Ms. Zhang Yuling, from Changqing Oil Field in Gansu Province, Tortured to Death in 2002

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Yuling was an employee of the Transportation Company of the Second Oil Extraction Division of Changqing Oil Field in Gansu Province. She became aware of Falun Dafa in 1997. In October 2001, she was arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials in Yinchuan City, Ningxia Province. Later her home was ransacked and her husband divorced her under pressure from the authorities.

Police from the Changqing Oil Field later jailed Ms. Zhang for over six months. During that period of time, they interrogated and tortured her. Failing to make her give up her belief in Dafa, they transferred her to the Ningxian Detention Center. Due to long-term physical torture, Ms. Zhang's health seriously deteriorated. However, the detention center did not order her family to take her home until she was on the verge of death.

Ms. Zhang's family rushed her to the hospital. However, despite rescue efforts, she passed away in December 2002, at the age of 30. The police tried all means to shirk their responsibility for her death.
