After Conditions in Forced Labor Camp Are Exposed a Practitioner Held beyond Expiration of Term Is Released

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Du Hongfang, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jiling City, was illegally arrested by the Jiling City Police Department in July 2002. She was tortured and illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor. She was imprisoned in the fourth brigade, second sub-brigade at the Changchun City, Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp.

On orders of the chief commander of the prison police, Zhang Guimei, "Reformed" former Falun Dafa practitioners and the prison guards tried to brainwash Ms. Du, depriving her of sleep many days and nights. In addition, she was forced to watch videos and read books, which defamed Falun Dafa and Teacher.

Ms. Du Hongfang firmly resisted this torment. She exposed the crimes committed by Jiang's regime in her mandatory monthly "Thought Reports," and signed them with "Falun Dafa practitioner - Du Hongfang." The prison guards tortured her with electric shocks at the end of each month.

Ms. Du's families visited her a couple of times and learned that she had been tortured brutally. In addition, local Falun Dafa practitioners exposed her suffering cruel tortures in the forced labor camp on the Minghui website several times. Knowing that they were exposed to the outside, the prison guards no longer dared to beat and torture her mercilessly.

Her two-year sentence expired in July 2004. The prison police asked Ms. Du to sign a pledge, renouncing Falun Dafa, but Ms. Du rejected them. For this reason, the forced labor camp refused to release her. Shortly after learning this news, local Falun Dafa practitioners reported that Ms. Du was illegally detained by the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, 14 days beyond the expiration of her prison term to the Minghui website. Ms. Du's families went to the Forced Labor Camp to ask them to release her. Due to this righteous pressure, Ms. Du was released a week later from the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp.

At the time of Ms. Du's release, Liu Zhiwei, the prison guard of the fourth brigade, second sub-brigade beseeched Ms. Du not to expose the torment she suffered in the forced labor camp to the Minghui website. Du Hongfang refused all her requests and left the forced labor camp with dignity.
