By a Dafa practitioner from Binzhou, Hunan Province

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is L¨¹ Liuying (pseudonym). I am 49 years old and live in a rural area. Poverty and fatigue caused disharmony in my family for a long time. In the spring of 1996, I could no longer tolerate the quarreling at home, so I went with my cousin to Binzhou to do business.

One day in September 2003, I suddenly felt dizziness and discomfort in my head, I suffered a prolapse of the uterus, and I experienced itching all over my body. My feet and knees were strangely swollen and covered with blisters. I was in extreme pain. In order to cure these symptoms, I tried Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, folk prescriptions - everything. After the 2004 Spring Festival (Chinese Lunar New Year), my illnesses had become worse, despite all the treatments. It would take me an hour to walk one kilometer (~0.6 miles). A hospital examination determined that I needed surgery. The required deposit was 5,000 yuan. At the time, my family's financial circumstances were strained. My husband had not received his salary for his work for the city. We had no way to pay the required surgery deposit. I felt sad and in despair and made arrangements for my husband after my death.

With a slight hope to live, I learned to practice Falun Gong from practitioners who had told me about the practice in the past. In the middle of February 2004, I started reading Zhuan Falun. Since my family members' minds were deeply poisoned by Jiang's faction, they only allowed me to practice the exercises and forbade me to study the Fa. I calmly explained to them that to cultivate Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, having a healthy body and high moral standards neither violated national laws, nor family obligations.

Gradually they started to understand and support my wish to cultivate. When I read lecture four in Zhuan Falun, I experienced a heavy sweat during sleep. After that I no longer felt dizziness or discomfort in my head. My whole body felt light and relaxed. After one month, all of my illnesses disappeared. I walked with ease and could perform various heavy labor. My husband helped other people to renovate their home and asked me to help too. I carried hundreds of bricks in one morning, yet I did not feel tired at all. My happiness could not be expressed in words. I experienced the great benevolence of Master and the unmatched miracles of Dafa. Since then, I have put Fa-study as my first priority. Now I can recite "Lunyu." I am resolved to live according to Truth-Compassion-Forbearance at all times, elevate my moral standard, and gradually remove selfishness, bad habits and all kinds of impure character traits, to cultivate into a selfless and altruistic, righteous being.

In June 2004, with a friend's recommendation, I took a janitorial job at a bank for a monthly salary of 200 yuan. I diligently performed my duties. One afternoon, I was cleaning the bank's lobby when I discovered 10,000 yuan on the floor. No one noticed me as I picked up the money and counted - 10,000 yuan sharp! I gave it to Ms. Deng on duty and asked her to return the money to the owner. Ten minutes later an important customer named Huang hurriedly entered the lobby and said, "I lost 10,000 yuan here. Did anyone see it?" Ms. Deng said, "10,000 yuan! You should thank her," pointing in my direction. Mr. Huang happily thanked me. I told him that I was a practitioner of Falun Gong. He wanted to give me 100 yuan as a reward. I declined and said, "If I did not practice Falun Gong you may not have gotten your money back. My monthly salary is merely 200 yuan. Since I practice Falun Gong, I won't take things that do not belong to me. I haven't taken your 10,000 yuan, so how could I take your 100 yuan?" Mr. Huang kept thanking me. I told him, "If you thank me, please thank my teacher. It is Master Li who taught me to be an honest person." Since then, whenever Mr. Huang encounters me he calls me "good person."

I was fortunate to obtain the Fa in 2004. My life has entered a new phase. After my initial joy about this fortune, I have not forgotten the three things that Master asked us to do well--studying the Fa, clarifying the truth, and sending forth righteous thoughts. Disclosing the lies of the evil and eliminating the poison in the minds of sentient beings is Dafa practitioners' historical responsibility.

I have shared my experience with my relatives, friends, classmates, coworkers and the doctors who had treated me. They all agreed that Falun Dafa is indeed great.

I know that I am a new practitioner who is still far from what Dafa requires me to be. I will continue to improve myself in the Fa and never forget that I am a cultivator!
