Inner Mongolia Dafa Practitioner Mr. Liu Zichen Has Been Sent to Labor Camps Three Times

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Zichen from Wudongfang, Huolinguole City in Inner Mongolia is 38 years old. He has experienced frequent illegal imprisonment and persecution during the course of the past several years. Around April 2003, Liu Zichen was released after going on a hunger strike for over a month. Within two weeks of the release he was abducted again and taken to the Wuyuan Labor Camp by local "Law and Order Office" personnel, together with National Security Division authorities. The labor camp refused to take him due to his physical condition, but local police insisted on leaving him there. Now there is no information about Liu Zichen's situation. We do not know if he is alive or dead or what his current condition is. The follow account are the details about Liu Zhichen we were able to gather to now:

1. Illegally imprisoned several times but still refusing to renounce his belief

Since Jiang launched his persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, the local police have frequently persecuted Liu Zichen. In total, he was detained four times and sent to labor camps three times.

The first time he went to Beijing to speak out for justice for Falun Gong was in August 1999. He was sentenced to one year of forced labor and was kept in a local detention center. After ten months he saw an opportunity and walked away from detention center with the power of his righteous thoughts. He had been in the area around Changchun City Cargo Station and found a temporary job, carrying baggage for a living. During this period he saw some slogans slandering Dafa hanging on a main street in Changchun City, so he tore them down, replacing them with "Falun Dafa is great! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa!"

During the police mass arrests in Changchun City, Liu Zichen was sent to a police station, when it was discovered he did not have an ID or residency papers for the city. He kept on practicing the Falun Gong exercises and was reported by a convict in the same cell. That is how the police learned he was a Dafa practitioner. After the police station learned where he was from, they took him to the local police station and directly put him into the Huolinhe Detention Center in August 2001.

Several police officers at the Huolinhe Detention Center were reprimanded because of his escape, so they retaliated against him by persecuted him severely this time to vent their anger. That day, five or six police guards surrounded and beat him, taking turns.

In the cell, criminals beat, cursed and verbally abused him. They even stole his food and daily necessities. He used the mercy that he cultivated from Dafa to eliminate all kinds of evil. The criminals in the same cell were touched by his kindness. They started to study the Falun Gong teachings and practice Falun Gong exercises with him. They recited the Teacher's articles together, practiced together and held the hand gestures to send forth righteous thoughts. The police were unable to prevent them. So the guards came up with the idea to transfer Liu Zichen to another cell commonly thought to house the worst and most vicious criminals. However, although Liu Zichen was transferred to the most vicious cell, the kindness he exhibited melted their hearts. The criminals admired him from the bottom of their hearts and also started learning to practice Falun Gong.

A person who used to be detained in the same cell with Liu Zichen said, "Your Falun Gong is so good! Liu Zichen is really a man. He really had no complaints at all when being struck or cursed. He is really worthy of admiration!"

No matter how the guards beat him, no matter how the guards incited criminals in the same cell to torture him, he kept on practicing in the detention center. He refused to recite the "jail regulation" when ordered to do so. No matter how hard he was beaten, he stayed silent and still.

2. Put into a labor camp for the second time

On September 17, 2001, Liu Zichen was put into a labor camp for the second time and was illegally sentenced to a two-year term. He was sent to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp.

As soon as he entered the labor camp, the police responsible for registration demanded he answer, "Practice Falun Gong or not?" Liu Zichen replied, "I Practice Falun Gong." No more words! The police put him into solitary confinement in the strictly monitored division. It was close to winter and the cell was dark and smelled awful.

To protest this inhuman abuse and mistreatment, Liu Zichen went on a hunger strike as soon as he got in. In this concrete cell where one could not even stand up straight, Liu had neither warm clothes, toilet paper nor other necessities. He was forced to endure so much pain and hardship that ordinary people could hardly imagine it. In spite of these dark days, with the firm belief in Falun Dafa, he went on a hunger strike for a total of 58 days and emerged from solitary confinement with dignity. For 58 days and nights, Liu Zichen's hands and feet were firmly tied to a wooden board bed and he was not permitted to go to use the toliet.

In May 2002, the guards tied six thin ropes Liu Zichen hands and arms behind his back. Throwing the rope over a beam they pulled the rope hard which caused his bound hands to elevate straight up toward the ceiling while at the same time tightening the rope so tight it cut into his skin. The eight men were all sweating, and some guards went for a shower and came back to continue their vicious work. Although the pain was excruciating and others had suffered broken arms or dislocated shoulders from this vicious torture, Liu Zichen didn't utter a sound through the entire torture session. He didn't yield at all. Even the guards in the labor camp had to admire his firm belief in Dafa and his courage.

At that time, Tumuji Forced Labor Camp Dafa practitioners made five requests: release them unconditionally; allow them to freely practice Falun Gong; improve the quality of food; end the constant beatings, and provide justice for Dafa practitioner Wang Zhicheng, who was severely beaten and injured. Under the power of the whole group of Dafa practitioners, except for request 1 and 2, the labor camp agreed to all the other conditions.

After the hunger strike in the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp, the heavy physical labor and savage beatings, coupled with other gross abuse and mistreatment, Liu Zichen's body was tortured to a very weak state. He was just skin and bones and on the brink of death. In August, afraid of taking the responsibility, the labor camp had to sent him home in a vehicle. He was released with the verdict "not guilty."

After coming home, Liu Zichen practiced and studied the Fa, and he recovered very quickly. Around April 2003, Liu Zichen was reported when he clarified the truth and put up a poster reading, "Falun Dafa is great." He was arrested and again taken to the detention center. Liu Zichen went on a hunger strike for over one month. He didn't cooperate with any police requests or schemes. The police could do nothing with him so they released him.

Within two weeks, the local "Law and Order Office" personnel teamed up with the National Security Division's "610 Office" and arrested Liu Zichen again, citing a "sensitive date" as an excuse and sent him to the Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp. At that time, the head of the Wuyuan Forced Labor Camp refused to accept Liu Zichen. Then the National Security Division's "610 Office" police duped a person in the labor camp, "We will get some lunch while you keep an eye on him." Then they just took off in a car.

After returning, these police officers even boasted, telling others, "This time he was thrown away."

There have been no further messages about Liu Zichen. Information about his condition is not available.
