. Guo Yuzhen, 47 years old, was a Daqing City's Huaneng Xinhua Power Company Limited retiree and a Falun Gong practitioner.

On May 27, 2002, police followed her while she was on her way to get Falun Dafa truth clarification materials. She was abducted, her home was searched and she was sent to the Daqing City Detention Center the same day. After 40 days of illegal detention, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Harbin City Drug Rehabilitation Center, but due to poor health was sent home on probation.

Guo Yuzhen's employer stopped her retirement pension and forced her husband to stay at home to "reform" her. His pay was converted to "laid off" pay, and he was threatened with a permanent lay-off. Under this tremendous pressure, Guo's husband tried to force her to stop cultivation and prohibited her from studying the Fa and practicing the exercises. He would torment her and force her to write a "Regret Statement" if he spotted her studying the Fa or practicing the exercises.

Suffering from this physical and mental abuse and mistreatment, Guo Yuzhen's health deteriorated quickly. On September 6, 2002, she was sent to a hospital due to a brain hemorrhage. In 2003, her employer escalated the persecution by taking away her benefits and came to her home to harass her. On May 4, 2004, not being able to tolerate the long time persecution any longer, Guo Yuzhen died in her home.
