(Clearwisdom.net) From July 26 to August 13, Madou National Elementary School
in Tainan County held a 3-week Minghui Children's Summer Camp. This activity was
planned and organized by a group of teachers who practice Falun Gong and warmly
received by students and their parents. About 50 children attended the summer
camp. Teachers utilized their summer vacation time to hold this activity. They
worked very hard but they were very happy, because the seeds of "Truthfulness,
Compassion and Tolerance" have already taken root in children's hearts. The
Minghui School's young practitioners' improvement really encourages everyone,
including the teachers, students and their parents.
Learning the five sets of Falun Gong exercises

In the summer camp, young children learned the five sets of Falun Gong
exercises. From just imitating the movements to accurately doing the exercises,
the children quickly learned the four sets of standing exercises in a peaceful
and joyful atmosphere. The tranquil meditation was the hardest part for them.
But they were eventually able to become calm and gradually enter the tranquil
state from ceaseless moving and making faces at the beginning. When studying the
Fa (1), teachers had the children sit in either the semi-lotus or full-lotus
position. They followed the teachers to recite Master Li's articles sentence by
sentence. The children became more focused and more enduring. During the process
of enduring the hardship and eliminating their karma while sitting with their
legs crossed, one could clearly feel the great improvement in their characters.
The children also learned to sing songs, most of which were composed by Falun
Gong practitioners. The songs included, "Falun Dafa is Great," "I Am a Good
Student of Minghui School," "Baby Meditates" and others. Children enjoyed
singing those songs very much. They also learned to recite many poems from
Master Li's poem collection, Hongyin. Group sports activities, including
soccer, softball, frisbee and jump rope skipping were also arranged for younger
students. The older students practiced calligraphy and learned to write with
their pure and calm hearts words like, "heaven," "earth and humans," and
"Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance are in our hearts."
In the summer camp, several videos for children were also played. The stories
were very interesting and children learned through playing. In addition to
allowing the children to learn some history, the stories also let children
understand the meaning of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. When children
shared their experiences later on, many of them said that they had become more
patient. They would not randomly lose their temper. In addition, they are now
able to get up early, and they study and rest according to a regular schedule.
The children felt comfortable and happy, and they have made a number of new
friends. They hoped that they would continue this way.
Teachers who practice Falun Gong expressed their hope for these children: Let
the seeds of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance grow in your hearts and
follow these principles in your daily life. They hope that the children will
develop into good students and good people.
