Ms. Zhang Zhenhua of Wanyuan City Brutally Tortured in Jianyang Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhenhua from Wanyuan City, Sichuan Province was arrested on October 8, 2004 and was secretly sentenced to a five-year prison term. She is being held at the Jianyang Prison and has been tortured to the point of becoming emaciated and weak.

Zhang, 52, lived by Gumaer Xinlianshe in Wanyuan City and retired from the Caoba Tea Plantation of Wanyuan City. She started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. In 2000, she took hundreds of truth-clarification materials to Beijing and appealed to the government to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. After she returned to Wanyuan City, the city police department, national security department, and the 610 Office escalated the persecution against her. They also threatened her family and imposed much hardship on them.

In the prison, the Police severely beat Ms. Zhang. After the beating, the police tied her hands together and hung her in the air. They then beat her with steel clubs and fists. She was tortured in this inhumane way continually for two days. She was not allowed use of a bathroom during this time. She had bruises all over her body. The police officers dragged Zhang to her cell, and she went into a coma for several days. Zhang has firmly believed in Falun Dafa and Teacher Li, and never stopped studying the Fa or doing the exercises. Due to the torture, she is now extremely weak and emaciated.
