Chengdu Detention Center Transfers Practitioners to Deceive United Nations Human Rights Inspection Team

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 24, 2004, the officer of a brainwashing class in Chengdu, Sichuan Province stated that a United Nations Human Rights team would come for an inspecion. Fearing that the Falun Dafa practitioners would expose the facts of the persecution they received, the officer transferred all practitioners who would speak up and had refused to wear a prison uniform. Some of the practitioners were sent to Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang City and some were sent to Longquanyi Prison in Chengdu.

On October 3, 2004, the guards from Yangmahe Women's Prison in Jianyang City gathered all the practitioners who refused to wear prison uniforms. They even called back those already sent out to work. They forced everyone to wear a prison uniform, and took all the clothes that belonged to the practitioners and imprinted prison labels on them. The guards handcuffed those who resisted and warned them that unless they wore uniforms, the handcuffs would stay on. Ms. Zhou Houqin was one of those practitioners.

The guards would search everyone after daily labor before they could go back to their cells. One day after the search, a male guard ordered Ms. Zhou Houqin to open up her bra. She refused and was detained that day. The guard handcuffed her after she had gone to the restroom and claimed that she had left without asking permission. He handcuffed her with her hands behind her back to the hallway railing for three days. Ms. Zhou Houqin was still forced to work without any rest or sleep. She was once held in solitary confinement for months.

Ms. Yu Xuemei was held in the same prison. Two criminal inmates monitored her activities 24 hours a day. She was forced to work making shoes from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily. Sometimes to complete an order on time, practitioners had to work until 11 p.m., when the prison turned off the lights.
