Falun Dafa Practitioner Xu Yan Persecuted in Kunming Mental Hospital

(Clearwisdom.net) I am an employee of Kunming Supply and Marketing Branch, China Nonferrous Metal Co. I began cultivating Falun Dafa on February 28, 1997. I benefited directly from the practice, and understood that Falun Dafa was a righteous Fa, and beneficial to society and to people. When Jiang started the persecution against Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, I was deceived by the Jiang's regime's lies and persecuted by the 610 Office, the Public Security Department, and my workplace. In my confusion, I turned in my Falun Dafa books. After I realized my mistake, I told the leader of my workplace that I would persist in cultivating Falun Dafa and that I believed in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." A person named Xu in my workplace claimed that I had mental problems and planned to send me to a mental hospital. I went to the Panlong National Security Team of Kunming City to clarify the truth. The team leader Qiu ordered three police officers to take me to Kunming Mental Hospital and forced my husband to pay 4000 yuan for hospital treatment fees.

In the mental hospital, I suffered brutal physical and spiritual torture. Every day the staff forcibly injected me with drugs. Each time four or five medical workers held me down by my four limbs until they completed the injection. I was injected or force-fed with various drugs as frequently as four times each day. The administrators wouldn't leave until they had checked to make sure no medicine was left in my mouth. Every time I was given injections and medicine, I became sick and began to vomit, and was often unable to eat afterwards. The large quantities of injections and medicine damaged my central nervous system, making me lethargic and sleepy. I was not allowed to study the Fa or do the exercises, and my health deteriorated. I continued to tell the doctors and nurses that Falun Dafa practitioners, who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance," were innocent and they shouldn't treat me like this. The doctors said that they had no choice but to carry out orders from their superiors. Because I continued to clarify the truth and send forth righteous thoughts, they allowed me to leave the hospital after two months.

On February 26, 2004, I was arrested by policemen in Guandu District because I told people "Falun Dafa is good!" and "Zhen, Shan, Ren is good!" Several policemen abducted me and beat me, leaving my body wounded and bruised. Policemen confiscated my bicycle and sent me to the Shuguang Police Station. After detaining me for several hours, they transferred me to the Guandu District National Security Team. I continued to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa despite the intense pain. Without any legal procedures, at midnight that same day they secretly sent me to the No. 2 Detention Center of Kunming City. On February 27, Huang, leader of the National Security Team, ransacked my house while accompanied by two policemen and confiscated five Falun Dafa books, two sets of exercise tapes, Pudu and Jishi music tapes, and other Dafa materials. After being detained for 15 days, I was bailed out. After that, my salary was deducted by nearly 1000 yuan by supervisor Li in my workplace, and then laid me off.

I was detained and persecuted in the mental hospital because I believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance." My family members were also implicated. Jiang's regime has treated perfectly healthy people as mental patients in an attempt to use mental persecution to deprive cultivators of their righteous beliefs. This not only violates the Chinese Constitution and infringes upon the human rights of citizens, but also violates basic human nature and moral standards.
