Falun Gong Practitioner from Yushu City, Jilin Province Forced to Jump out of a Building at Siping Prison

On December 20, 2004, Yang Zhanjiu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Yushu City, Jilin Province, was forced to jump out of a building at Siping Prison in Jilin Province. His current condition is unknown.

Presently, Zheng Weidong, Wang Jianmin, Wang Hongge, Zhang Xuedong, Jiang Quande, Wang Guiming, Han Jinghui, Liu Changshan, Sun Liqiang, Sun Zhixue, Jin Xuezhe, Zou Jihua, and others are being detained at Siping Prison. Altogether, more than 40 Falun Gong practitioners are being detained there.

Siping Prison does its utmost to block the flow of information, fearing that their evil acts will be exposed. The prison authorities established a new rule: Family members of practitioners must provide proof to the local police station that they do not practice Falun Gong in order to see imprisoned practitioners. This has deprived many family members of their legitimate visitation rights.
