(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Yang Baozhen, 55 years old, was a retired employee
of Dabusu Department Store, Qian'an Township, Jilin Province. She started
her practice of Falun Gong in 1998 and gained great health benefits.
Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, the local police have harassed and threatened her many times. On December 17, 2003, Shao Yanbo of Qian'an Township Police Department, Ming Yaoxue of the Third Police Station and others illegally
ransacked Yang's home and arrested her.
Yang was later sentenced to labor camp for one year. During her labor camp detention, Yang showed heart disease symptoms and was released on bail for treatment.
Yang was under close surveillance and was harassed after her release. She was forced to leave home and went from place to place to escape further persecution. As a result, Yang suffered greatly physically and mentally and passed away on November 8, 2004.
(Clearwisdom.net) Shandong Province Falun Dafa practitioner Lu Xuesheng from Zouping County Taizi Town, is over 60 years old. She has been illegally arrested, detained and sent to labor camps many times. Her most recent detention resulted from writing the Shandong provincial party committee secretary Zhang Gaoli a letter to clarify the truth about Falun Gong and to request the release of her son, Wang Zikang, also a practitioner.
Lu Xuesheng and her two children are all steadfast practitioners. Since July 20 of 1999, Lu, her daughter Wang Xin, and her son Wang Zikang have all been arrested, detained and sent to labor camps, but they have never given in to the pressure to renounce Falun Dafa.
Mr. Wang Zikang, a graduate from Xi'an University, began practicing Falun Dafa during his studies in Xi'an. He brought the book Zhuan Falun home and later his mother and his younger sister also took up the practice. After Wang Zikang escaped from the labor camp with righteous thoughts, he worked at a collective enterprise. Though money was scarce, he bought a copier and was later sentenced to four years for printing Falun Gong materials.
Ms. Wang Xin, a technical college graduate, was a teacher. After she was released from the labor camp, she returned to her original work unit, Taizidou eighth elementary school, to teach. Because she refused to be brainwashed in labor camp, she was only paid a little over 100 yuan per month in salary, a fraction of what others were paid.
Ms. Lu Xuesheng was the first practitioner to go on a hunger strike to successfully recover the book Zhuan Falun from the prison guards in the wake of the persecution launched by Jiang's regime in 1999. No matter how severe the persecution, she never stopped clarifying the truth to the people around her. In her letter to Shandong provincial party committee secretary Zhang Gaoli, she clarified the facts, told him that Falun Dafa is good and requested the unconditional release of her son. The Shandong Province 610 Office chief, the Bingzhou City 610 chief and the Zouping County 610 detained Lu Xuesheng at the Zouping detention center. At present it is winter and the detention center is exceptionally cold. Lu Xuesheng, who is over 60 years old, is imprisoned and suffering for upholding truth and justice.

Walking into Xinhua Labor Camp in Sichuan Province, viewing the green, grassy landscape, the beautiful clean architecture, and the modern monitoring equipment, one might think that it is a very civilized place. But behind the scenes of this modern building are bloody crimes, hidden from the public eye.

Inside Xinhua Labor Camp, there is a camera inside each cell monitoring practitioners, to see if they are doing the Falun Gong exercises. However, when the camp authorities see how the practitioners are abused by guards and criminal inmates, they pretend that they did not see what happened. Common prisoners incarcerated in the labor camp are brainwashed, forced to watch videos that slander Falun Gong and that spark a hatred towards Falun Gong. These inmates are told that if they can "transform" a practitioner, they can have their sentence reduced by twenty days. Life in the labor camp is very difficult. Therefore, reducing their sentence for twenty days is a very attractive reward for many labor camp inmates.
The police persecute the practitioners in the Xinhua Labor Camp using various means. For first-time illegally imprisoned practitioners, the police separate them from the rest of the practitioners, not allowing them to talk to anyone or to read any books or newspapers. They then monitor the practitioners for a long time. If they discover any fears on the part of a practitioner, they will intimidate, harass, and then try to defeat them using that fear as a starting point for their wicked tactics. If a practitioner is very determined, then they will pretend to be very kind, taking care of the practitioner and puzzling them as to why the behavior of the labor camp personnel is so different from what has been reported on the Minghui/Clearwisdom websites. With this confusing behavior, they attempt to take practitioners down a wrong path. If both the intimidation tactics and their insincere kindness do not work, then they will put a practitioner into intensive persecution groups and subject them to sleep deprivation and other punishments called "training." They intentionally create hardships for practitioners and force them to "oppose" the authorities. If a practitioner "opposes" them, then they would say that the practitioner had violated the labor camp's rules and use that as an excuse for further persecution.
A guard named Zhao Yu is about thirty-six years old. Labor camp staff call him Hitler, not only because he looks like Hitler, but he uses cruel methods to persecute practitioners.
In 2002, Zhao Yu organized a special group to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners in the Fourth Division are all very determined in their belief. The camp guards and Zhao Yu would not allow practitioners to sleep for more than one or two hours each night. This situation lasted for a couple of months. During the day, the practitioners were subjected to intensive physical training. There were six people for every practitioner and every "training exercise" was mechanically repeated over and over. Otherwise, practitioners were forced to run laps for long periods of time. When it was raining, practitioners were forced to sit upright like soldiers to watch brainwashing videos. On days of good weather, Zhao Yu sat on his chair and enjoyed tea while watching the practitioners' suffering.
Some labor camp inmates did not want to participate in the persecution against Dafa practitioners. Therefore, Zhao Yu forced them to carry bricks, exhausting them, and then he forced them to physically torture the practitioners. When practitioners protested Zhao Yu's evil acts, wicked labor camp inmates would gang up to beat and throw practitioners to the ground. Then Zhao Yu would use ropes to tie them up and send them to the so-called "protection division" where they were shocked with a hundred thousand volts from electron batons. Usually, there would be several electric batons applied to practitioners at the same time. On one occasion, practitioner Mr. Wei Lang was shocked with six electric batons at the same time, on the side of his head, face, neck, and chest. When experiencing the shocks, the muscles throughout his entire body painfully contracted. After seeing how he was suffering, some inmates left with tears in their eyes.
Zhao Yu abusively used torture to persecute practitioners beyond the body's capacity for endurance. Practitioner Zheng Fangjun was injured after having had his head rammed into a wall by several criminal inmates. Yet Zhao Yu still forced Mr. Zheng to run and walk with military-style steps in the snow all day. When Zheng Fangjun refused to walk, Zhao Yu ordered six labor camp inmates to drag him at a run, kicking him all the while. If Zheng Fangjun still refused to run, then Zhao Yu would punish the inmates who were "helping" him. If the labor camp's inmates did not actively participate in persecuting practitioners, Zhao Yu would give them a very hard time. But if they did participate in the persecution, Zhao Yu might reward them with a twenty day sentence reduction. If practitioners were on a hunger strike, Zhao Yu would order labor camp inmates to first beat the practitioners. Then they would force-feed them.
Later, due to some underhanded financial dealings, Zhao Yu was investigated. A lot of people were angry at him, and the labor camp wanted to transfer him. However, he asked one of his relatives who worked in the city government to refuse to authorize the transfer. Even though Zhao Yu has gone mad in his brutal persecution of practitioners, practitioners are becoming more and more determined. Therefore, the special group for persecuting practitioners in the Fourth Division was later dismantled.
The persecution in Xinhua Labor Camp was very severe. Long-term sleep deprivation, for as long as a couple of months, was used widely. Every day, practitioners could only sleep for one or two hours and sometimes they were forced to stay up all night and be subjected to intense brainwashing. In the afternoon, practitioners had to sit upright in military fashion and could not talk or close their eyes while the person sitting next to them read a book slandering Dafa. If the practitioner blinked his eyes, fell asleep or relaxed, he or she would be slapped on the face, beaten, or kicked. Then he'd be forced into a squatting position to listen to the slanderous books. If practitioners refused to submit to these demands, then all the inmates would gang up to beat them. If practitioners still refused to give in, then they would be reported to labor camp authorities and they would be subjected to various tortures, including being tied up with ropes and shocked with electron batons. If the practitioners still refused to submit, then their sentences would be extended.
There is a stark contrast between the beautiful building of Xinhua Labor Camp and the dark, evil activities that take place inside. People say that the place is run like a state-sanctioned organized crime ring, where terrorism prevails.
(Clearwisdom.net) July 26, 1998 was a day I will never forget. Teacher took time out of his busy schedule to return to Changchun from abroad and meet practitioners in his hometown. We had never thought it possible, not even in our dreams.
At about 3:30 p.m. that day, we went to the Shangri-La Hotel. The conference was held in a big hall located in the southwest corner of the second floor. The conference hall was serene and solemn. A yellow cloth covered the podium, on which there stood a pot of colorful flowers. Seeing this, we all had a hunch that the Teacher was coming. We waited for that wonderful moment with great excitement. At about 4:50 p.m., Teacher appeared at the entrance. Everybody stood up, and welcomed Him with thunderous applause. Teacher walked toward the podium along the aisle on the left side and reached out to shake the hands of the practitioners who stood near the aisle.
Once at the podium, Teacher stood and asked a staff assistant to position his chair higher, saying," I'll sit a little higher so that everybody will have a good view." At 5:05, he began to give a lecture. Teacher was very happy, and said to all the disciples in the audience,
"I haven't seen you for a long time... Yet you have cultivated yourselves well, and I can say that no true cultivator has been left behind. It's the same whether or not you've seen me in person. You won't be treated differently as long as you keep cultivating on this path of cultivation. (Applause)(from "Teaching the Fa at the Assistants' Fa Conference in Changchun")
Teacher believes in his practitioners. Teacher repeatedly told us to seize the time to study the Fa, practice the exercises, improve our Xinxing and use the Fa as a guide at all times. During the ten-minute break, Teacher didn't even drink any water. Instead he stood beside the podium and answered practitioners' questions with regard to their cultivation.
One veteran practitioner was afraid that there wasn't enough time left, so he asked Teacher how much time was left for cultivation. Teacher told him that as long as he seized the time to cultivate, time would not be a problem. Teacher said that time is limited, but I enlightened to its inner meaning afterward. Teacher knew about the arrangements of the old forces. Jiang's regime was about to launch the persecution against Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa disciples would soon walk the path of Fa-rectification cultivation. Practitioners in Teacher's hometown were major targets of the persecution. That's why the Teacher repeatedly told us to seize the time to study the Fa and practice the exercises to lay a good foundation so that we can fulfill our historical responsibilities.
After the break, Teacher began to answer questions for the group. Teacher pointed out practitioners' serious responsibilities many times during both the lecture and the question and answer period. We didn't enlighten to it at the time. One practitioner asked,
"Since Sakyamuni came from the sixth-layer universe, why wasn't he able to see the boundary of the small universe?"
Teacher: "Some of you in the audience came from very high levels too, but you can't see anything, not even things beyond humans."

At that moment, we were all shocked. We had never thought that we came from such high levels. We didn't realize that Falun Dafa practitioners would be asked to shoulder a mission to validate the Fa, save sentient beings and leave lasting magnificence during this historical period.
At 10:10 p.m., the lecture ended with warm and enthusiastic applause.
Teacher stepped down from the podium. He walked out of the conference room from the aisle on the right side. Walking in from the left and out from the right, the Teacher actually circled the entire hall. How considerate our Teacher is. Teacher tried to shake hands with each and every Falun Dafa practitioner, fulfilling their wishes. Though I had cultivated for four years and was a practitioner in the Teacher's hometown, I had never seen Teacher in person.
As the compassionate Teacher appeared in front of me, I suddenly held his hands with my both hands. I could not express how excited I was. I wouldn't exchange that moment for any amount of money. I had never had such an experience in all my life. My mind and body were entirely immersed in happiness. I could only express myself one way, and that is to firmly cultivate Falun Dafa. No matter how many difficulties and dangers there are, I'll follow the Teacher and complete the path all the way.
Jiang has used his power to brutally persecute Falun Dafa since July 20, 1999. As a practitioner from the Teacher's hometown, I acted in a way that is worthy of Teacher's expectation. I let go of all my attachments to the greatest extent and went to Beijing to validate the Fa and clarify the truth to people. Whenever I encountered difficulties, I would recollect that scene that of the Teacher giving the lecture, and remember his words,
"It's hard to endure, but you can endure it. It's hard to do, but you can do it." (from Zhuan Falun)
During these years of trials and tribulations, I had made efforts to do what a Falun Dafa practitioner should do. I was dismissed from my job, illegally detained three times, and was once sentenced to forced labor. No matter how I was persecuted, they could never shake my firm determination to practice Falun Dafa.
We Falun Dafa practitioners should cherish this opportunity as it will never again be available. As the Fa-rectification progresses to the final stage, Teacher has told us to let go of human attachments and save the world's people. Not seizing this opportunity and using excuses would be a manifestation of our human attachments. We must overcome the obstacles set in our path that keep us from saving all sentient beings. The sentient beings have waited millions upon millions of years to be saved. If they cannot be saved, it will be our biggest loss. Let's cherish the time, try our best to do well the three things that the Teacher has told us again and again to do, and walk righteously every step on the Fa-rectification cultivation path.
(Clearwisdom.net) The dictionary defines "politics" as, "The art or science of government or governing, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs." The definition of "governing" is, "To make and administer public policy and affairs." Therefore, to "get involved in politics" would be to "get involved in the governing of a political entity and control of its affairs."
Falun Dafa does not get involved in politics, and therefore does not "get involved in the governing of a political entity and control of its affairs," nor does it influence the "making and administering of public policy and affairs." Ever since Falun Dafa was introduced to the public, Falun Dafa and its practitioners have never attempted to influence the governance of any nation, nor has it tried to control the affairs of any nation.
In the west, Falun Dafa practitioners go to Chinese consulates to appeal and protest the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) and Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Dafa and its practitioners. Is this "getting involved in politics"? Of course not! Such actions cannot be considered political, as they simply reveal the facts of the persecution and ask for an end to the persecution. They are not attempts to make and administer public policy, nor are they attempts to govern China or control its affairs.
Falun Dafa practitioners are exposing the evil that the CCP has committed in China, especially the wrongdoings committed during the persecution of Falun Dafa. Is this "getting involved in politics"? Again, according to the definition of "politics" this is not at all political, as it is in no way an attempt to govern China or control its affairs. It is simply exposing the evils of the current ruling party in China (Chinese Communist Party) that has persecuted Falun Dafa, so as to let the world see its true nature and understand the unjust persecution of Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa practitioners meet with government representatives of various levels in many countries throughout the world, and talk to them about the persecution of Falun Dafa. Is this "getting involved in politics"? Of course not! This is simply revealing the injustices, asking for help and for justice to be upheld. Though the passing of resolutions demonstrating the representatives' disapproval of the persecution of Falun Dafa involves a certain political process, the role of Falun Dafa practitioners is not a political role, as they do not attempt to control or govern the state, but are simply expressing to the state's representatives the truth of Falun Dafa and the persecution, and encouraging the representatives to stand on the side of justice. The choices thereafter made by the government representatives may involve a political process and influence policy and affairs of the state, but that specific political process is completely executed by the government representatives of their own free will, and not at all by practitioners of Falun Dafa. Therefore the practitioners are simply not "getting involved in politics."
Then why is it that when some who see our appeals and protests, or see practitioners meeting with government representatives, that they feel that Falun Dafa is "getting involved in politics"? Why when people read articles written by Falun Dafa practitioners exposing the evils of the CCP, do some also feel these articles are "political"? It is because many people have somewhat incorrect notions about what constitutes "getting involved in politics." Today, many people will label any protest or discussion of any affair under the rule of a government as "getting involved in politics." But this is a misinterpretation of the term. Politics specifically relates to the governance, administration, and control of state affairs, while protests, appeals, and exhibits clarifying the truth are in a completely different category.
I remember hearing the following comparison made once with regard to the persecution of Falun Dafa: What if in a certain town, the mayor does not like your mother, even though she is innocent and has done nothing wrong. The mayor uses his power to have her arrested, beaten by the police, put on a show trial, and sentenced to prison. If you go to the mayor's office and appeal to have your mother released, and also write articles revealing how bad that mayor and his administration are, and how poorly they have conducted themselves and the similar things they have done in the past, are you "getting involved in politics"? Of course not! Your actions have nothing to do with politics. They are fully intended to uphold justice. But if this incident happened under the rule of the CCP, the mayor would say that you are "getting involved in politics" and unleash all his power on you to eliminate you. At the same time, the people would go along with this, as you would be considered "political" and therefore these actions of revealing the evil nature of the mayor and his regime would be considered bad, and in the people's minds it would not only be acceptable to eliminate you, but it would be seen as correct and "upholding the stability of society."
As practitioners of Falun Dafa, we need to be clear on the difference between what we are doing and "getting involved in politics." As members of society, we need to be clear on what is truly upholding justice, and support those who stand up for what is right. If we are influenced by or even we ourselves use the label "getting involved in politics" improperly, then we are not only not supporting what is right and good, but also adding to the suppression of justice.
(Clearwisdon.net) I am a practitioner who first learned about Falun Dafa in 1998. I first understood what cultivation is when I read the following in Zhuan Falun:
"...the entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments."
Master requires us to conform as much as possible to the state of everyday people in our cultivation and to make the best use of time for genuine cultivation. I realized that doing the three things well is the standard by which we, Fa-rectification period disciples, may complete our cultivation and fulfill our vows. Dafa disciples in Mainland China, in particular, are the main body for validating the Fa and clarifying the truth. Facing the huge difficulties contrived by the old forces, here are my personal opinions on how to do better to offer salvation to more people.
1. The most important Fa-rectification requirement is to do the three things well (study the Fa, explain the facts and send forth righteous thoughts), putting them first in our daily work and life.
Doing well in the three things according to Master's requirement is a manifestation of our own initiative to assimilate to Dafa. One is not a practitioner if one just wants to take from the Fa and doesn't think of contributing. Mainland China is the central place where the evil gathers. We have the Fa and Master as well as support from practitioners all over the world. We have the ability to offer salvation to people. Here is what I have been doing:
Daily Fa-study and the exercises
I keep Master's teachings firmly in mind, continue to do Fa-study and the exercises every day, and refuse to be interrupted. I have been through detention, and my home has been searched. For nearly a month, police monitored me 24 hours a day with a surveillance camera set up in a window at a house opposite mine. The police have set up "their people" as my neighbors and dispatched undercover agents around my house. I still keep up with Fa-study and the exercises every day. My Dafa materials are quite complete. Besides reading Zhuan Falun every day, I also study Master's new writings. Whenever I run into difficulties validating the Fa, I concentrate for a few days and read through all the lectures Master gave in various places so as to look for solutions from the Fa's point of view and to understand the progress of Fa-rectification as well as the requirements of the Fa. Keeping up with Fa-study and the exercises every day are what Dafa practice requires: it is our form of cultivation, solid like a diamond and immutable.
"The three things" are inseparable
In each of his lectures, Master has emphasized the importance of Fa-study. In recent years, he has also given much importance to sending righteous thoughts and the importance of truth clarification. It seems to me that persistence in Fa-study is the prerequisite and the foundation. Only by persisting in Fa-study can one unceasingly assimilate oneself to Dafa, comprehend the Fa, open oneself to wisdom, and recognize the difference between righteous and evil. Sending forth righteous thoughts is essential for clarifying the truth and offering salvation to people. Clarifying the truth and offering salvation to people are the purpose.
In the first half of 2002, I neglected to send forth of righteous thoughts. I particularly neglected cleaning up the bad interference in my own surroundings. As a result, I was abducted and taken to a brainwashing center. After escaping from the brainwashing center I calmed down and studied the Fa for a week and strengthened my righteous thoughts. During the entire year I was deprived of personal freedom, I eliminated evil factors by sending forth righteous thoughts.
I took the opportunity to visit relatives in far-away places to clarify the truth. Whether I was on a train or a bus, in the street or on the road, in the countryside, markets or village fields, I told people the true facts about Falun Gong and distributed truth-clarifying materials as I traveled. The results were quite good.
Master taught us "Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful"
According to Master's instructions, I continue sending forth righteous thoughts with fellow practitioners every day. I never overlook it, especially not since I was detained. No matter whether it was a globally or locally coordinated time to send forth righteous thoughts, I always participated. Sometimes as many as ten times a day, sometimes five or six times a day. I always send forth righteous thoughts whenever I have business and go to Tiananmen Square, the police department, the local police station the brainwashing center, or other places where the evil gathers.During the morning of July 25, 2002, the police seized me and searched my home. During their search for Falun Dafa materials I kept strong righteous thoughts, "You don't have the ability to find Dafa materials." As a result, some of them even touched my Dafa books, yet they somehow just didn't find them. None of my Dafa materials were taken away. Later on a 610 Office policeman named Zhang Guiming very cruelly interrogated me and yelled, "We are enemies!" When I sent forth righteous thoughts, he stopped the interrogation immediately and changed his name-calling, addressing me instead as "teacher "or "auntie." He didn't even make a record of the interrogation.
On October 7, 2003, when I went to the local police station to request a refund of my 5,000 yuan for my so-called "bail," I kept on sending forth righteous thoughts along the way, intending for that money to be used for saving people. I confidently walked into the local police station. They not only didn't say any bad words about Falun Dafa but also very courteously offered for me to sit down. They promised to process the refund that afternoon. After a week, I got the refund and contributed it to two Falun Dafa materials production sites.
Quite a few practitioners in our area have been illegally arrested. This is an indication that our Dafa disciples had some omissions. I have shared my own lessons and experiences with fellow practitioners who have been released from brainwashing centers or forced labor camps. I have encouraged them to get over their detours and to step back into Fa-rectification. Now there are three fellow practitioners doing fairly well. They have also led other practitioners to do the three things well together. Also, I didn't give up trying to persuade those who for a long time had not dared to step forward. I feel we should offer salvation to practitioners who have gotten off track, as well as to the general public. Master has not yet given up on any one of his disciples. I, as a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, have no excuse to give up on them either. I ran across six or seven such instances, and they have all now started to step forward.
2. Conform as much as possible to the state of everyday society during Fa-rectification cultivation
It is extremely important to follow Master's requirement to conform as much as possible to the state of everyday people during our cultivation. We should neither be too zealous nor overly sensitive, nor fall into the habits of average people. I should keep firmly in mind Master's request to not only cultivate myself but also to offer salvation to other people and leave them with the most positive future path for posterity.
Through these years of Dafa cultivation, my experiences have shown me that we must make use of the way ordinary people live and work to do the three things. As a retired teacher, I have made full use of the opportunity to visit all my relatives and old friends whom I had not seen for many, many years. I have quite a few relatives and friends who are middle to high-ranking officers. Clarifying the truth to them is crucial.
During the 2003 Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) I met twice with a couple dozen old classmates whom I hadn't seen for 38 years. Some of them were division chiefs and department heads, and others were principals and professors. I told them the ins-and-outs of the April 25, 1999 incident and about the staged Tiananmen self-immolation. I shared with them my own personal experiences as well as the situation of Dafa spreading around the world. They all understood and expressed support.
I told my nephew, who had been head of a superior court, and my younger brother, who had been a security officer, not to do bad deeds. Later on my nephew got rid of his provincial 610 Office work, and my younger brother also silently protected the practitioners in his unit. After many relatives and friends learned the true facts, their relatives and friends also got to learn the truth.
I have also gone to many places to clarify the truth. I have been to the big cities and medium-sized cities, to villages and small towns, to institutions and even forced labor camps. I have had contact with a wide range of people, and I have told them the true facts by appealing to their personal interests. Usually when I arrive in a town, I make use of shopping opportunities to meet and tell people the true story and/or to give them truth-clarifying materials. I also send truth-clarifying materials to those I haven't met but whose names and addresses I know. The result have been good, too.
Previously I neglected some social activities. Later on I realized that I could also clarify the truth during conversations at these events, so I decided to wholeheartedly participate in these gatherings. This included accompanying family members on travels. We still did what we were supposed to do. For instance, I learned things from overseas practitioners when I visited my relatives abroad. I studied the Fa and sent forth-righteous thoughts with them and distributed flyers. Sometimes I went to a Chinese embassy by myself to send forth righteous thoughts.
In summary, conforming as much as possible to the state of everyday people to do the three things can make it possible for us to offer salvation to more people. Then our family members, relatives and friends can understand and provide support more easily.
I realized the urgent need to offer salvation to people and the significance of our responsibilities. We must not let this opportunity pass by for it will not come again. I should strive to perform a Dafa particle's function.
"With righteous thoughts and righteous actions;
He is diligent without letting up."

(Clearwisdom.net) A little package was made even more special by having been smuggled out of prison by someone who risked his own safety to do so. The package's meanings are far deeper than those contained in its thousands of words.
The practitioners inside a prison entrusted a person to safely guide the package out through the locked doors and the searching guards to reach the outside world. What a daunting task it was to take this precious package, only the size of a lunch box, out of that closely guarded place of confinement.
Opening the package, after a few layers of paper coverings, one finds a few handwritten copies of Zhuan Falun, along with excerpts from Teacher's most recently published articles and lectures. Nine booklets together form one Zhuan Falun. Each of the nine lectures is made into a separate booklet, and all are the same size. Each booklet is about of one-quarter the size of a letter-sized piece of paper. Each is wrapped with its own paper cover and is neatly bound using a needle and thread. There are also a few smaller booklets, in varying sizes, containing hand-copied sections of Teacher's recent lectures and articles, as well as some of the poems from Hongyin, Volume II. It is truly amazing to open and read each little booklet! Every single letter on every page is neatly written. Every single stroke of every letter manages to be both delicate and powerful at the same time. Each word demonstrates the steadfast and sincere hearts in which Falun Dafa practitioners hold both the Teacher and their own personal cultivation paths!
People who have been held in these prisons know what a task it can be to find a pen, or even a decent piece of paper to write on. The prison conditions are terrible and the environment is an extremely cruel one. It is badly overcrowded, and prisoners have to learn to tolerate the many kinds of searches and indignities regularly inflicted on them. They are forced to perform hard physical labor and prison officials are constantly searching for new excuses to persecute them. Under these challenging circumstances, Falun Dafa practitioners still persist in their Fa study, reciting the Fa, and copying the Fa. Is there any power that can break this kind of indomitable spirit?
When the person who carried the package out of the prison learned the truth about Falun Dafa, he became steadfast in his resolve to take it out with him. Even though he understood the gravity of the risk he was taking, he proved himself worthy of the important task with which he was entrusted. After successfully taking the package out of the prison, he still had to travel for hundreds of kilometers and conquer many difficulties before finally passing it on to a Falun Dafa practitioner in the outside world. When he did so, his excitement was obvious as he repeated over and over, "I know Falun Dafa is good! I know Falun Dafa is good!"

"It is really extraordinary that your Teacher teaches you to be like this"
This autumn, all traffic passing nearby had to detour along a country road through a small village because of road construction. It was a dirt road, so it was damaged by the heavy traffic. It thus became very difficult for the local people to transport the produce they harvested to the village. The village residents were very worried. Seeing this, some local Falun Dafa practitioners decided to repair the road themselves.
A local resident said, "I was so touched to see you all, even the young and the old, come to repair the road. It is really extraordinary that your Teacher teaches you to be like this." She then brought some water for the practitioners to drink. Another resident said, "I will join you. We will repair the road together."
When more residents passed by, many said, "After all, Falun Gong is good!" A resident said, "Only Falun Gong can do something good for the people. Still, Jiang Zemin wants to arrest them."
"Falun Dafa is so magnificent! I feel much better now"
In 2003, when one customer came in, it looked like she was feeling very bad. I asked, "Are you all right? Do you feel something wrong physically?" She nodded. I then clarified the truth to her. I told her Jiang persecuted Falun Gong and Jiang made up lies to defame Falun Gong. I also told her that the so-called "self-immolation" incident was faked.
As soon as I finished talking, the woman suddenly felt much better. She was surprised and impressed: "Everything you said is right. Falun Gong is so great! My body feels much better now."
The change in an elderly man in China's Northeast
An elderly man in a village in northeast China was very against Dafa and sometimes even cursed it because he had been deceived by the poisonous propaganda on TV. He erased truth-clarification phrases wherever he saw them posted. His wife used to practice Falun Gong, but stopped out of fear after the persecution started. His wife became severely ill, and did not improve after seeking everywhere for a cure. One Dafa practitioner suggested that she continue studying the Fa and doing the exercises. She said she could not because of the pressure from her family.
The practitioner then went to talk with her husband. At the beginning, he was furious. Later, he changed his attitude when the practitioner talked to him with compassion and dignity. The man said the practitioner's words and actions moved him. Finally, he came to know the truth and agreed to support his wife's continued practice. Still, he was not very convinced: "Anyway, I cannot afford to cure her illness; nor can she endure any longer. She can practice a few days and see how things go."
It turned out that his wife's health quickly recovered, and she no longer needed a walking stick. She could even walk to the market. Her husband was impressed. How come so many medications had no effect, but several days of practice worked?
The practitioner who had spoken to him earlier explained, "If you listen to our Teacher's lecture tapes, you will understand why, and you will also benefit from it."
Now the husband also practices. He said, "Falun Dafa is really great. Everything in it is to teach people to do good deeds. This does make sense. It is quite opposite to what is said on TV. Jiang Zemin has fabricated a lot of lies. He is really bad. I was so scared of the persecution that I even burned the books before. I did so many things disrespectful to Dafa, yet Teacher still takes care of me. No matter what attitudes I had toward practitioners, they were so patient telling me what it was all about. Now I have benefited from Dafa. I am so fortunate to know the truth!"

A taxi driver in Panjin city: "Falun Gong is great. I will help you clarify the truth of Falun Gong."
Once in Panjin city, Liaoning province, I took a taxi and clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the driver. The driver got more and more interested. After he thoroughly understood that the self-immolation on Tiananmen Square was fabricated by Jiang's political group for the purpose of persecuting Falun Gong, he said in a panic: "The CCP is horrible, really horrible. Only they could tell such a terrible lie. Is there any kind of bad deed they wouldn't dare to commit? It is already the most heinous crime to set fire and kill people. Yet they even framed innocent people too. It is so evil!"

A Falun Gong practitioner in Panjin city went to the local market to distribute truth-clarifying materials. A laborer came up and took all of the materials. The practitioner quickly said, "Don't take so many copies. One copy per person." But the laborer said: "Madam, let me help you pass them out."
The practitioner was happy to hear this and wished the laborer happiness. The laborer then said: "I know Falun Gong is good for me. When you come again later, please bring more types of the materials. We are so interested in reading them."
Another practitioner in Panjin city talked to a person about the truth about Falun Gong. After understanding the truth, the person said: "Falun Gong is so good. It should be taught in the school textbooks."
Another time when a practitioner clarified the truth of Falun Gong to a young man, the practitioner talked about Falun Gong being taught and spread in over 60 countries, and Minghui Schools being set up all over the world, etc. The young man could not wait to say: "So when can we learn to practice Falun Gong openly in China?"

1. Realizing it is wrong to persecute Falun Dafa, a policeman recovered from cancer.
In 2002, a policeman in Henan Province actively participated in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners and their families. Later, he got cancer. On the verge of death, he suddenly came to understand the principle that good and bad receive their just due. He started to practice Falun Dafa and recovered. His health is almost back to normal now. He publicly tells others the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa and opposes those who slander Falun Dafa.
2. A policeman who learned the truth about Falun Dafa said, "It's fine with me if they want to practice Falun Gong. I'll think of something if my boss ever asks me about this assignment."
In a small town in Northern China, a Falun Dafa practitioner lives alone. The door to her house is always open. Every day, practitioners go to her home to study the Fa. They have maintained this study group since July 20, 1999. Practitioners get together at her place and study the Fa and share experiences and look inside themselves for shortcomings when there are conflicts. It is a very good environment. They study the Fa in the morning and go out to clarify the truth in the afternoon.
When government officials first heard about this, they sent a policeman to record practitioners' activities there. The practitioner clarified the truth to the policeman. After he learned the truth, he simply carried a camcorder around without recording anything. Some one asked him, "Why didn't you record their activities?" He said, "It's fine with me if they want to practice Falun Gong. They are all good people. I'll think of something if my boss ever asks me about this assignment."
3. A kind person protects Falun Dafa practitioners
I met a professor whom I had studied the Fa with five years ago. When I asked him about his experience over the past a few years, he told me, "I wasn't persecuted. My boss protected me. During those days when the evil was extremely rampant, the local 610 Office came to my university and tried to take me to a brainwashing class. My boss said to them, 'This professor assumes an important position in teaching and doing research for our college. He's been very good. Our college has the ability to handle the issue of his being a Falun Gong practitioner. Please leave it to us. You don't need to worry about him in the future.' The 610 Office had nothing to say and left. Nobody has harassed me since."
Here we'd like to sincerely thank this kind person and wish him the best. He chose to uphold justice in this battle between righteous and evil.

1. [Shihezi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Torture Causes Lung Infection for Practitioner Mr. Wang Jianhong
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Jianhong is 30. When he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in November 1999, he was arrested and beaten at the Tiananmen Police Station. The police officers burned his chin with a cigarette lighter. Officers at the Shihezi Police Department in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region illegally sentenced him to two years of forced labor.
When he arrived at the Wusu Forced Labor Camp, guards including Rong Changjiang shocked Wang Jianhong with electric batons and beat him. In an effort to make him give up his belief, the guards forced him to dig a settling chamber without providing him with any protective breathing apparatus, which can lead to lung disease in a short period of time.
In 2002, shortly after his release, Wang Jianhong was arrested again. Perpetrators were from the Shihezi Police Department's National Security Bureau and included Xu Ningdong. He was illegally sentenced to prison and sent to the Shihezi Prison. Because of the terrible environment there, in addition to the tortures, Wang Jianhong contracted severe infection in both lungs. He was sent to the hospital affiliated with the Shihezi Material Factory. Since he doesn't have any family, the prison refused to release him. His current condition is unknown.
2. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Liu Ziwei is Holding a Hunger Strike and is Near Death
Mr. Liu Ziwei was born on August 11, 1975 and had lived in Shiren Town, Jiangyuan County, Baishan City, Jilin Province. He was illegally sentenced to three years in prison for persisting in his belief and was incarcerated in the Tiebei Prison in Changchun City.
On December 30, 2003, Liu Ziwei was released. He returned to Baishan City to work.
Around 6:00 p.m. one evening in December 2004, a group of perpetrators including Zhao Yongbin, a police officer from the Baishan City Police Department's Dongxing Police Station, arrested Liu Ziwei at home. They ransacked his home and took a computer, a printer, computer video devices, a VCD player, VCD's, and Falun Gong books. Liu Ziwei is currently being held at Baishan City's Detention Center. He has been on a hunger strike since he was first detained and is now he is at the brink of death.

According to a reliable source, one practitioner contracted pneumonia as a result of torture. His family took him home after paying 7,000 yuan. 5. [Beijing] Recent Situation of Practitioner Ms. Hao Lihua
Ms. Hao Lihua is a teacher at the Shunyi District Kindergarten in Beijing. She was illegally sentenced to three years in prison on September 30, 2004. Those responsible were from the Shunyi District Court because she clarified the truth about Falun Gong. She filed an appeal with the No. 2 Intermediate People's Court of Beijing, but the court didn't permit her lawyer to defend her. The lawyer could only write a defense statement. There was no trial, and Hao Lihua was notified in late November 2004 that the original verdict is being upheld.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] News from the Women's Division of the Baoding Forced Labor Camp
Many Falun Gong practitioners are being illegally held past their terms at the Baoding Forced Labor Camp and are given five yuan a month pocket money. When a practitioner falls ill, the guards verbally abuse her and take her to the labor camp clinic. If the practitioner has high blood pressure, the guard exchanges looks with the doctor and the doctor says, "She is fine; she can work!" The guard then takes the practitioner back and forces her to work. When practitioners taken to outside hospitals are given prescriptions, the labor camp division head does not allow the practitioner to take the medication or to take a break. He forces the practitioner to keep working.
Government inspectors came to the labor camp and wanted to videotape people. The guards asked inmate Wei Xiuling to pretend she was sick and to receive medication. This staged scene was videotaped. The guards would train common inmates and have them answer the inspectors saying, "We work only five and a half hours a day," although the fact is the inmates are forced to work over 13 hours a day. In the past, they were forced to work 18 to 19 hours a day. They were not allowed to take Sundays off and didn't have time to do their laundry. The food is terrible and the guards sell food and daily necessities at very high prices. The labor camp dormitory serves as a factory. When inspectors come, the guards order the inmates to hide their work. They even accept patients, including people with high blood pressure, although it is against the law. On November 10, I saw a patient carried inside the labor camp on a stretcher.
The guards brutally torture determined practitioners. They also injected practitioner Ms. Huang Fenghua with laxatives. When she held a hunger strike, they force-fed and verbally abused her.
7. [Henan Province] Arrest of Li Jing for Delivering Falun Dafa Truth-Clarifying Materials
On June 10, 2004, personnel from the Kaifeng City Police Department who were deployed at the Kaifeng Bus Station arrested Li Jing (pseudonym) from Henan Province. Li Jing was delivering equipment and Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials to other locations and was transferring to another bus at the station. Now Li Jing is being held in Kaifeng City's No.1 Detention Center and has been on a hunger strike for over six months to protest the unlawful arrest. His/her situation is critical. Living conditions there are very poor. Even in the cold of winter Li Jing doesn't have a quilt or a change of clothes. Li still wears the thin summer shirt he/she was arrested in.

On November 12, 2004, police from the 610 Office arrested practitioners Ms. Liang Huizhen and Ms. Zhang Hong from Qingyuan City in Guangdong Province when the two practitioners went to Luoding to visit relatives and clarified the truth of Falun Gong. Police also ransacked their homes. These two practitioners were sentenced to three years of imprisonment and sent to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Zhang Hong was once arrested in 2000 and put into the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp for two years for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying flyers in Wongyuan County.
Ms. Liang Huizhen was detained for over 20 days because she appealed for Falun Gong in 2000. In 2002, police arrested her in the name of "checking the household registration" and then incarcerated her in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced labor.

Ms. Wang Li, 56 years old, lives at the Yingcheng Coal Mine residential compound in Jiutai County. Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, 50 years old, lives in Liuheli on the Wenhua Road in the Dongling District of Shenyang City. Personnel from the Sixth Division of the city's police department arrested her and her daughter, who graduated from Liaoning University, when the mother and daughter were distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying material in the Quanyuan Community during the afternoon of November 9, 2004. Police sent them to the Masanjia Force Labor Camp. Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi's home has been searched. Police confiscated a computer and a copy machine as well as some truth-clarifying materials.

During the evening of November 16, 2004, policemen from Tongcheng County, Hubei Province, arrested Xiong Yangbo and his daughter. A computer was confiscated.
At 8:00 a.m. on November 17, practitioner Mr. Jin Xiebin was arrested at home. A computer was looted.
16. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Persecution Accounts of Falun Gong Practitioners
Practitioner Mr. Wang Huaicheng, 35, worked in a barbershop. On June 23, 2004, Liu Yanjiang, the deputy chief of Helong City's Chengzhen Police Precinct, took Mr. Wang away as he was cutting a client's hair. On June 24, Wang was sentenced to one year of forced labor, charged with "violating the execution of law." At present, Wang is being held at the Helong Detention Center.
Mr. Zhang Zhen lives in the residential compound affiliated with the Wuming Coal Mine in Tushanzi Town, Helong City. He was sentenced to one year of forced labor for posting Falun Dafa truth-clarifying flyers and is currently being held at the Helong Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Runmei, over 30 years old, got her Ph.D. degree from the Chemical Engineering Department of Tianjin University. After she graduated, Tianjin University recruited her as a teacher. She went to Beijing in 2000 to validate Dafa. Afterwards she was sentenced to two years of forced labor. After her release, Tianjin University urged her to resign, so she went to another city. In 2004 she started to work with a friend named Yang Hong. In November 2004, she and Yang Hong were arrested without due cause, and their whereabouts are unknown.

Facts of the Persecution
1. Ms. Xiuhua Sun's life is in danger after hunger strike of more than three weeks
Ms. Xiuhua Sun, a 56 year old woman from the residential district of Xinhua printing factory of Chaoyang city, Jilin Province. She was kidnapped by the Xinhua police department, and jailed in Shijiazi Hetao Detention Centre. In protest of this unreasonable persecution, she has been on a hunger strike for many days and her physical condition has deteriorated. Even in her weakened condition, the Xinhua police department sent her to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for further persecution. After Masanjia refused to accept her, Xinhua police department took her back and extended her sentence. To date, it has already been over twenty days and Ms. Sun's life is in great danger.

2. In Heilongjiang Province, Shuangyiashan City, Zhang Xiangzhen, Wang Junhong, Lou Weiming are kidnapped and persecuted.
Ms. Zhang Xiangzhen is a female Falun Dafa practitioner from Shuangyiashan City, Heilongjiang province. On October 19th, 2004, she was kidnapped by a police officer from the Chang'an police department. To date, she is still being unlawfully jailed at the detention centre.
Ms. Wang Junhong, a female practitioner in Shuangyiashan City, Heilongjiang province was arrested on October 17th, 2004, without cause from Ms. Sun's house while visiting her. Ms. Sun had recently been released. On the next day, Ms. Wang was sent back to Shuangyiashan city detention centre. While in the detention centre, she was subjected to a question session that lasted over 42 hours without sleep.
Ms. Lou Weiming, a female practitioner from Shuangyiashan City was kidnapped in April 2002. She is being held in Harbin Women's Detention Centre. In November 2002, she had a stroke and was sent to the emergency room in the Harbin 211 Hospital. After only a week, she was sent back to the detention centre and, at this time, her body is in such bad condition that she cannot move. Her family requested to send her to the hospital but was refused by the police department.

3. Mr. Liu Guangbao, a Dafa Practitioner from Zibo City, Shangdong Province is kidnapped.
Mr. Liu Guangbao, a 40 year old male practitioner from Zibo City, Shandong Province was kidnapped by 610 Office officials on Dec. 7th 2004 while at work in his factory. He is currently in a brainwashing class organized by the 610 Office. They also confiscated his possessions from his office. Mr. Liu has elderly parents, a blind wife, and young kids who are now with no one to look after them. His family couldn't make a living without him and since there are no persons to manage his factory, production had to be suspended.

Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."

(Clearwisdom.net) On World Human Rights Day, 10th December, Amnesty International Gothenburg branch held an anti-torture parade and a candlelight vigil. Falun Gong practitioners from Gothenburg and the surrounding cities were invited to take part in the parade. This is the third time that Falun Gong practitioners attended the annual World Human Rights Day activities organized by Amnesty International.

The parade started at 7:00pm from Gothenburg University, passed through the busy commercial avenues and slowly arrived at the intended destination - Kungsportsplatsen. The representatives from Amnesty International Gothenburg branch and Gothenburg University human rights research institute gave speeches.
Falun Gong practitioners hung boards in front of their chests detailing the suffering and the persecution of practitioners in China, which attracted the people's and Amnesty International members' attention. Many people inquired about the current situation of Falun Gong practitioners in China. After learning the truth from Falun Gong practitioners, a member of Amnesty International asked for a display board and hung it in front of his chest to express his condemnation towards the persecution and to support Falun Gong practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) On the 18th of December, 2004, an important conference about human rights problems in Vietnam, Laos, Burma, Cambodia and China opened in the Culture and Education Centre in Paris. Several hundred people attended the conference. Asian human rights organizations exposed the serious human rights violations in these authoritarian and communist countries. The ongoing persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin regime and the Chinese communist party raised concern in everyone's hearts. It attracted the attention of every organization and participant in the conference and the persecution was strongly condemned.

Practitioners were invited to talk more about Falun Gong in the conference hall. Posters illustrated the various torture methods used by the Jiang regime to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in China. Relevant reports and information packages about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners were all taken in a short space of time. People sympathized with the sufferings of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The chairperson of the French Falun Dafa Association spoke at the conference: "Falun Gong is a Qigong practice that is liked by Chinese people and people in the rest of the world. It is a very good cultivation way. Falun Gong has received many awards and proclamations from many nations. In China it was estimated that between seventy and one hundred million people were practicing Falun Gong since its public introduction in 1992. The practice is entirely voluntary."
"During its spread in China, Falun Gong also received many awards and much support from the Chinese Government. In 1995, the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi, was invited by the Chinese Embassy in Paris to give a lecture about Falun Gong at the Chinese Embassy's Culture Bureau. It was Jiang Zemin's personal jealousy and selfishness that led him to initiate a brutal persecution campaign against Falun Gong. During the five years of persecution, one thousand one hundred and ninety five innocent Falun Gong practitioners lost their lives, many thousands were illegally sentenced to prison, several thousand were detained in mental hospitals and hundreds of thousands were illegally detained in forced labor camps."
The practitioners thanked organizations and individuals for their support and hoped that all kind-hearted people in the world will support and stand with us to denounce and condemn this brutal persecution.
A representative from Amnesty International responsible for investigating human rights violations in China also made a speech in the conference.
The conference participants had an opportunity to be personally involved in a question-and-answer session about Falun Gong. They were no longer puzzled by the fabricated lies and propaganda from the Jiang regime.

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 19, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners in Wellington, New Zealand were invited to speak about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China to law students at the University of Wellington.
Practitioners talked for about an hour about how the practice was introduced to the public in China, and how it has been spread to over 60 countries worldwide. They highlighted the differences between Falun Dafa and other qigong practices, explaining how Falun Dafa emphasizes the cultivation of one's character. They discussed in greater detail as to how Falun Dafa has, since July 20 of 1999, been persecuted in China. They showed pictures of practitioners being tortured, a VCD on how Falun Dafa is spreading and the truth of the so-called Tiananmen Square Self-immolation incident.
During the question and answer session, students asked practitioners a number of questions, asking why Falun Dafa is persecuted and whether Falun Dafa has a political agenda. CDs containing truth-clarifying information were distributed to the students. Several students approached the speakers and praised them, "Thank you. You did a great job!"
At the end of the session, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises.
(Clearwisdom.net) On the 4th of December, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners held the first information day in Vilshofen to let people know what Falun Gong is and the truth about the persecution. Vilshofen is a small city, approximately thirty kilometres from Passau. On the streets there are not so many people as in a big city, but they are normally easy going and never in a hurry. Many people have developed an interest in Falun Gong. They slowed down and stopped to take a look at our display boards and the information available from our table. Some passers-by who accepted our leaflets had a long chat with us. They all wanted to know what's happening, and why Falun Gong practitioners are suffering such a brutal persecution.
Many people signed their names to rescue Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Youlin Xu (mother of a practitioner in Germany). Ms Xu was sent to a labor camp without going through any legal due process because she distributed Falun Gong truth clarification materials. There are also many people who signed their names on our petition form to bring Jiang Zemin to justice. Before this activity, we had informed the local media and many people told us that they already learned our activity from local newspapers.
We also placed some truth-clarification material in some shops in the city center. All shop owners accepted our materials with pleasure, and some read it immediately.

Falun Gong, also called Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese qigong. Falun Dafa is a practice of the Buddha school that cultivates both mind and body. Even though Falun Gong practitioners diligently follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China have been persecuted since July 1999.

(Clearwisdom.net) Radio Free Asia reported on December 28, 2004 that Mr. Liao Yuanhua, former Discipline Committee Secretary of Wuxue City, Hubei Province has been imprisoned because of his practice of Falun Gong. According to news exposed on the internet, Liao Yuanhua has been beaten and tortured during his imprisonment. However, the official People's Daily denied this statement. At the same time, Falun Gong practitioners from Hubei Province revealed inside stories about the mistreatment experienced by Falun Gong practitioners in Fajiatai Prison, Hubei Province.
The report said that after a period of silence, China's media once again set off a new round of propaganda. According to reports from Xinsheng.net last month, Liao Yuanhua has been imprisoned in Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang, Hubei Province because of his practice of Falun Gong. Over the past four years of imprisonment, he has endured various kinds of torture. Whether he is still alive or not is still unclear.
Tuesday, an RFA correspondent interviewed Wuhan Falun Gong practitioners and happened to learn from practitioner Ms. Du Wenli that her husband, Mr. Ni Guobin, was incarcerated in the same prison with Liao Yuanhua. The prison employed torture on practitioners such as Ni Guobin.
Du Wenli: He has experienced all kinds of methods of torture. The prison where Liao Yuanhua is held is called Fajiatai Prison. He has endured all kinds of torture including "dead person's bed" and brutal force-feeding. They are forced to work consecutively more than 10 hours in a brick kiln with temperatures of several hundred degrees.
Du Wenli said that Ni Guobin was an instructor from the Wuhan Physical Education Institute. When the June 4 democratic movement took place, he appealed for the petitioning students and was thus discriminated against. Shortly after, he quit his job and started a business. Ni Guobin started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. In the second half of 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, but was consequently sentenced to three years of reeducation through forced labor. On the morning of December 7, 2004, he was once again abducted and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Du Wenli: When he'd just left home and was only about 200 meters away from home, four strong and tall men rushed out of a dark gray van whose vehicle number was 2A54534. The four men threw him to the ground and beat and kicked him. They then handcuffed and shackled him and threw him onto the van. Those people claimed that they were police officers. Our family members still have not received any legal documents. We learned from Secretary Cao Yunsheng that it was the National Security Department of the Wuhan Bureau of Public Security that arrested Ni Guobin.
The Secretary Cao Yunsheng that Du Wenli mentioned is in charge of the local subdistrict (government) office. This reporter phoned the National Security Department of the Wuhan Bureau of Public Security to find out Ni Guobin's whereabouts.
Reporter: May I ask about Ni Guobin's situation?
Wuhan Bureau of Public Security: We cannot tell you anything.
In Wuhan, there are quite a number of Falun Gong practitioners like Ni Guobin who are abducted and mistreated to different degrees or even tortured to death. 33-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Huang Zhao was an employee from Wuhan City Qiaokou Grain Bureau. Her family members told RFA Tuesday that Huang Zhao was summoned without any legal documents by the National Security Brigade of the Qiaokou Police Substation, Wuhan on April 1, 2004. Two weeks later, she passed away.
Huang Zhao's family member: On April 15, we were notified that she committed suicide and the rescue attempt failed, so she died.
Reporter: She died because of suicide?
Huang Zhao's family member: No! We don't acknowledge the suicide, because that was impossible! When her body was to be cremated, we needed to sign the official document on which was written, "to be executed". She was executed and therefore, it was not suicide at all!
Huang Zhao's family entrusted a lawyer from Shandong Province to file an appeal to the Wuhan Court, demanding the Qiaokou Police Substation to compensate them for Huang Zhao's death due to their illegal administration. However, the court refused to accept the case.

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 24, 25 and 26, practitioners in Central Taiwan held a three-day group Fa study and experience sharing conference. Through study and sharing, practitioners found many of their own shortcomings. Some practitioners from distant locations sacrificed their vacation time to join this activity. They shared their personal experiences as well as the experiences of their local groups in promoting the Fa and cultivation, which touched many practitioners' hearts.

Listening to Practitioners' Heartfelt Stories
The practitioner who organized this activity took the initiative to invite comments and evaluations from practitioners. A veteran practitioner who had been silent for quite a long time was moved to share her opinion and suggestions. Encouraged by her sharing, many practitioners in succession shared their understandings and suggestions. The coordinator sincerely thanked the practitioners for their sharing. With everyone's concerted effort, we will for sure all do better in validating the Fa.
True Improvement is to Give Up, Not to Gain
A practitioner from Taoyuan shared her experience. It was quite hard for her to join this activity. As a schoolteacher, she had to adjust her teaching schedule and arrange everything well at home before she could take a long-distance bus to the conference with her small daughter. She said that the sharing has helped her improve her xinxing a lot. She said that even though it looked as if she had given up a lot on the surface, what she had really given up were bad notions.
The First Thought is to Think about Others
Practitioners from Pingdong shared that they have several coordinators who always think about others first in every activity. Not just taking part in larger events such as going abroad to promote the Fa, for example, they always prepare breakfast for other first. With everyone's concerted effort and help from southern Taiwan practitioners, Pingdong recently held a large-scale anti-torture exhibition. The exhibition received very positive feedback from Pingdong citizens and many asked when we would have the second exhibition.
An Assistant Who Has Only Practiced for 4 Months
A practitioner shared her experience of practicing for just 4 months. As the regular practice site coordinator couldn't get to the practice site regularly in the early mornings, he delegated an important responsibility to her: bringing the audio-recorder to the practice site every day. Over the past 4 months, she overcame the laziness of not wanting to get up early, and managed to go to the practice site on time every day.
The Conference Site: "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities."
A professor shared a major obstacle, which he had just gone through. Though it was a giant hardship and the process was breathtaking, his belief in Master and Dafa was unshakable all the time. Despite the hardship, he still managed to do well in the three things every day and to participate in activities when invited by other practitioners. Though he was still in the process of eliminating karma on the day he left for this group study and sharing, he felt a mighty yet peaceful energy field as soon as he arrived at the conference site.
While a new year is approaching, we find our shortcomings through the group study and sharing. During these three days, we read Master's new articles as well as the recent article, "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York." We all sensed the urgency of the Fa-rectification, and enlightened to the fact that we should do the three things well and walk well on the path of Dafa practitioners, so that we won't disappoint Master's compassionate salvation.
