Sweden: Series of Anti-Torture Exhibitions in Gothenburg Uncovers the Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 3, 2004, Swedish practitioners held the last of a series of three anti-torture exhibitions outside the administrative office of the Gothenburg City government.

Many people showed concern and support for Falun Gong practitioners in China by signing the petition that calls on the Swedish government to condemn the persecution

Members of the City Executive Board could see the exhibition from their office windows in the city hall by the square. Mr. Erik J Lithander, a kind gentlemen and member of the board, visited the exhibition several times to show support.

The exhibitions attracted thousands of visitors. Many were indignant when they saw the torture methods used to force Falun Gong practitioners to denounce their belief. A lady asked, "What kind of people allow these atrocities to take place?"

Falun Gong practitioners pointed out that the former Chinese head of state, Jiang Zemin, was personally responsible for the persecution that has claimed more than 1,000 confirmed deaths and caused enormous sufferings for millions of innocent Chinese families.
