A New Practitioner and His Wife Become Illness-free after Practicing Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 46 year-old handicapped person in Changyi, Weifang City, Shandong Province. I like to read books about materialism and modern science very much. In the past, this was the only way I could look at things.

In the winter of 2003, I was overwhelmed with curiosity and suspicion and I began to question why Jiang's regime suppressed Falun Gong, and exactly what "crime" it had committed. So I borrowed a copy of Zhuan Falun from a friend. While reading "Lunyu" (the preface of Zhuan Falun), my attention was immediately aroused and it caused me to look at things from a different point of view. I felt this preface was clear and refreshing, and I yearned to read the whole book.

While reading the book, I tried to look for negative things as described by the Chinese media. After finishing the book, however, I couldn't find a trace of the bad things the government was claiming. Instead, I came to an entirely different conclusion: that is, if everyone learns Falun Gong, moral standards will rise and society will become more stable and harmonious. People's lives will also become better, and cultural activity will increase. Strong and healthy people will then rise all over the world.

At the time I was not religious at all. My understanding of Zhuan Falun was that by using human science and modern physics, Zhuan Falun covered many things that were never before described by anyone. The book is of interest and value to both sophisticated intellectuals and simple laymen. The book uses simple language to explain profound meanings and it discloses the true principles of the universe to mankind.

One day my wife asked me what I thought of the book. I said it was very well written. I told her that the things it described were very convincing and suggested that she also read it. Thus, my wife began studying the book after she got off work.

Surprisingly, when she reached page 50, her body had a dramatic change. In the past she had to urinate frequently and in a hurry. That problem suddenly disappeared. As she progressed through the book, all of her illnesses such as headaches (a problem since her youth), backaches, irregular menstrual cycles, chest congestion, soreness and warmth in the center of her palms and soles, and protrusion of her neck vertebra all disappeared. Right now, all of her illnesses are gone and she is in excellent shape; she has become an outgoing person again.

My wife also used to have suicidal tendencies. Part of this was due to my disability and because the burden of the whole family was on her shoulders (there used to be six people in our family; our parents were old and ill and our two children were still very young). Furthermore, I had a bad temper and was quite often rough on her for simple things. Thus, my wife was very pessimistic and was often in despair. She attempted to commit suicide many times. After reading Zhuan Falun, however, she learned the true meaning of life and turned into a vibrant person again. This caused me to change my character as well. I learned to control my temper by trying to look inward every time I was faced with a conflict.

Seeing my wife's tremendous physical and mental change, I decided to watch the video of Mr. Li Hongzhi's Dalian City lecture from 1994. I watched it with a trusting and reverent heart. When I finished the 9-day lecture, a miracle happened to me. Four years ago, I had an operation for bleeding in my brain. Afterwards I suffered from constant headaches and dizziness, which I was told was incurable. After I watched the videotapes, my problems disappeared and I no longer needed any medication. I was led to a path that kept me vibrant and young.

My family is now good and kind. I used to be an absolute materialist; however, I would like to thank Mr. Li and his book Zhuan Falun. I want to yell, "Falun Dafa is good. 'Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance' are good. They are the true meaning of the universe." We will follow the requirements of Dafa and march forward.

It has been more than four years since I last wrote anything because of my various illnesses. I have been so lucky to have found Falun Dafa and get a new life that I want to write it down to share with others. I hope that fellow practitioners can give me their critique after reading this article.
