Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners Continues in the Third Forced Labor Camp of Henan Province

The Third Forced Labor Camp of Henan Province has been closely following the unconstitutional dictates of Jiang's political faction for the last few years. Camp personnel are known for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners with extremely cruel methods. So far, two practitioners have died from the persecution, and many others have suffered severe or disabling injuries. Almost every practitioner sent there is subjected to some form of torture. The torture device called "the strait jacket" was created at this camp and then adopted by the Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Several practitioners tortured by the strait jackets suffered broken bones and died in agonizing pain. Up to the present day, guards at the Third Forced Labor Camp still violate Chinese law in their treatment of practitioners.

On November 23, 2004, practitioner Chen Shaomin, who had just been abducted and brought to the Third Labor Camp, was tortured by several guards because he persisted in his belief in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance." Third Division Chief Shi Baolong (reported many times for brutality on Clearwisdom) stomped on Chen's neck with all his weight. Three guards, Tan Junmin, Xu Zusheng, and Run Lei, beat sensitive parts of Chen's body with their nightsticks, then shocked his entire body with electric batons and flogged him with leather belts. As a result, Chen Shaomin's body was covered with blood and his skin was severely burned. Afterwards, Division Chief Shi Baolong instigated two criminals, Mu Qidong and Wang Dalei, to continue torturing Chen Shaomin. Mu Qidong viciously twisted Chen's thumb with both hands, forcing Chen to kneel down in front of guard Du Zhengtao, and ordered him to slander Falun Dafa. After Chen refused to cooperate, Mu inflicted another savage beating upon Chen.

The guards try to brainwash recently abducted practitioners by forcing practitioners to watch videotapes or read fabricated materials that slander Master Li. They also force practitioners to write experiences after watching or reading the slanderous material and to write the "Three Statements." If practitioners do not cooperate, they use more brutal "reform" methods to torture practitioners.

On November 26, 2004, guard Tan Junmin seized a newly arrived practitioner by his hair and dragged him off to an office, where Tan began beating him. In the offices and guardrooms, people could hear the crackling of electric batons burning flesh, the sounds of blows, and the moaning of beaten practitioners.

One of the more degrading tactics employed by Shi Baolong is forcing practitioners to swear oaths or sing songs slandering the practice and principles of Falun Gong. Before allowing practitioners to go to bed, or before any group sessions, Shi orders each individual or a whole group to recite slander or to swear oaths against their consciences. Guards choose convicts to closely monitor each member of the group, and any practitioner who does not recite the slander will be taken away to be tortured.

One day in 2004, practitioner Wu Junqing refused to take the oath and was beaten by prison guards Xu Zusheng, Run Lei and Tan Junmin. They whipped him with ropes, beat him with rubber truncheons, and shocked him with electric batons. Run Lei struck Wu Junqing's face with a shoe so violently that a shoeprint could be seen on Wu's face half a month later. When the three had finished, Wu's entire body was a mass of burns and bloody bruises, and he was hardly able to walk. Wu's face was so swollen other practitioners could not recognize him.

Wu was then handcuffed to a convicted criminal, so that he wouldn't leave this convict's sight, and all his actions were monitored.

Wang Qi, Jin Chaofu, and Li Jinke are just a few of the practitioners who suffered from various tortures and unbearable degradation. Many other practitioners have been treated as badly or worse.

We hope that every practitioner pays attention to the situation in Henan Province and in all of China, and that all practitioners cooperate with each other as a whole body, upholds righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and collect the records of crimes committed against practitioners and expose them to the public.
