FTV: Falun Gong Practitioners Rally To Protest Persecution in China
In the morning of January 8, 2005, thousands of Falun Gong practitioners gathered at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to protest the atrocities of the
Chinese government against Falun Gong. The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association said that on average 19 practitioners had been persecuted to death every
month, however, these atrocities have been covered up [by the Chinese government]. They call on the international community to address the human
rights problems in China. In the early morning, practitioners across Taiwan gathered at CKS Memorial Hall. Practicing Falun Gong exercises isn't their main goal today, the
main purpose is to call the public to pay close attention to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. There were also some courageous Chinese among the
spectators who spoke out in support of practitioners. Despite the cold and rain, practitioners formed a chain symbolizing the Great Wall of Justice. Among them, there are elders as well as children,
protesting human rights violation in China.
